Changes in this Version of Crossing The Sands:
Fixes an issue that caused unique item loot drops to repeat.
This patch solves a couple issues caused by the big update and adds rendering of shadows.
Changes in this release:
This update features a major user interface redesign that adds character portraits and item icons to the game. The following changes are included in this update:
This update fixes an issue with the main-line quest to free the Ratkin.
This update makes a few improvements. * Many (but not all) special locations will now be revealed on the minimap and overview map, using letters. They are: C = Curse removal H = Healer or temple I = Inn Q = Quest R = Recharger S = Shop * A problem with scrolling the quest window when more than 6 quests are in progress has been fixed. This window can be shown by pressing "Q". * Added a section on the escape menu settings to the manual. Its not very obvious that you can do things like change the speed of combat (combat message delay) by pressing the escape key and clicking "Settings", so I should have mentioned that. * The "ouch" sound effect for monster death was a bit silly, so I changed it to only play when a player gets knocked out. * Added a 2560x1440 resolution option to the window size settings selector.
The demo for Crossing The Sands has been updated. The main focus for this update has been getting the game ready for release (tomorrow!). The demo only includes approximately the first third of the game, so much of the new late-game content won't be visible, but there are still a lot of good game-wide content additions included in this update. If you want to play the demo and then move on to the full game later, your saved games are stored in the Steam cloud and will carry over to the full release version. Changes since last release:
Changes in this update: - Enabled clouds and changes to the sky over time. - The game now has day and night cycles, and changes in lighting levels to reflect that. - Lots of UI changes to make the game look better in all supported language translations, and visually better overall. - Added the "Log" command to combat options. It lets you see the message history in case you want to see something that happened in an earlier combat round. The keyboard shortcut for this is "L". - Buttons to buy or identify items in shops will be grayed out if the character can't afford the purchase. - More development of areas and maps. - Reduced duplicate message popups, for example trying to walk past the nomad guards to get to the plateau could previously trigger dozens of messages that would take a long time to clear if you held down the "walk forward" key for a while. - Fixed an issue with the quest window. - Translation and localization improvements.
Changes Since Last Demo:
A live stream of the Crossing The Sands demo, starting from character generation and getting as far as we can in the first hour.
Playing Crossing The Sands with some higher-level characters for more difficult fights and remote areas.
In addition to various aesthetic and visual changes in various zones of the game, these things have changed since the last build: - Added colored status icons to monster groups so you can see how injured they are. - Added split and pool buttons to shops, healer, curse remover, and recharger to make transactions more convenient. - Monsters with healing spells will now use them on allies. - You can now pay the healer to cure poison. - Much more translation progress for Portuguese and German. Translations for these languages is about 70% complete now. - Fixed a problem where clicking on a character in the status window wouldn't open the character sheet. It does now.
This demo is a very early build and there will be a LOT of content added before the full release in April 2024. However, it is a great starting point for getting a feel for the game. Feel free to share your thoughts in the discussion board and follow along as the game develops.
