In Kynge's Gambit, the cards pick you

Modify your character to unlock cards based on your stats. Buy different weapons to change the style of your card attacks, increase your stats to increase their strength, each card is tied to you as a skill rather than just a card with a fixed number. Polish and modify your deck between battles and mind the stats tied to them.

Watch and Predict

Unlike other card games you must also look your enemies for its tells and postures that will tell if a strong attack is coming. Each enemy is strong in its own way and you will have to create a strategy. You may need to burst some monsters, or maybe take a defensive posture and endure while winning a battle of attrition. Never lose sight of your enemy, mind their charging tells.

Judge the destiny of your opponents. Choose to spare or kill them.

Fight, Die, Improve and Repeat

Every time you die you'll get better, wiser and may unlock different improvements to change or tweak your run like new starter items or cards.

• Disciples of the Moon: They rely on spells and magical defenses to overpower their opponents. Main stat: Dissidence
• Lionheart Champions: These fearsome goliats rely on pure resolve by use of huge armors and recklessness to enemy attacks. Main stat: Flux
• Holy Inquisition: The Holy Inquisition uses Miracles and holy weapons to bring their opponents back into the fold. Main stat: Faith
• Church of the Forest: These worshipers of nature rely on brute weapons executing enemies in gruesome ways as an example to their allies. Main stat: Forte
