- Changed the wave system slightly. Having more powerful weapons/combinations will scale the difficulty of the waves dynamically

no sound when unlocking mod item
- added minus unlock cost animation to mods panel
- minus unlock cost looping in build selection
- sometimes back shortcut not working in mods panel
- holding unlock on controller and then navigating away from that button causes the unlock loop to get stuck
- pressing back during unlocking an item still unlocks the item
- mods panel, letting go of unlock mid way causes unlock panels to break when attempting to unlock again
- cannot scroll through unlocks with controller
- increased visibility and reaction of scroll bars (unlock and settings panels)
- if using controller, highlight a char with controller and another char with mouse, can unlock both at the same time
- with controller, sometimes when you visit the exit panel no button is highlighted
- during game over, tooltips lingering

Hi everyone,

New update with the following changes and fixes:

- fixed achievement triggering bug (if you experienced this bug please visit the unlocks menu)
- fixed controller not working in pause settings menu
- fixed screen going black on returning from exit panel
- increased player getting hit sound slightly
- added take damage animation
- increased size of health UI
- added health glisten animation
- decreased weapons spread values for each weapon
- added accuracy stat - weapons now have a chance to have no spread at all during fire
- added ship weapon spread and moving spread stats to build selection screen
- increased build selection description boxes + font size
- added stop moving to improve accuracy text to tutorial
- auto aim resetting bug fixed

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all the players and lovely people leaving feedback. Please keep it coming. What do you guys think of weapon overheat mechanic?

New update for the demo with a few small fixes and changes:

- centered cursor in menus and in game
- added back button to settings menu
- added option to show heat bar on player
- added settings panel to pause menu
- sped up fade from black animation
- remove all confirm buttons > make back = confirm (mods menu, settings menu, etc)
- add achievements to demo

I have added 8 achievements to the demo. These achievements and the way you unlock them will reflect how they should be in the final game.

Cosmic Carnage DEMO is LIVE

Hi everyone,

Firstly i'd like to thank all my playtesters for playing and giving me some valuable feedback of the game. I have been working very hard on the demo for the steam next fest. I have made a huge number of changes and general improvements to the game since the playtest. The list can be found below:


- change camera follow default to 0.8, change bloom default to 0.4
- implement camera follow & bloom options
- make new text bigger on carnage level + add sound
- attempt your first run unlock didn't work
- next difficulty unlock didn't work
- cant unlock for mods items sound is very loud
- click with mouse on mods panel, no lastselectedgameobject is set
- cant unlock anim for other chars and ships playing twice
- unlock panel not loading correctly - missing script
- change sprites of all UI icons in the game
- chars and ships that cant be unlocked don't do the cant unlock animation with controller
- remove scroll to select component when using mouse/keyboard
- quickstart on first time not working
- added mouse support to all menus when controller is plugged in
- with controller connected, mouse still showing but locked during gameplay
- add sounds to changing settings
- changeitem and a few other sounds are not assigned to any buses

- There seems to be bullet size inconsistencies when acquiring the upgrade which provides 100% of bullets are bigger in size
- The damage numbers dont seem to update when acquiring upgrades other than the 50% damage boost (e.g. 20% damage boost for each shield)
- click exit game, back, then exit game again with controller buttons are not selectable
- exp clumping together does not remove original exp orbs fast enough
- add sound to EXP clumping together
- fix movement speed upgrade not working
- spamming enter when upgrade screen is up allows you to upgrade multiple times
- make elite enemies come from level 5 instead of 10
- add discord button to game
- upgrade icons in pause menu / end game go offscreen > add to vertical / horizontal layout groups
- if the enemy will die in the next hit > no points should be awarded for status effects
- enemies hit with decimate stop moving when they respawned
- add carnage level to game over panel
- unlock diff 5 kept getting unlocked when playing on difficulty 5
- added carnage level to pause menu
- follow black hole tries to suck up the boss
- increase duration of shield
- reduce cool down for pulse
- make pulse do 3 pulses in quick succession
- collected the capsule during end game cutscene, reward menu popped up
- trail doesn't show when exps are clumping together
- lots of trails started showing everywhere > deactivate trails after collecting EXP
- unlock difficulty BG is white
- increase bigger bullet chance (from 20% to 50%)
- bigger bullets are too big for breach and scatter
- multiple weapon icons showing in the wrong place > reorder them when activating a weapon icon
- fix enter/exit animation for build selection and game over panel screens
- ability ready particles are in the wrong place for 16:10 aspect ratio (1.59 == 16:10, 1.77 == 16.9)
- carnage level upgrade BG is missing
- delay multiple unlock during end game cutscene when new difficulty is unlocked
- still can press A or Enter lots of times when max upgrade animation is playing
- pressing confirm (A / Enter) or navigating during max upgrade animation is still playing the sounds
- re-aligned weapon heat bars to work on other aspect ratios [STEAMDECK]
- ability and weapons icons in bottom left corner are not in line [STEAMDECK]
- difficulty setting in wrong location [STEAMDECK]
- start button is using the select button instead [STEAMDECK]
- during max upgrade animation > select upgrade text is still visible at the top of the screen [STEAMDECK]

Cosmic Carnage Playtest is LIVE

After 6 months of development in my free time. I have finally completed the first stable build of Cosmic Carnage. This playtest shouldn't be too far off the demo version. I just wanted to catch any bugs in this playtest in order to release a more stable demo.

Thank you for anyone that has the chance to try out the game and leaving feedback. I hope you enjoyed playing the game as much as I enjoyed making it.
