Release 30 Patch Notes: May 27, 2016

Welcome to Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues Early Access Release 30! Notes on what is in this release are available here.

Changes:


  • Novia Overworld: Fixed various invisible blockers, spawn into air issues, and other items

    • Adjusted spawn-into-Novia target for POT Praga so players spawn at the town instead of in the air



  • V key now cycles through 3 camera modes: First Person, Over the Shoulder, and Center Camera

  • Now delivering the /spyglass emote to anyone who purchased the spyglass item

  • Wars menu can now be opened again via the window selector menu

  • Brittany: Now has 3 songs instead of 1

  • Updated bag mode crafting UI to support viewing the entire crafting summary

  • Fixed being able to select friendlies and showing there nameplate in the top left.

  • POT Cottage Grove: Changed location as per player request in aftermath of Novia rework

  • Breakable Walls & Gates are now working again

  • Fixed POT NPCs walking through walls


Known Issues:

  • Novia Overworld rework has introduced various stuck spots, incorrect collision and "exit into the air" issues

  • Some UI text is not wrapping correctly

  • Rain is coming through the roof of some buildings

  • The new Targeting system still has various issues that need fixing

  • /spyglass effect can be done even if you don't have the spyglass equipped

  • Pledge items and Add On Store Items are having their Maximum Durability reduced

  • Stabilty: The latest version of Unity we are using has introduced significant stabilty issues along with memory leaks. We are working with Unity to resolve these as quickly as we can

  • Linux: We are experiencing significant issues with the Linux version of the game due to the latest version of Unity. We are working with Unity to resolve these as quickly as we can

    • Avatars don’t idle. Stuck in walking animation.

    • Movement breaks when casting various skills while running.

    • Dying snaps avatars to incorrect position within a scene. Will eventually crash.

    • Using Coconuts in select scenes (like Aerie) will throw the avatar out of boundaries. Will eventually crash.

    • Taking screenshots crashes the client



  • Pathfinding is breaking in some houses and basements

  • Local chat is failing in some situations

  • Many SFX are not properly tied to the sound volume controls.

  • Lighting and fog levels are still being tuned to work with the new weather system, expect anomalies

  • Death and Resurrection do not work properly in the team arena

  • Water lots in Dynamic Player Owned Towns can currently only be placed along shorelines, not on docks

  • If you upgrade from a property owning pledge between data wipes you will receive extra lot deeds.

  • If your video drivers are out of date characters will appear as if they are covered in triangles.

  • Some cities are experiencing performance spikes

  • Some pledge, add on, and stretch goal items have not yet been built and/or do not yet have tech support.

  • The update to Unity 5 caused a host of general texture and lighting related issues, and not all of these have been resolved.

  • Distant tree billboards may have a white outline that is especially noticeable at night, and some trees may shimmer with white at night.

  • Skin tone will sometimes not match properly on different parts of the body

  • ALT key can no longer be bound. This was necessary to re-enable quick self cast with ALT

Changes:

  • Novia Overworld: Fixed various invisible blockers, spawn into air issues, and other items

    • Fixed invisible walls blocking paths at (121.5, 13.0, 64.1) and (115.1, 14.3, 41.3)

    • Novia and Highvale Village: Made adjustments to the collison in Novia and spawn-into-Novia target for Highvale Village to ensure players don't spawn in the air when entering Novia.

    • Corrected label of Vauban Pass discovery.

    •  Updated the collision around Celestis (it's entire island) and Solania to ensure players don't spawn high in the air when entering Novia from these scenes.

    • Adjusted collision in the area of (-154.1, 17.8, 196.8) to allow for pasage between the mountains and river.



  • Brittany: Increased the size of the interaction volume on three of the main exit gates.

  • Added light to death visuals.

  • Fixing missing material on dungeon balcony

  • Fixed various exceptions

  • Fixed line break problem in tooltips for crafting components

  • Fixed issue with Ring masterworking

  • Fix for all gloves that are not behaving well with /headbang emote

  • Player vendor rewards were not being delivered past citizen, this is now fixed with new delivery method that is account-based

  • Removed collision from the floors in Greenhouses so that items can be placed in them again

  • Adjusted LOD group on dresser decoration (cupboard2) so that it culls at a further distance

  • Enchanting and Masterworking skills should now finally be leveling up properly

  • Enabled run with mouse in combat with auto attack.

  • Etceter Crag Mines: Moved gold node on ground at (85.7, -10.0, 139.0) to across the room on the ground. Moved gold node on ceiling at 21.8,-24.9,68.7) across room to waist level. This is to ensure nodes aren't stacked with other nodes that will inhibit mining.

  • Fixed Elven chest armors using wrong cloak sizes

  • Fixed pink exit archways in Elysium Mines Entrance map

  • Fixed naming errors for Masterworked items

  • Brittany Fields: Temporarily disabled all the crop fields due to a crummy shader that was eating up 30% of our frame time.

  • Show non-PvP players on Nearby Players list

  • Halved the durability destruction rate which doubled the effective time it takes to destroy weapons and armor and tools.

  • Added rings to the list of item types available for repair

  • Fixed issue where player could get locked into /spyglass emote if any other emote was used while in /spyglass mode

  • Noble Discourse Orb will now work while it is in a subcontainer in your inventory

  • Pets set to Aggressive will  no longer freely attack other people's pets at will, regardless of PVP flagging or duels.

  • Fixed auto attack targeting dead bodies

  • Fixed Epic Plate gear not using crafted metal colors

  • Fixed Owl's Head discovery Steam achievement

  • Fixed Portuguese compass

  • Adding arrows to basic Blacksmith merchants (Spite, Brittany, etc.)

  • Fixed camera sinking while at crafting table

  • Musical Instruments will no longer be able to gain exceptional item bonuses

  • The Master of Air trainer in Kingsport should no longer be taking a swim under the docks.
