Hello everyone!
Here we are again and we want to share information about the progress of chapter two!
In this developer diary we want to share figures and concrete facts about the development process, as well as show you some sketches, so you have an idea of what can be expected in chapter two.
For starters, how much more new stuff is coming in chapter two:
- 12 new backgrounds
- 7 new full-fledged art
- 15 NSFW art
- Lots of text and engaging dialogue
- 15+ new achievements
- 3 new minigames
That's a lot, isn't it? Don't worry, we've planned it so we'll make it in time for the deadline (summer 2023).
And now for more details
When the game was first planned, we understood that the pirate setting implies adventure, and adventure implies movement, and quite active! The second chapter features completely new locations, not unlike those in the first part. Fabian and his crew will encounter something bigger than a smuggler's ship.
We'll visit the "past" a little bit and, of course, see other locations in this world.
It's hard to judge how big the new chapter will be, but it's definitely more text than the first chapter (and the fact that we've increased the number of artists might hint that there will be more images, too). We should clarify that the division into chapters is more our convention at the time of development, the game itself will be seamless. Although, the game will give signs that you've passed some important stage and moved on to the next one.
As for the NSFW images, we've found a way to improve on what was drawn in the first chapter and make the new art more juicy and exhilarating. It's been a long and difficult process, but we're proud of the result and look forward to hearing your reactions!

During the work, it turned out that some of the body/face/clothing elements on the sprites were not satisfactory, so we reworked them. We added a lot of emotion to the characters to show the full range of feelings.
Olivia's face has changed and she's even cuter!
In the last blog we wrote about a card minigame that is in development, but not yet ready to show elements of it ;)
How is the development going?
It's going great! Really. We've reconfigured a bit within the team to streamline processes and get things running smoothly (thanks to the experience of developing the first chapter!).
Always the biggest part of the time is spent polishing - endless tests of the game (so you meet fewer bugs), correcting images, tweaking text in several languages, checking the game logic, preparing announcements and news texts for the release, and so on and so forth. That's why it's hard to give a specific release date.
Some arts undergo big changes during the sketching phase. For various reasons, we have to adjust some things and give them up. This scene had to be abandoned :)
We would like to express our gratitude to those who play the game, leave reviews, wait and love Wet Sand! Thanks to your interest, the project lives and grows. Thank you and stay tuned!
