Update v.1.03e Overview

Hey everyone! A couple of updates this time: Bug Fixes: Adjusted Map navigation for controllers and keyboard so that if there are missing targets the player can still hop around. If the normal next target is missing, the target will project and find the next closest target to go to that makes sense. Please let me know if there are issues with this! Audio: 11_Lv_Tween - Split song to create depth for cellist. Assigned the audiosource for non-restricted sounds: Character popping jingle on Scene Map Waterwheel for Slice Added guitar SFX for LuteBro no Waterwheel slice. Cheers! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)

Update v.1.03d - A New Slice!

Its high time for a new update! A couple of simple fixes, and a new unlockable 'Slice' (chill diorama scene)! If youve already beaten all of Hoods levels, youll already have access to this scene :) Quality of Life Features:

  • An extra Slice was added! This little scene is unlockable after beating the base score of level 21. If youve already beaten it, the level will automatically unlock!
Bug Fixes:
  • When a score exactly matched the Level Goal, it would break the string. Just needed that >=, should be good to go!
  • One of the scenes was unlocking after the wrong set of levels. Fixed! Current players whove unlocked it shouldnt lose their unlocked status for it (Hint: A big tree, a sunset)
Graphics:
  • Fixed a z-fighting issue on Aunt P Slice.
Audio:
  • Added sound effects to the Aunt P Slice.
Cheers, all! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)

Mini-Update v.1.03c Overview

Quality of Life Features:

  • Changed the score titles from Base Score and Target Score to Level Goal and Challenge Goal - the wording was confusing and players were unaware that they could continue without hitting the Target Score (Challenge Goal).
  • Changed the goal score targets on Level 21: One On Up. It was very hard to beat before.
  • Also re-enabled the ricochet on the cave wall - at some point I turned it off for testing, but that cave wall was always meant to live its best ricochet life.
  • Added in a few extra hints in the intro screen.
  • Also adjusted the hints so you dont see repeats until the whole list of hints has been shown.
Audio:
  • On the Scene select level, the exclamation points for new dialogue scenes and slices sounded the same as the character shifting sound. Fixed that.
  • Adjusted the volume of some sound effects.
Huzzah! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)

Mini Update v.1.03b Overview

Hey everyone, just a small update this time, but hopefully with big effects (namely in terms of level completion and achievements). Bug Fixes:

  • Level 10, Level 16 and Level 30 werent registering all bullseyes hit due to the ordering of some scripts.
  • After discovering this I did an extra check of all the levels to be sure that the targets were collecting the appropriate info. The bullseye issue should be resolved. There was another issue where a target on an unknown level wasnt displaying the appropriate score as well, hopefully this will also fix that - so if youre after that bullseye achievement, that should once again be within your reach!
Ive got more updates in the works, but some of those will take a bit more time. Among them - varied dialogue speeds + skipping, addressing reported Level 8 ricochet clipping issues, adding in an optional arrow arc that you can enable in settings, and some other quality of life fixes. Looking forward to the next update! Cheers! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)

Update v.1.03a - The UltraWide Update!

Summary: On 16:10 monitors and ultrawide aspect ratios the game wouldnt fit right on walking levels. This should now be fixed. Bug Fixes:

  • The misaligned graphics should be gone now! No matter the aspect ratio, no matter the resolution, in theory all graphics should show as theyre meant to. This is very exciting, I had to create a new camera follow script to allow the resolution to change properly. That was a trip.
  • Adjusted the level transition animation to scale correctly on different aspect ratios.
  • Fixed the response time on a level-secret interaction that wasnt always picking up player input.
  • Fixed a missing word in LJs first full level dialogue.
Audio:
  • Adjusted a few SFX volumes.
Urgent fixes should be good now, unless I get more player reports. Next up, Ill be focusing on some Quality of Life features, like enabling an optional arc preview that players can use if theyre having trouble lining up a shot. Til next update! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)

Mini Update v.1.02m - Fix for Steam Deck & Windowed Mode

Bug Fixes:

