Since Sarantales class had won the poll, we decided to dedicate all our time and effort to making a larger portion of the Azaries-Sarantales unique story and class-exclusive content instead of releasing small portions of content for every in-game class simultaneously. Thus, get ready to find out more about Ahros, his feelings, personality and motivation! Were so thrilled to finally show you what this young talented omverai was up to while Azaries was encountering the first foes on her journey! Current status of the upcoming update (percentage indicates the amount of content ready): 80% of text/dialogs and 60% of EN localization; 93% of sprites and backgrounds; Weve already created basis for the new battles and optional encounters; Were currently revising and updating existing localization (including other two classes); Some tweaks and fixes for the UI are currently being tested. Also, several new characters will be introduced and more details about characters already familiar to players will be revealed. If you paid attention to Niravel during the journey, be prepared for surprises!
Important notice regarding event-exclusive allies
Weve been discussing the idea of implementation of the event-exclusive unlockable allies on our Discord server and some of our community members criticized the concept of limited-time event-exclusive characters due to possible emergence of balance issues, as well as inequality based on persisting impossibility of obtaining some of the characters under discussion due to different real-life issues. Also, some of our players expressed concerns regarding possible introduction of paid DLC-packs with event allies, which could potentially ruin the very essence of the in-game combat mechanics, making the battles too easy for those who purchased additional support characters. Worry not! Were not pursuing any of the malicious malpractices introduced by some companies. Moreover, we will never sacrifice the quality of our game to temporarily boost the sales of HotA! Thus, were not integrating any premium features that can potentially turn our game into pay-to-win garbage! Arteya, as well as any other possibly introduced event-exclusive allies, will be available to everyone via completion of special side stories and/or meeting certain in-game requirements. Once you accomplish the series of objectives and/or successfully beat certain side stories, you will unlock a special achievement granting Azaries ability to summon the event character(s) during combat and exploit their expertise. Depending on the power and/or possible impact of the event characters, some of them will require collecting some materials, purchasing in-game artifacts, unlocking achievements, speaking with certain characters. In order to get the most powerful and valuable companions, you must find, undertake and successfully accomplish a series of exciting side stories, which will put Azaries skills to the test. These days Nanraas celebrates the Night of Full Veerima. Weve already discovered some exciting details about its customs, traditions and background. If you missed the previous post about this wonderful festivity, youd better find it and read the amazing story about this Halloween-like holiday which is celebrated by all sentient species around Nanraas!
To commemorate this important event, were adding charming Arteya* to the pool of available in-game allies! Her tender magic and energetic personality will make Azaries adventures even more exciting and enjoyable! This green ahnor-like ally will be willing to join your party up to November the 5th, no matter which save file youll load! However, there some important prerequisites of getting this invaluable new ally:
- Update the game! Arteya can be unlocked only in the newest version of the game!
- Load any available save file or start a new game during the special event period (Event period: October 28th November 5th)
- Save the game with Full Veerima Arteya unlocked as your new ally! (Once unlocked, the event character will be added to the pool of the selectable allies)
Features:
Arteya is a female psio-ahnor character, so she has skills and abilities similar to those Azaries pet ahnor uses in battle**. Since she is an ahnorrai ahnor precursor species she has got some specific features, as well as pros and cons of her own. Learn how to use your new combat ally and devise brand-new tactics and strategies!

*Arteya is an exclusive Halloween event character. In order to unlock her, the players must launch the game during the event period and watch the event-exclusive short cutscene featuring Arteya and the ahnor. Once the event is concluded on the 5th of November, players wont be able to unlock Arteya after the scheduled update. Be advised, Arteya is not guaranteed to return as a reoccurring bonus character during the next Halloween event.
