New gameplay trailer is ready!

Lately Ive been busy adding gameplay scenes to the game and clarifying my understanding of what kind of game Im making and what mechanics I want to implement. [previewyoutube=UUgRa0G3R1w;full][/previewyoutube] Because I want to make my story as interactive as possible, I chose a few core mechanics that are also ways to get through certain situations. Point&click: collecting and using objects, puzzles. Action scenes: fighting monsters with the help of superpowers, quicktime scenes. Stealth: you dont have to go ahead, but bypass the danger. Distract opponents and take advantage of the environment. Choice of events: in dialogues, in tactics of fighting monsters, in action scenes. Im already beginning to better understand what kind of game this Almost my floor: duality will be. There will be quite a lot of mechanics, you can fight monsters, fight them, run away, be smart and avoid dangerous situations. The main thing is I want to tell a story. the story of heroes who find themselves surrounded by fear at the worst moment of their lives. How will they cope? Depends on the player's decisions. Maybe they won't cope at all. The heroes have superpowers that contribute to the choice of a certain passage option. But they are not obliged to do so.
All images are based on the author's real fears and nightmares. Even the initial idea of the elevator taking you somewhere to an impossible floor number is one of my frequent nightmares. Feel free to add it to your wishlist if you haven't already (and it's highly recommended). This adds a lot of motivation for me as a developer.

  • Almost My Floor: Duality is a horror game with decision-making mechanics similar to "Dark Pictures" but in 2D. Endless subway mazes, cramped courtyards of high-rise buildings, and dark floors await a new victim. The game features multiple main characters, each capable of experiencing the story differently, or even not surviving at all.

    The heroes will face both internal and external threats simultaneously. Their inner demons grow stronger, engulfing their minds in depression and pain. Meanwhile, the city sinks deeper into chaos, with people vanishing without a trace, and the police seem powerless. Rumors circulate about a growing anomaly. But who believes in such things?

    Personal experiences of battling depression are woven into the game through images, stories, and thoughts. The characters, each with their own destiny and sorrow, fight differently for the right to live without the perpetual internal struggle with themselves. You must uncover the mysteries in the city, save loved ones, and not lose to your own demons.



    In a world on the edge of imagination and reality, you will have to unravel all the mysteries of a provincial town before horror consumes your mind and body. More and more inexplicable disappearances flicker in the news reports, leaving the town's residents frightened by the unknown.



    • Personal experiences of battling depression, transposed into the game. The heroes will have to confront the growing hopelessness both within themselves and from the outside.
    • Variability in gameplay. The heroes can experience the story differently, and they might not even survive at all.
    • Multiple main characters, each with their own perspective on events and unique abilities. Whether everyone will stay alive by the end of the game depends on you.
    • A combination of several genres and gameplay styles. The blend of visual novel, horror, action, and adventure will keep you engaged throughout the playthrough.
    • Storytelling in a comic style.
    • Action elements that will test your speed of reaction and sharpness of thinking.
    • For the game locations, we gathered numerous photo references. The landscapes, interiors, and characters are recognizable and colorful.



    Main characters:



    Chloe Freudgel - the daughter of a brilliant psychiatrist and scientist, who is remarkably intelligent for her age. To clear her father's name, she embarks on her own investigation.

    Masha - a simple girl from an even more provincial town. To save her beloved, she will have to unravel the city's secrets.

    Adam Trust - a private detective famous throughout the city thanks to the Freudgel case. He thought he had solved all the mysteries of House No. 9, with the criminal behind bars. But, as it turns out, not everything is so simple. The most important case in the detective's career is still unsolved.
