Kudos, 2025!
As the year comes to an end, I wanted to share a final look at where Delicards is, whats been cooking behind the scenes, and where the game is headed next.
Delicards started as a small idea: what if cooking itself was a card game?\nOver 2025, that idea has slowly turned into a playable, strategic, cozy experienceand Im excited to say the foundation is now in place.
Throughout 2025, the focus has been on building solid core systems rather than rushing content.
Right now, Delicards features:
A functional cooking loop powered entirely by cards
[/*]Recipe, ingredient, and seed cards with clear synergies
[/*]A deck that evolves as you cook, not just as you draw
[/*]A smoother, more readable cooking flow during each turn
[/*]
The game already plays like a kitchennot just a deck.
Seeds, Planning & Long-Term Strategy
One of the biggest additions this year was the seed system.
Seeds introduce long-term planning:
Plant now, harvest and cook at later turns
[/*]Build toward specific recipes
[/*]Reward patience and foresight
[/*]
This mechanic is shaping Delicards into something slower, calmer, and more thoughtfulvery much in the spirit of cozy games.
Deckbuilding That Feels Like a Kitchen
By the end of 2025, the deck has taken on a clearer identity:
Some cards prep
[/*]Some cook
[/*]Some enable future turns
[/*]
Youre not just drawing cardsyoure organizing a kitchen.
This structure will support future additions like:
Kitchen upgrades
[/*]Chefs & specialties
[/*]Regional recipe themes
[/*]
The Road to Release Summer 2026
With the core systems now stable, the plan is to move Delicards toward its first full release in Summer 2026.
The coming months will focus on:
Expanding the card pool with meaningful variety
[/*]Improving balance and combo depth
[/*]Polishing UI, animations, and feedback
[/*]Adding progression and light meta systems
[/*]Playtesting and iteration based on feedback
[/*]
No crunch, no rushingjust steady, careful cooking.
