Greetings human,
We have some news to share: Right now Kiyo is part of two events!
The first is the Steam event "Southern Europe Game Festival" run by DevGAMM Lisbon.
If you want to check out other great games visit their page: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/DevgammLisbon24
We are thrilled to be part of it!
The other event is even bigger: It's the Games Ground in Berlin, where you can meet team members IRL and play the newest version of Kiyo. So if you are living in Berlin, or have friends that live there, sneak into it and talk with us - we won't bite.
And if you can't, just visit the Games Ground Steam event page and see what kind of new games the devs (like us) are cooking.

Were happy to announce that Kiyo is part of the Indie Game Fest event on Steam!
Explore Rabbithole City and tackle levels by sneaking, fighting and solving puzzles. Kiyo's gameplay is a combination of Thief, Splinter Cell and Oddworld, but in 2D pixel art. Try it out for free, there's a public playtest available for the whole duration of the event. If you like it, please wishlist it and tell your friends about it!
The new playtest is bigger and better than the previous one: we did many improvements and it contains one more level. Sign up for free to G.Round and get your playtest key here. You'll also be able to provide us with more feedback and suggestions to keep improving Kiyo!
Hey guys!
We have 2 important news regarding the playtest! Firstly, the build has just been updated. The game has had a couple of performance fixes and small adjustments to the gameplay. The biggest things can be broken into two categories:
- The first one is an option for making your own keybindings on a keyboard; weve received a lot of feedback on how players wanted to adapt the controls to their liking, so it was one of the biggest things that needed to be done; remapping the bindings on controllers is possible as well, but it would need to be done via the Steam Input system.
- Plenty of Linux-oriented stuff has been added to the respective build of the game; this means that the game should run on more distros, including the older ones.
Join The Resistance, fight evil bunnies!
Were happy to announce that Kiyo is a part of the Metroidvania Fusion event on Steam!
We got chosen to represent a cool niche in a genre thats known for putting emphasis on many different areas of gaming, such as puzzle solving, combat or exploration. Kiyos all about stealth and it presents a more linear approach to the story. While our game isnt a metroidvania in its purest form, we reckon it could be considered to be one. We really hope that youll like the game. Trying it out is free, as its undergoing a playtest. If you wanna try something a bit different, give it a shot! If you like it, feel free to wishlist it and tell your friends about it!
Playtest starts today at 5 PM GMT!
The Resistances search has brought results. You, human, will take control over the body of Kiyo - an anthropomorphic lynx, ex-predator. Your ultimate goal: to destroy the evil BunnyCorp and restore the natural state of things. But for now, lets start with small steps.
The test build will become the demo build over time. We need your help and feedback to make it as good as it gets. In the current version of the game, youll get to know how the story begins, will pass a tutorial section and will be able to take on a first mini-level. Aside from this, youll have plenty of venues to explore. The purpose of the playtest is to iron out all the bugs that are about to be found. Join our Discord server to share your feedback and have a good time! The playtest of Kiyo features:
- Tutorial level and first mini-level
- Most of the main gameplay mechanics are introduced: sneaking, archery, ninja rope, and cat vision. What are they? See for yourself!
- Two city neighbourhoods which youll be able to explore freely
- Working metro system
- Various indoor locations
- The beginning of the adventure is revealed
- Xbox controller recommended
Known issues
- Certain antivirus software could block the game - that's a false positive
- PS5 controller not supported yet, but coming soon
- In case of input loss, switching to the menu and back to the game should solve it
- It requires a decent video card, and if it doesn't run smoothly there's a LowSpec option in the Video page of the menu.
- If playing on a laptop, please make sure the discrete GPU is selected by default for OpenGL programs (easy instructions for Nvidia)
- Linux version: joypads not supported yet, but coming soon
Help us improve the game and have fun at the same time!
The Owl needs a first cohort of brave humans to test his techno-magic interplanetary connection system. Beware: as part of this first wave you'll be little more than cannon fodder.
What? We are really excited to announce that we are almost ready to publish the first online playtest of Kiyo. You will soon be able to play the beginning of Kiyo's adventure. Experience an early version of Rabbithole City and help us polish the game with your feedback and bug reports. We built our engine from scratch so it's really important for us to test it on as many different computers as possible. Exotic bugs might lurk in the corners of Kiyo's world. Expect roughly 30 minutes of stealthy platform gameplay, but you'll be free to roam in the city and ride the metro as long as you want. When? The build will go live soon after the end of February's Steam Next Fest. How Click on the "Request Access" button on the game's front page. Steam will send you an email when the Owl is ready. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2466790/Kiyo/ Stay tuned: we'll provide more info and dates in the next few days.
