Hello Steam users! I’m Ste, and you’re playing (or maybe you’re about to play, or maybe you’re not sure yet, so let me help make up your mind: DEFINITELY PLAY IT) Chime Sharp — a music puzzle game that we Kickstarted earlier this year and should be finished in early 2016. This is an Early Access version which means there are lots of things that are in-progress and broken here, but the game is perfectly playable and I think it’s a pretty good illustration of the game we want to end up with. It’s pretty, pure, and both relaxing and challenging. We’re really proud of it! With that in mind, here are some of the things we’re working on right now, possibly even as you’re reading this: ++ There are only 6 of 15 tracks in at the moment and they’re not all final. If you’re part of our Early Access team you’ll see new tracks added regularly (and improved / edited) (and some might get removed, too, as we try to build our perfect mixtape) ++ We’re still playing around with the game modes. Both Sharp and Strike are new additions and we’re glad they’re there, but they need some balancing work and all rules are subject to change ++ The UI. Should the “Next” pieces really sit below the board? Seems a bit odd to us, so expect that to change shortly ++ The menu system. It’s a bit of a jumble right now and we’ll definitely be remixing that before release. Artists up front, we think? ++ The controls. They’re still a little twitchy around the edge of each cell but we have a plan. You can read a longer post about that over at the Chime Sharp Kickstarter, in our updates, if you’re curious ++ The viewpoint (and the palettes). We love our new look but we know it isn’t for everyone and there’ll be a test “classic perspective” option in the next build, we think. We’re also adding support for alternate colour palettes to address issues for gamers with different visual needs Busy times. I’ll update this with more build notes on the next release but until then let us know your thoughts…

New music + new modes + new visuals = CHIME SHARP.
Place pieces, paint the board, make music. Chime Sharp is an sequel to 2009's Chime, a music puzzle game with an addictive, ambient heartbeat. You tessellate shapes to cover a grid, while a beatline reads those shapes as notes. As you cover the board the music builds to a beautiful crescendo of your own design. The only way to discover Chime is to play it, but if you want a glimpse, consider what it might feel like to cross Tetris, a music sequencer and a hypnotic dream about your favourite pop song.
Chime Sharp takes Chime's classic dynamic and updates it for 2015. The core rules are the same but the aesthetic is clean and modern and the game's soundtrack has been completely refreshed. With fifteen new levels, experimental modes, new-era connectivity and sharper ways to play, Chime's finally back -- and it wants to be your new favourite mixtape.
