We heard your first feedback and implemented some of it!

Update 0.5.3 brings these improvements:

Deselecting Tiles Although technically not "necessary", this does a lot for the feel of the game!
An in-game hint to discarding tiles in case you want to end your turn with too many tiles.
Some minor bug fixes here and there