**Additional balance fixes may be applied during the next updates to adjust the combat efficiency of the new character.
New content/features: 1)Elveos flashback into her childhood has been integrated into the game. It allows the players to better understand her motivation and desire to investigate the ancient temple encountered by Azaries and her companions during their travels. Currently, flashback can only be triggered by loading matching save file and cannot be accessed via Memories menu. 2)UA and ENG localizations have been improved; all reported typos and inconsistencies have been fixed. 3)Some minor UI improvements. Developers commentaries: Despite being aggressive, reckless, hateful and even a bit overwhelming from time to time, Elveos is not just a simple rebellious musclehead, and her life has never been a bowl of cherries. Moreover, her past is enshrouded in mystery and her future depends on her resolve and the daughters duty she must fulfill. Newly introduced flashback will let the players dive into the hardships of her childhood and decide on the outcome of her secretly planned vendetta.

Around a week ago we released the first large content patch that featured continuation of the main story and concluded Act I for all three possible classes of the main character. Thus, time has come to turn the next page of Azaries epic adventures and start working on the Act II!
However, life is never a bowl of cherries, and despite were trying to do our best to speed up the development process and bring you the top-notch exciting content as soon as possible, we clearly realize that we, unfortunately, cant compete with larger studious. After carefully analyzing the situation, weve come to the conclusion that due to limited resources, psychological and physical pressure in the conditions of the warfare, and other certain real-life issues (for example, long-lasting blackouts and air raid alerts), simultaneous development of equally interesting, exciting and engaging class-exclusive stories will be utterly difficult and outmost hard-to-realize endeavor. We dont want to make empty promises and then constantly apologize for every single delay and relatively small portions of content that took too long to develop and deliver.
Thus, were offering you a different approach: instead of adding small bits of the main story and corresponding quests/encounters every 4-6 month for all three classes simultaneously, were planning on focusing our efforts on developing one class-exclusive route at a time. It will allow us to bring you a whole Act II portion of the game for a single class at a time with completed main story, corresponding side stories, exclusive encounters and much more! Moreover, its up to you to decide on which class is going to get the next major update! Once the Act II is concluded for the chosen class, the next poll will be rolled out to choose the next development priority and so on.
Worry not! Despite having similar core of the main story, all three classes will get their exclusive content based on Azaries decisions, karma, relationships with her companions and characters met, worldview and the playstyle of the gamer behind the curtains.

Most of our players are aware of the differences between Azaries classes, but wed like to remind you of some of them, including exclusive events, side storylines and certain unique characters/setups.
Sarantales
After the event of the Prologue, Azaries decided to develop the strength of her body as well as obtain some new knowledge essential to her future profession. The Way of Balance requires significant physical and mental resilience and efforts to achieve harmony, which is considered the true mastery of the sarantales. Master Nandaar had some doubts regarding the true motives, purity and capabilities of the young neophyte, but he appreciated the strength of her spirit and will, thus he gave her a chance to prove herself. Azaries managed to complete the trial and departed to the Sarantales HQ to become a full-fledged member of the organization. Azaries is about to face many challenges on the way to her dream, and one of them is the current condition of the sarantales itself. You will help Azaries to face and deal with the crisis and corruption within the organization she considered a true paragon. She will have to prove that she is worthy to become one of the glorious defenders of peace and prosperity of Nanraas, or even become their leader! This balanced class is known for its resilience and large amount of HP. Sarantaleses usually show great patience and dedication on the battlefield, exploit weakness of their enemies and use mid-power forces of nature type AoE attacks.
Aegisologist (Aegis Scholar)
Thanks to her unmatched intelligence and unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Azaries bested all her classmates and even teachers in no time and quickly became one of the smartest and most promising students in High Circles. Scientific approach and zeal for endless research of the world around greatly impacted her personality and shaped the dream of her life to enter the university of Malaander the best residence of knowledge and power of the city of Ahret. However, her mentor Ahnelle and her secrets might ruin Azaries plans and even endanger her life. Since its next to impossible to enter the university without a recommendation signed by a vivid scholar, Azaries must unveil the mysteries of the past and solve a dangerous puzzle of intrigues and vanity Or leave it as it is, for her own sake You will help Azaries to find out more about Ahnelles past and clear her good name, as well as to investigate the mysteries of the Mortenian Incident and find the mastermind behind it! This support class rarely engages enemies directly due to lack of physical strength and resilience, but it exploits the miraculous abilities granted by the Emderat an ancient artifact given to Azaries by her mentor Ahnelle that helps the Aegis scholar not only boost the attacks of her allies and apply effects that help her control the battlefield, but also use powerful psio-abilities.
