Making progress

Just a little update. I'm adding steam to the steam locomotives and will soon be adding the tenders too. I haven't posted anything in quite a while so I thought I'd make a little post here.

Game is going full steam ahead. Planning on release later this year. There will be a demo in the coming months.

Right I have to fix some bugs and add some basic features. The good news is just about all the little things have been done. Just big things left for the most part. The little things are 90% of everything really.

Any feed back is welcome. Thank you all for giving the game a look.

New trailer and screen shots

Deep in the game dev as always. I uploaded a new trailer and screen shots for everyone to have a look at. If I am lucky I'll be in closed BETA next month, Feb 2024. Lots of work left to do. I'm nearing the end of it finally. I wish the trailer turned out better. I wanted to show off the planes more. Show what its like to have a hub airport with all 3 run ways in use.

The game will hopefully be sent off to the publisher in a few weeks. I got high hopes for this game. Thank you all for the wish lists. It means a whole lot.

The should be finished up later this year. There is a whole lot more to do. I'm hoping I'm nearing the end of bug fixing. I've had to go back and fix so many.

Thank you all for being in the community hub.

Tell me what you are looking forward to in the game.

Year end Dev Update

Progress on the game is still moving along. I have the trains, trucks, small planes and large planes in the game now. There is still more work to be done before the game goes into closed BETA. I'm hoping on having the game in closed BETA and sent off to the publisher some time in January. Aiming for release some time in the new year.

New trailer and screen shots some time next month. There are 17 large planes in the game now. A good selection from all the decades. I may add more small planes and trains before release.

The tileset will be redone before release. There is a whole lot of polish left to do. I am hoping the game will be in a playable state in a months time. With save games and a passenger system.

Ships will be added after the BETA.

Trains, small planes, trucks and large planes are all just about finished up now. The trains where by far the most work.

Leave a comment if you have any questions. I'll try to respond to them all.

Dev AMA

New trailer and screen shots are up. The Epic Trains series was always inspired by the Transport Tycoon series. This is the first game that is taking it into depth.

What are you looking for in this game? What features are a must?

I'm going for a fully functional transport game. I'm hoping to make the signals more simple for new players. Signals are really just busy work and a problem for new players to have to deal with. So this game will be streamlined a bit. Otherwise it should have the same depth.

Tell me what you think. I'd love to hear feedback. This is my 20'th published game. I've been at this for a long time.

Random dev update

Wrote some good code last night. The drag and drop trains and wagons code in Epic Trains 4 is better coded and has more functionality then what is in OpenTTD. This is going to be a great game.

What is on the store page now is very basic. The game is barely in a functional state at this point. I'm hoping to have the trains finished up in the next few days and move on to the automobiles and planes. If I can do it those will be done by the end of next month and there will be version 2 of the trailer up on the store page for everyone to have a look at.

This is my 20'th game. I know game dev.

Just giving a little update on how the game is going.
