Toricky's version .2.0 is here!

Thanks to all our community's support and feedbacks which let us improve Toricky up to this point! This version introduces

a new EASY MODE function for players who are not used to action-games

and want to focus on exploration and puzzle solving.
You can activate the EASY MODE anytime by pressing on F2. When the EASY MODE is activated, you will not take damage anymore (except instant-death) but Perfect Medals and Clear Time will not be recorded.

2 game issues related to the version 1.2.0 update have been fixed.

• Screen Readability As the game was praised for its cute and colorful visuals, we also observed that some players are encountering difficulties to distinguish interactive from decorative elements. That's why we proceed large scale graphical adjustments to improve the screen's readability!
  
  
• Graphic Enhancements We also took this opportunity to upgrade many graphical elements of the game including the lighting.
  
• Dimensional Gates Shortcut System Once you have visited a Zone. You can select the Zone's Gate Icon on the Crystar Palace (Main Hub) 's map to teleport directly to the selected Zone's Dimentional Gate (Entrance). • SmootherTutorial & Dialogues As Toricky is a game introducing very unique gameplay and controls, we think that it's important to explain one by one its mechanics. Many other dialogues were also adjusted to allow the player to skip them if wanted.
• Minor Bug Fix & Level Design Adjustements
• Other Surprises... It seems the entrance of a secret Zone with additional new Crystars has been spotted in the Crystar Palace! Would you be able to find it?

We're very sorry for the technical issues encountered with the store page the last few weeks. But we're happy to announce today that

Toricky's release is now scheduled for January 13th (Friday)!

We took advantage of the extra time resulting from the delay to add some extra features to the Game. To accompany Toricky's release, we're also planning to have an OST and a Strategy Book.

Hi, Everyone,

My name is Arashi, and I'm the Creative Director of Toricky!
This time, I'd like to talk about the game's musics! I think music is a key component of a game's universe and it was very important for me to have a soundtrack for Toricky which matches perfectly the game's world! During 2016 we had the chance to be contacted by the label Scarlet Moon Records, who offered us the opportunity to work with two amazing composers.

Dale North :

A talented composer for video games and digital media based in San Francisco,
and

Hiroki Kikuta :

The legendary composer of Secret of Mana, who also worked on many other famous games like Soul Calibur V or SEGA's Shining Series.
Toricky is a Platform-Adventure game featuring Toricky a green exploring bird always looking for new adventures! I really wanted the game's Main Theme to set the tone for the player. Kikuta-san envisioned a treasure hunter in the sky, which fits perfectly to the character of Toricky who loves treasures! Resulting in the epic theme “Treasures beyond the Sky”. I'm a great admirer of the sound design on Nintendo's Mario and Zelda Games; especially how the musics are not used only for an artistic purpose but as an integral part of the Gameplay. While working on Toricky's soundtrack, Dale took special care to make each track illustrate the situation the player is ingame.
Also, Toricky's world is strongly influenced by Japanese folklore and myths. I felt it important to highlight this atmosphere but without slipping into the Samurai/Ninja ambience. It is with this in mind that you'll find many discrete inclusion of japanese instruments like Biwa in the game's Fantasy Musics. However, for one particular theme, we took our inspiration from WagakkiBand, a famous musical group from Japan which plays awesome Rock musics using traditional Japanese instruments. I'll leave you to discover what track on your own!

Hi, Everyone,

My name is Arashi, and I'm the Creative Director of Toricky!
One day, Guillaume, an indie developper who is the programmer of Toricky came to me with a conceptual mini-game featuring a little Bird carrying and throwing boxes. When I saw this flying character using physics to play with objects, I had an intuition that we could be able to create a very unique mechanics for a great Platform Game. That's how the project Toricky started! It was about 2 years ago.
At Atelier Melon-Kissa, my indie game studio based in Osaka (Japan), we love Mangas and Animes. This is one reason we think characters are very important elements of a game. For Toricky, I created many colorful characters with very unique personality for each of them.
When designing the game, we were drawing inspirations as much from Old School Platform games, especially the Sonic and Mario games which I am a great fan, than Action-Adventure games. One of our aims is to render in 2D the feeling of Nintendo 64 Exploration-Platform games! The world of Toricky is also greatly influenced by Japanese folklore and myths.
We exhibited the very first Prototype of Toricky at the Tokyo Indie Fest 2015, a big indie game show which took place in Akihabara, the holy land of Japanese Pop-Culture! It was a very simple version of the game with small stages, few enemies and a treasure to find. As soon as we saw hundreds of gamers visiting our booth and really enjoying Toricky's refreshing gameplay, we realized that we might have something that could become an amazing game! It's very important for Atelier Melon-Kissa to create a complete game experience where gameplay, characters, story, and musics interact with one another! Level designing the game is a big challenge as we are creating immense zones structured around complex puzzles. Guillaume is also having a hard time programming the various crazy Boss Fights the game is featuring!
