Hello! I don't have a funny intro this time, sorry. The budget for me to stand under the shower for 30 minutes to think of something at least slightly amusing is running out - which is to say that my neighbors seem to be doing something with the water, causing it to reach burning temperatures at oscillating time intervals for me, so I had to get out of there fast. Speaking of budgets running out, that just so happens to align with what we're looking at today. When business isn't booming and your only customers consist of folks which get themselves blown up on 1-2 because they can't let go of boost for one second, entrepreneurs need to take matters into their own hands:

Lady Luck: Shopkeep

The trusty SHOPKEEP known for selling used underwear at 40000$ a piece is taking it upon herself to hit the road. SHOPKEEP is a bit of a special character, starting the game out with the worst stats possible, with exactly a single star in every trait. This power difference can be made up through the shop, in which she uniquely has a discount. These traits make early game performance crucial, and cause her to be a bit of a snowball character, as she'll be able to amass more items than other characters.
Her special makes use of the massive one-armed bandit strapped on the back of the vehicle. For the cost of a bit of health, you can take a spin and see what fate intends for you, causing a random effect to occur.
These effects have a very broad range in effectiveness and can be negative or positive - or maybe somewhere in the middle. Temporary invulnerability, healing, spontaneous combustion with an explosion that allows you to take everyone else with you or maybe even an orbital strike - anything's in store (except the SHOPKEEP).

General Development Update

As far as a generic update on development of this game goes, things have been going smoothly and as planned! I'm currently working on adding some new base upgrades to the game, as well as some jobs. Now that I went through a bunch of characters, I'll try to write about the other systems in the full version of the game as time comes. For now, take a look at this very cool frog.
