With less than a month to go before launch, I've been wrapping up design and development for chapter one of Dreaming Isles. Along with some final gameplay functionality, I've implemented Steam achievements and Steam screenshot functionality. From here until launch I'll be playtesting and bug fixing to the best of my abilities. I'm sure there will be bugs post-launch (what game has ever launched without any?), but I'll do my best to find and squash as many as I can. Soon after launch I'll begin working on Chapter Two's content. Being a solo dev is wonderful for so many reasons, but it also has some downsides. One of those is the inability to test and debug every scenario and every possible sequence of events in a game as complex as a farm sim. No matter how much testing I do, until the game is in the hands of many people, I can't know all the bugs that are lurking and ready to leap out. It also means that it's difficult to see the forest for the trees as far as gameplay goes. It's hard to see the big picture of how it feels for a first-time player to experience the game. Now that more people have played it, I've come to the painful conclusion that Dreaming Isles is not quite ready for release. It needs more polish, more debugging, and more gameplay clarity. So, as difficult as this is, I'm pushing the release back to January of 2025. I want to do right by you, the player, and I want to release something that I'm proud of. I apologize to anyone who has been anticipating the game (all three of you!). I hope this will make for a better experience come January. Thank you. -YawningDad

The launch trailer is live, the release date is set for October 1st, and I'm frantically debugging and adding extra features and polish. If all goes to plan, I'll be releasing the game at 9AM EST on October 1st! I plan on running a release sale for the first week of release. Thank you!!

After nearly three years of work, the Dreaming Isles demo is live and available to play on Windows, Mac, and Linux! The full game will be out later this year, but I've tried to include many of the key features from the game. Start your farm, meet some of the islanders, earn your first boat, sail around the Isles, engage in naval battles, and craft items to help you on your journey. The full game will have more islands and areas to explore, a boat workshop that will allow you to store and upgrade multiple boats, a fishing mini game, boat races, festivals, deeper relationships, and many more islanders to meet! I'll be patching bugs as I find them, and making a few updates to the demo here and there, but I really hope you enjoy Dreaming Isles! Thank you so much for playing! -YawningDad

Hi all! I'm getting closer to completing the playable demo for Dreaming Isles. It should be ready by the new year, but possibly sooner. Dreaming Isles will be in the February Next Fest, so I plan to get the demo out well ahead of that. I want to get plenty of testing, feedback, and debugging done prior to the fest! Hi all, I'm busy working on a playable demo for Dreaming Isles that I hope to have ready by the fall. It will take you through the intro and some initial quests, let you start your farm and earn your first boat, and even sail to some neighboring islands.