Nental
The events of Azaries childhood taught her one important thing: might makes right, and if not than you are not strong enough. Due to constantly being bullied, she learned to protect herself. Since teenling cant fight older omveri on equal terms, she created her own combat style based on her agility, dexterity and exploiting the objects of the world around. When she met an old nental agent Antran Ilmerid, he perfected her combat abilities by opening the secrets of the rilsa attacks, which were designed specifically for fighting omveri foes. Her training and endless brawls with local goons, thugs and bullies made her realize that she was capable of becoming a full-fledged nental agent. Once she gained some valuable experience, Azaries joined the city guards of her native town. However, due to the legendary mask of Urmon Dars has been stolen by an unidentified thief, new recruits are temporary not allowed to join the nental. Azaries must find the artifact that belonged to the founder of the nental and unveil the mysteries behind the theft. This aggressive damage dealer class features relatively low HP but extremely powerful offensive skills and abilities. Azaries-nental deals multiple precise attacks that form combos and debuff her foes*. -------

Main plot
Sarantales and Nental have finally received continuation of the main story that concludes Act 1 for both these classes! This update offers up to 3* hours of epic encounters, fateful revelations, secrets of ancient civilizations, expansion of lore, and much more! Azaries adventures are getting even more dramatic since the mystery of her violet eyes is about to get unveiled! Why is this little silver omverai of such an importance to the mysterious stranger? What hidden abilities is Azaries about to awake and master? Were so much excited to let you solve these incredible puzzles in the new update!
Moreover, this isnt all weve got for you! Aside from continuation of the main story, weve also unlocked an alternative route for Azaries-nental. Will you be able to find it? Could she possibly avoid all those dramatic events of the main route if she was a little bit more confident? A good fight is always a way to stimulate ones courage and confidence, dont you think? Hey, isnt that big red bully the best candidate for ye ol good punch in the face? She is definitely going to remember this lesson! Not even once, if you ask me. The alternative nental-exclusive route differs from the main one and is more suitable for players who prefer a more aggressive way of solving problems. As a bonus, you can find out more about Niravel, her motivation and background! However, be advised that Elveos flashback that allows you dive into her childhood is still WIP and will be fully implemented at a later date. In case if you are going to unlock it regardless, its full version will soon be available at the More section of the Memories menu! Main plot of the Aegis Scholar mostly remains the same. However, a few minor changes were made to the dialogs to fix some logical inconsistencies.
Balance
Sarantales:
Base HP has been increased: 180 => 220 Lvlup bonus HP has been increased: 40 => 45 Base power of the fire breath has been decreased Base power of the tail strike has been decreased, but the formula now takes into consideration the number of enemies engaged in battle. Basically speaking, the more enemies sarantales fights against, the higher the power of her tail strike would be. Base power of the claws attack has been increased.
Aegis Scholar:
Base HP has been increased: 170 => 210 Lvlup bonus HP has been increased: 35 => 40 Initial damage of the Emderat has been decreased by 25%. However, this artifact will receive much better atk+ lvlup bonuses.
Nental:
Base HP has been increased: 160 => 200 Lvlup bonus HP has been increased: 30 => 35 Reelsa attacks now deal 10% damage.
Combat:
Ralvia:
Base HP has been increased: 470 => 490 Power of the ultimate ability has been decreased: 160 => 100 Important notice: lvl difference greatly impacts the damage dealt/received by the characters and their foes. Developers commentaries: Weve received a lot of valuable feedback regarding the difficulties the new players encounter while playing on Classic difficulty level. Azaries-nental proved to be the most hardcore character to master due to her skills being less effective vs non-omveri enemies. Thus, weve decided to increase base HP value of all classes, as well as boost nentals base attack value. Important notice: be advised that nentals skills are temporary not working as intended.
