Hello, Daedalus no escape has reached a point where there is almost no online activity and no new players. At the same time I still have to pay and maintain 2 servers so that players who buy the game now have what they paid for. This situation is no longer sustainable for me as an independent developer, so I took the decision to shut down the servers and make the game free to play. The game will remain playable and it will always be possible for anyone to start his own server to be able to play with friends. It is just that there will be no more "default" servers with bots to connect to. This change will occur in about a week. Maybe setting the game as free will bring new players and bring a second life to it ... let's hope so ! Thanks to everyone who supported me and bought the game ! Cheers, Patrice.

Update 1.0.13 - new achievements + bug fix

Hi, there was quite a lot of activity on the servers this weekend and this brought a bug into the light: Some of you may have noticed that when connecting a server that is running non official maps, after the map is downloaded from the server it happened that the game was crashing. This should be now fixed. What happened was simply that the downloaded file was corrupted during the download, depending on the network conditions ... If you still encounter this issue after this update, don't hesitate to post in the bug reports part of the forum. I took also the opportunity of this update to add some new achievements: - new online rank goals when reaching the 100th, 50th, 20th, 10th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the leaderboard






- new kill goals of 5000, 10000 and 20000 ( good luck with this one ;) )


- new melee attack goal of 500

Update 1.0.12 - Online leaderboard !

Hi there, Quite a long time with no update so here comes a new one ! This update features mainly a brand new online ranking system. Basically each time you play on the official online servers, the outcome of the match will be used to determine your skill level ( using the trueskill algorythm ). This works versus human players but also versus bots. 467 bots with unique characteristics have been created and are playing on the online servers. Their stats and skill are persisted the same way as for human players, so even if you can't find anyone playing online, you can still play versus the bots to increase your skill and your online rank. Will you be able to beat the bots ? The leaderboard is available in the game but also on the official website: http://www.daedalus-thegame.com/leaderboard.php
Another little update is that when respawning, you are now invisible to the bots during one second and a half. This prevents the bots from spawn killing ! With this update comes a new dedicated server available here: http://www.daedalus-thegame.com/download/servers/daedalus-server-1.0.12.jar I hope you will like this update and will visit the online servers a bit more often ;) Cheers, Patrice.

Hi ! I just published another small update that features:

  • new health boost power up: increases progressively your health up to 200 points during 30 seconds
  • new speed power up: increases your firing rate and movement speed by 35% during 20 seconds
I updated some of the official maps to include these power ups. Update 1.0.7 ... instagib + demo !

hey, Thanks a lot to everybody participating on the forum ! There are a lot of great ideas discussed, and this update is bringing to life 2 of them: instagib and dark arena modifiers.

Changelog 1.0.7


  • instagib modifier in singleplayer and multi: option available in all the game modes that allows to kill in one shot using a modified railgun ( more powerful and with a faster firerate )
  • dark arena modifier in singleplayer and multi: option available in all the game modes to turn off the lights in the maps ... allows crazy fights in the dark!
  • separated player speed and bot speed options in skirmish
  • fixes classic control mode aiming issue when crosshair close to the player
  • loading indicator at startup

Until now the demo of Daedalus - No Escape was available only on the official website, and the issue was that a lot of players were not aware of its existence. Here is the changelog: - gamepad support (XBOX 360 only) - new high refresh rate display option, to support monitors with a frequency > 60Hz - fixed memory issues, plus various bugs in the editor - fixed error reading local score file at startup - fixed various minor issues (typo ...) The gamepad support is brand new, it has been successfully tested on windows and Linux. If you have a mac with a xbox 360 controller and it's not working in the game (but it's working in other games), please post a message on the forum. The gamepad support is generic and more controllers can be supported via config file. I'll post a guide soon on how to create them. cheers

Hello, I just published version 1.0.1 of the game, it fixes: - OSX 10.10 run issue: the game was not starting at all - team change during a multiplayer team match - minor issues on map CTF 02 (missing part of a wall) - some other bugs I received via crash logs If you can't find any server, please verify that your game version is 1.0.1 (it's written at the bottom left of the menu screen), if you still have the previous version restart steam to trigger the update.
