Steam recently presented me with several categories for nominating my game, Temporian, in this year's Steam Awards. Among them, one category particularly resonated with me.
Creating Temporian was not initially about crafting a challenging game. However, I aimed for a delicate balance, avoiding hand-holding while encouraging players to embrace both success and failure. The game was designed to prompt players to learn from their errors and improve their strategies for future challenges.
The paradox is that while Temporian is tough, those who have mastered it certainly don't 'suck' at it. Yet, the "Best Game You Suck At" award category humorously highlights the game's challenging nature. So, if you've conquered Temporian's trials, consider this a unique way to celebrate your achievement by nominating it for this award. It's a fun nod to both the game's difficulty and your exceptional skill in mastering it.

Added gifts - Your leader can now create pottery, ornaments and jewellery, as well as Jam and give it to your workers for an instant morale boost. How many can you discover?
Rewind - After tinkering with the Temporian a little, you've discovered a hack that will let you rewind time up to 1 year. Perfect for those little mistakes. Be careful though, as you only have a little bit of energy to work with.
Translations - Improvements have been made to most languages.
Moo - Cows no longer leave your settlement if they aren't on a field or farm. They are cows... they aren't too picky about which grass they eat.
Bug Fix - Fixed potential issue where cards couldn't decide which stack they wanted to join.

The 40% launch sale ends in just a few hours! The price will not drop to this level again in the near future, so if you'd like to get Temporian, now's your chance! Since the 1.0 release a week ago, Temporian has received 6 additional updates, following player advice and requests. I'm just about to hit the button that will take Temporian out of Early Access and officially release it, but before that, I wanted to take a moment to write this message.
I want to thank each and every one of you. I want to thank you for your support these past few months, helping me shape Temporian.
When I first started designing it a year and a half ago, I couldn't have imagined how proud I would feel watching each of you playing it, sharing your stories, feedback and ideas.
You have truly made Temporian into what it is today, and for that, you have my upmost graditude.
However, we need to look at this moment as a launch pad, and make Temporian the best game it can be!
I reiterate my promise that there will be no paid dlc, and development will continue for many months to come!

Dear Valued Players, I hope you've been enjoying your journey as Temporian is developed and refined. I have a couple of important updates to share. First, in approximately one month, I'll be releasing Version 1.0, a major milestone! Compared to Temporian's initial Early Access release, this version includes many changes and additions that I'm proud to share with you:
I've been working on the beta version for the past 2 weeks, and I've gathered a lot of valuable information, as well as made several big changes!
This update should bring us significantly closer to what I'd consider the final build of the main game. With any luck, I'll be releasing this build as stable tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 22nd April). Please note, once released into stable, your old savegames will be incompatible, so please complete any runs before updating.
To avoid what happened today, regarding old saves being incompatible, I'm going to be creating a new branch of builds. The stable build, and the beta build. You're all welcome to gain access to the beta build, which will include all of the latest features and updates. Once I'm happy with the build, I'll be publishing it as a stable build. Hopefully on a weekly basis. I can't apologise enough for releasing a build that breaks your saves without warning. I know a lot of you put in a great deal of time, and having that simply taken away is beyond disappointing. Hopefully, I've learned from my mistake, and having this beta build will stop that from being an issue in the future.