Other changes
(Performance) Game performance has been optimized when rendering some complex scenes/encounters. (Fixes) A few extremely rare sprites-related bugs have been fixed. (Visuals) Some backgrounds and character sprites have been improved/optimized. (Visuals) Interface and the debuffs displaying window have been tweaked and improved. (Localization) More than a hundred of typos and inconsistencies have been fixed in UA and ENG localizations. Some large dialog lines have been optimized for better understanding and sync with the scenes. These are not all the changes that await you in this content update! Despite being bound by the same main plotline, each class features unique events, encounters, choices, combat options and even locations to visit.

Greetings, brave explorers of Nanraas! This summer is surprisingly filled with dog days and hard new challenges, but were doing our best to roll out the upcoming plot update on time! Moreover, were currently polishing it to get rid of bugs and inconsistencies. The release of the continuation of Sarantales and Nental exclusive plot branches is planned on August (estimated release date: the second part of the month). However, to give you a gist of the tech improvements and tweaks of the upcoming update, were releasing a pre-patch.
Whats pre-patch?
Since the method of pre-patching the game before releasing substantial portion of new content is widely spread among the other developers, weve decided to use it to keep the game up to date by introducing smaller QoL improvements, tweaks, revamped mechanics, updated existing content, interface changes and much more. Despite stating the introduction of the smaller things, its actually a big, complex and important patch that prepares the game for the upcoming content and smooths the implementation of new mechanics and improvement the existing ones. Since these changes are important, weve decided to separate them from the major content update.
Patch notes:
1) Balance improvements. Weve introduces improved combat interface and damage calculation system that should make the overall combat experience much more transparent and understandable for the players. Thus, players will be able to better understand the class theyve chosen and its peculiarities, as well as the current combat stats of Azaries, her party mates and foes encountered. Sarantales. This class is a Tank with vast amount of HP and relatively weak AoE attacks of the normal type. The power of the Sarantales attacks depends on the number of enemies engaged in battle (the more enemies attack Azaries, the stronger her attacks become). Thanks to perfect physiques and dedicated training, she can often use her Fire Breath ability to deal bonus damage to the enemies with the weakness to the Forces of Nature attacks. Aegisologist. This outstandingly smart but physically weak Support class rarely engages the enemies directly. Instead, Azaries relies on the might of her allies and recruited characters by awaking their true power via buffs and tactical commands. She has an ancient artifact in her possession the Emderat. This mysterious piece of ancient tech grants her relatively weak psio-abilities that can be further upgraded and customized. Aegis Scholars main ability now triples the attack of her allies. Nental. This deadly-dangerous but fragile Damage Dealer practically eradicates the omveri foes due to her training and massive bonuses vs her own species. However, dealing with other enemy types might be relatively difficult in the beginning of her journey, so she must rely on her allies instead of her blades. Nevertheless, further training and carefully selected combat buddies might turn her into unstoppable assassin capable of delivering devastating blows to her enemies from the shadows. 2) Narration difficulty level has been improved by adding the x2 multiplier that boosts the stats of Azaries and her party mates. This important upgrade is aimed at making the gameplay way smoother and much more convenient for all players who experience difficulties fighting strong plot-related opponents and/or dealing with the optional monsters on the world map. Important: x2 boost excludes almost all possibilities of losing the battle except for certain scenarios that require the player to perform certain actions, remain/not remain idle, use items/artifacts. All Narration difficulty level save files will automatically have the x2 bonus applied. Try to unlock x3 boost! However, players who choose higher difficulty levels will we rewarded with unlockable bonuses, unique scenes, events, quests and gear. This feature is aimed at improving replayability of the game, as well as introducing New Game+ feature once the game reaches version 1.0. Full list of the unlockable content will be published at a later date. 3) Weve added the new Attack Menu, which displays the current values of Azaries and her allies attack and all factors that positively and/or negatively impact it. It can be access via Character menu for Azaries and via Diary for all other characters. In order to see the attack of the certain character, you should first increase their level of affection. All save files should automatically apply the feature, but if you still cant see the data and/or menu, try fighting any foe. Once the battle is concluded, the Attack Menu should become available. 