  • Steam Deck was not actually resetting to 720p, this update fixes that.
  • This update also pushes a small fix to windowed mode. Worth noting - if youre on a non-16:9 monitor (Mac, ultrawide, etc.), putting the game in Windowed mode in the settings menu should automatically resize your game to 16:9 and ensure that everything displays correctly. Note: After switching to windowed mode from fullscreen mode and resizing the window, you may need to reset the level to refresh the display. This can be achieved by pressing 'R' on a Keyboard, 'View' button on Xbox controller configurations (includes Steam Deck), or the Reset Level button in the Settings menu. If you're resizing the window while the game is paused, closing the Settings Menu will also refresh the display, as it won't live-refresh while time is stopped.
Cheers! Ariel

Update v.1.02j - Resolution Fix, Pt. I

Update v.1.02j Overview

Non-16:9 resolution monitors were having an issue where some graphics would be misaligned. This solves most of those problems, but the walking levels still have some issues (it's my current focus and I hope to have a fix up tonight or tomorrow!). Bug Fixes:
  • Forced Steam Deck back into 720p for now - until the new resizing system is fixed.
Graphics:
  • The resolution fix I pushed should hopefully have fixed issues with UI on ultra widescreen or 16:10 monitors, but it also offset a couple of effects cameras. This update adds an exception to special cameras on every scene so that they dont offset and misalign the art.
  • Note: There are still resolution issues on the Walking levels for non 16:9 monitors, but its my next focus and I hope to have a fix up tonight or tomorrow.
  • Fixed a point rendering issue on Lv 20s special level.
Music:
  • Dimmed music on right side of the tree in the second walking level. Also fixed the birds cutting out abruptly on that level. Ambiance ftw :)
Cheers! Ariel

Update v.1.02i Released! New game saves, Resolution Fixes, Hints and More!

Update v.1.02i Overview

Quality of Life Features:
  • Added separate save slots for new games - previously the entire game would have to be reset, so it wasnt friendly toward new users on the same machine. You can now select your save by hitting Play in the intro scene.
  • Created a backup (.bac) file of the original OneFineSave.es3 just in case there are issues with the new save system. If there are, please reach out to me through Steams contact methods and I will address them as quickly as possible.
  • Added build Version number in Pause Menu for support purposes.
  • The Extras button on the main menu now shows you achievements per save game.
  • The Eula button on the main menu shows you the privacy policy in case you want to review it.
  • Note: Ive removed the Credits button as there was really only the developer in there plus some thank yous. Im still grateful to all the original thank yous though! :)
  • Added Feather Dude dialogue for Steam Deck that includes instructions for using the touchscreen arrow to aim.
  • Added timed, random help tips on the main menu as some features are easy to miss, such as quick level Reset.
  • Volume sliders are controlled per save slot (so for each separate game). I can swap it back to a universal control across saves if need be.
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed Mouse jitter when button was selected with mouse on the Pause menu.
  • Fixed issue where Windowed mode wasnt updating the screen resolution to 16:9 properly on resize.
  • Stopped mouse from hovering over buttons and changing their color on Steam Deck or controller controller - visually, this was very confusing as the controller was selecting buttons but others were still being highlighted by an invisible cursor. Touchscreen selection still works on Steam Deck.
  • Also altered the training grounds in-world UI to do the same.
  • Adjusted privacy policy popup so that it doesnt fire if the game is running on Steam - as Steam has its own EULA popup for the game so it was just redundant.
Gameplay:
  • On level 8, the arrow could get stuck in a ricochet loop eternally. The collider has been adjusted so that you can still get wild amounts of ricochet bonus points, but it will hopefully not get stuck up there forever anymore.
  • On level 8 there was also an issue with the arrow sometimes passing through the collider at certain angles - I put in a fix but will need to test more to ensure its fully impermeable.
  • Target Maestro Reset now also resets scores for Levels 1-15. This was always intended to happen, but I removed it at some point and never put it back in and didnt realize it til this build.
Graphics:
  • Slowed the animations on the intro characters a bit, they were playing slightly too fast. Simmer down, gang.
  • Added black bars to keep the scale of the game in check on wider or taller screens than a 16:9 resolution at fullscreen mode.
  • One of the horse-riding cinematics was experiencing slowdown/speedboosts on the animations - its now less framerate dependent and should run smoothly. Also slightly altered the dialogue.
Music:
  • The Intro music loop was a bit too repetitive and blunt, so it has been remixed! I still have the old version as a backup, but the new one is much easier on the ears, I think.
Cheers everyone - hope you enjoy! Ariel P (NvrSkipGameDay)
