Upcoming Features for Cardboard Town
What's the point of building a city if no one's going to live in it, right? But who lives in a Cardboard Town? That's easy: smol, boardgame people!
As your city grows more people will walk (or hop) around the city. We're also increasing the road size to make space for cars! Traffic will not be a part of the management part of game because it sucks and we don't want that. People and cars will be purely for flavor.
You know what else sucks? Playing a card in an instant, when you didn't mean to do so. So we're adding a "Play" button as confirmation for all Action Cards.
No more discarding your whole hand by mistake.
Is what you've said during the demo. While we believe placing roads tactically and some luck factor is an important part of the game, we want to increase your options to obtain more roads. So we are adding; Road generating mayor button, more action cards and more upgrades that makes you have more roads!
Cheap Asphalt's icon is not ready, Stratera Games logo is a placeholder. ICYMI: Mayor Button is the (currently red, but actually green) button in the left corner of the screen that makes you draw a card for 4$. You can swap it with different abilities via upgrades. We've made a poll for the color of the mayor on twitter last week:
You think you've seen what this game has to offer? You're wrong! We are adding some exciting upgrades for the full version of Cardboard Town and some crazy syngeriges!
At the end of each run, you will gain points according to your building count, objective buildings completed and population. With those points; your Mayor Level will increase and you'll gain benefits. With higher mayor level, you'll be able to build bigger cities. Here's our current draft for meta progression, please let us know what you think about the level up system!
Note: this list is work in progress and could change!
Finally, we're adding some risky upgrades and action cards for daring players which will be available in the full version.
Oh by the way, our other game; Verlet Ascend is being released this week! Make sure to check it out!
That's it from us for today. We'll share another post for specific release date and final upcoming features of our game. Thank you for reading and please let us know what you think steamhappy

Want some more details?
Well, since you've scrolled this far and want to know more (thanks, by the way) let me just explain what the game is to you;
You take city-building games, add card mechanics and roguelite elements, you call it Cardboard Town (because cards and board and town, get it?) and it ends up being really cute and then you find yourself filling a Steam page, telling people about it. Cool, right?
You place Building Cards using Money and control your stats; Electricity, Water, Environment and Safety. Also, your Population determines how much Money you can have in a turn.
Not being able to handle random disasters or failing to manage your stats gets you a Red Alert, get three and you're out!
With each run you unlock more cards, obtain better stats and options and try to beat your high score!
