Hello, wonderful people of the internet! art of rally turned 4 earlier this week, and what an incredible adventure it has been! Its been even longer, more than 7 years, since we teased the first concept gameplay for our motorsport management game, The 107% Rule. Thanks to your unwavering support, we managed to complete Absolute Drift and art of rally! And now, in 2024, we joined forces with Strelka Games to create another exciting game! Huge thanks to the amazing people that worked on the game, from artists, producers, developers, translators, marketing, community management, rally marshalls, and more. Thank you for making this dream a reality!
It's been a long time since we've announced a new game. 5 years. Lots has been happening behind the scenes with games we wanted to work on, but now we can finally show something official!

A new beta build is up, featuring 64-bit builds for Windows & OSX.

The game engine for Absolute Drift has been updated to the latest version which should bring more performance improvements. Also, the input system has been changed which should fix the Xbox One controller bugs. Please try it out and report any bugs in the forum! To Enable the Beta: 1.Go to your Steam Library and right click on Absolute Drift 2. Select “Properties” from the drop-down menu. 3. Select the “Betas” tab 4. Select the beta option in the drop-down menu. NOTE: If you get a crash on startup, delete the local content and then install the game again. Improvements:
Absolute Drift was at PAX Prime and I got to see many players try the game. I even got to see a few people who have beat it which was pretty awesome.
The most notable change is a difficulty setting. The default controls are Hard.

Last weekend I showed Absolute Drift at PAX Prime in Seattle and got to see many players try the game. I even got to see a few people who have beat it which was pretty awesome. One of the things I was reminded of is that the learning curve is very high and I also learned how frustrating the Driftkhana Tutorial is for players. Here is the new update which is in Beta. There's been a lot of feedback about the camera being too shaky/wobbly/jerky.
I've taken this into account and have updated the camera to be MUCH smoother.
The distance it looks in front of the car is now based on speed. So if the car is travelling slowly, the car will be in the middle of the screen and there will be much less wobbling.
And when the car goes faster, the camera will look further in front of the car to give a better view.

This week's update contains the new Car Customization feature!
I know that I said I wasn't going to put it in the game, but last weekend I watched this video of a Camo Nissan GT-R and said to myself: "It must be done". And so it is done.
For each car you can choose from:
-Five colors -> let me know if you have more color requests
-Three skins (some of them are placeholder skins at the moment)
You can customize cars in free-roam by driving through PAINT gates. These will select a random color & skin for you car. Inspired by the drive-through paint-shop in GTA-2

-Added a car called "Missile". Complete with bash bars & thrashed headlights.
-Optimized all car meshes -> should improve performance a little bit.
-Added car customization in the main menu & free-roam.
Fixed the bugs that were reported on the Friday update.
This week's update will bring car customization.
This week's update contains the 99%-complete free-roam area!
Many of the mountain roads were widened both in free-roam and in the levels.
There are also a few UI changes based on player feedback.
IMPORTANT: The car controls have undergone a major change.
It is easier to hold larger drifts with more angle and also harder to spin out.
I think they're way better and way more awesome, but i could be wrong.

Just updated the game to fix a progress-hindering bug with the "Jump Over the Plane" mission in World 1.
This week consisted of polishing up the levels & beginning to do a final pass of the free-roam areas. I made some changes to the camera that will hopefully make drifting a bit easier by letting you see things further in front of you so that you have more time to react. There are still some things I want to try with the camera, but let me know what you think of it now. Next week the free-roam areas should be finished and I'll start on my to-do list for the cars. Improvements: -Improved World 1 & World 2 missions. -Made World 1 & World 2 more open->there are less things to hit now. :) -Added 1 Mtn Drift Track. -Made all Mtn Drift Tracks wider. -Did another visual pass on all levels. -The ferris wheel in World 3 spins now. -Made the following changes the camera to make drifting easier: -Camera looks further ahead of the car. -The default FOV is now 70. Lots of new UI stuff this week. Including a re-done event selection screen. New Features: -the event selection has been totally redone -you can now select your car from the main menu in the event selection screen. I may put a separate option for this in the main menu, let me know what you think if you think this is a good idea! -leaderboards now display more entries. -added the ability to change songs by pressing 'tab' or 'R1'(PS4) or 'Right Bumper'(Xbox). -added the option to reset all progress. -you now return to where you chose to play a level from, so if you chose an event from the event selection screen, you will return to there after you are finished. Same goes for selecting levels from free-roam. -added small, medium & large donuts to the driftkhana levels. -added Mtn Drift 3, it's visually rough at the moment Improvements & Bug Fixes: -fixed the bug where music would be always be off when you started the game. -improved the leaderboard rank display logic. -balanced some sound effects, the bells aren't as loud now. -tweaked the handling of all cars, let me know how you like it As always, if you could take some time to give some feedback on the game it would be much appreciated.
