Hello, Daedalus no escape has reached a point where there is almost no online activity and no new players. At the same time I still have to pay and maintain 2 servers so that players who buy the game now have what they paid for. This situation is no longer sustainable for me as an independent developer, so I took the decision to shut down the servers and make the game free to play. The game will remain playable and it will always be possible for anyone to start his own server to be able to play with friends. It is just that there will be no more "default" servers with bots to connect to. This change will occur in about a week. there was quite a lot of activity on the servers this weekend and this brought a bug into the light:
Some of you may have noticed that when connecting a server that is running non official maps, after the map is downloaded from the server it happened that the game was crashing. This should be now fixed. What happened was simply that the downloaded file was corrupted during the download, depending on the network conditions ...
If you still encounter this issue after this update, don't hesitate to post in the bug reports part of the forum.
I took also the opportunity of this update to add some new achievements:
- new online rank goals when reaching the 100th, 50th, 20th, 10th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the leaderboard
- new kill goals of 5000, 10000 and 20000 ( good luck with this one ;) )
- new melee attack goal of 500
For the map download bug fix I had to update the networking protocol so here is the link to the new dedicated server version:

This update features mainly a brand new online ranking system. Basically each time you play on the official online servers, the outcome of the match will be used to determine your skill level ( using the trueskill algorythm ). This works versus human players but also versus bots.
467 bots with unique characteristics have been created and are playing on the online servers. Their stats and skill are persisted the same way as for human players, so even if you can't find anyone playing online, you can still play versus the bots to increase your skill and your online rank.
Will you be able to beat the bots ?
The leaderboard is available in the game but also on the official website:

Another little update is that when respawning, you are now invisible to the bots during one second and a half. This prevents the bots from spawn killing !
With this update comes a new dedicated server available here:

The gamepad support is brand new, it has been successfully tested on windows and Linux. If you have a mac with a xbox 360 controller and it's not working in the game (but it's working in other games), please post a message on the forum. The gamepad support is generic and more controllers can be supported via config file. I'll post a guide soon on how to create them. cheers

Hello, I just published version 1.0.1 of the game, it fixes: - OSX 10.10 run issue: the game was not starting at all - team change during a multiplayer team match - minor issues on map CTF 02 (missing part of a wall) - some other bugs I received via crash logs If you can't find any server, please verify that your game version is 1.0.1 (it's written at the bottom left of the menu screen), if you still have the previous version restart steam to trigger the update.