4) Multiple fixes and tweaks of the localization packages. All reported typos and missing translation have been fixes/implemented. Localization of some rare routes (battle with manicaluu) has been updated. Missing synchronization of Ukrainian VA and the text has been fixed (a couple of rare routes/events). 5) Dialogs skip mode now functions properly. Due to the integration of combat elements into our game, excessive use of dialogs skip button could cause certain bugs, glitches and even solf/hardlocks in certain scenarios. Weve tested this function and corrected all critical issues and bugs weve encountered. However, we still recommend you save the game before skipping vast amounts of dialogs/scenarios to prevent any possible issues. Fixed bugs/issues: Fixed the bug that prevented the skip mode from being forcefully disengaged in certain scenarios and game modes (global map, static scenarios, etc.) and/or completely disabling it in settings. Now the skip mode can be enabled again once the event/scenario concludes. Now skip mode cant be enabled in settings menu, but the function itself can be access during gameplay. Skipped dialogs counter is unique to every save file. If the player enabled skip mode and encountered an event/scenario which temporary disabled it, the function will be automatically reinitiated once the even/scenario concludes. 6) Multiple visual improvements and interface tweaks have been applied. Weve also introduced the first set of hotkeys for better gameplay experience. 7) All reported bugs/glitches have been fixed.
All known plot-related inconsistencies regrading missing reaction of some characters to the events/decisions made will be fixed in the August update.
The long-awaited continuation of the main story is coming next! We must complete the Chapter 1 for all classes to get prepared for the upcoming event weve planned. Oh, and what will it be? Weve collected valuable feedback since the early access release of our game on Steam, and now were ready to share more details about whats coming next!
Completing the Chapter One of the Sarantales and Nental routes is our top priority
As you may have already noticed, currently only Aegis Scholar (aka Aegisologist) route has got proper ending of the Chapter One. This campaign greatly differed from the other two due to Azaries decision to Oh-huh, no spoilers, ha-ha! Were currently working on a whole bunch of new branching dialogs and two epic combat encounters for two other classes respectively. Thus, the ending of the Chapter One will be full of events, new discoveries and mysteries to solve! Azaries will find out more about the ancient technology and its connection to the color of her eyes, as well as her visions and nightmares. Also, weve fixed major plot inconsistencies discovered and reported by our players. For example, Azaries Dad will comment on her decision to leave her companions behind and travel on her own, as well as he would scold her for being a maverick and breaking their agreement (in case if Gherstie was also left behind).

This big red tomboy easily gets the first place among the most hated characters of the game, but is there more than meets the eye about this seemingly simple-minded daredevil? Wed better not jump to conclusions. If such a hooligan might have a backstory to tell. Do you remember some of the characters mentioning her father? OK-OK, no more spoilers! Also, Niravel is not simply a mindless Elveos minion, but tender and complex personality. Since many players liked her, well unveil some of her past and continue her story in the upcoming update. One of the most important QoL improvement of the combat system will be the updated Azaries Diary that will display the combat characteristics of Azaries, her party mates and unlockable allies, including short description of the parameters that impact each value and the list of pros and cons of every attack type. For example: 1) Base attack value. This is the main attack value of the main character that increases with each level obtained. 2) Friendship bonus. This value is applied to the Azaries allies base attack value and depends on the affection level of the specific character. Affection level (level of friendship) can be increased during loyalty missions, side stories, by making certain decisions and/or interacting with the characters. 3) Mastery level. This parameter affects Azaries attack and increases when she uses her offensive skills (the more often the skills is used, the higher its mastery level will be). 4) Difficulty level multiplier. This parameter affect the attack/defense of Azaries and her companions, as well as the parameters of the majority of foes. Narration difficulty allows to adjust the multiplier to balance the combat element of the game to your liking. Classical Difficulty and Dangerous World modes do not allow to alter the difficulty level multiplier and offer more hardcore combat. Since some of the players requested the possibility to skip battles/disable combat system, weve been discussing possible changes within our team. Combat is the core element and one of the major distinguishing features of our game, which is deeply integrated into both the gameplay and the story, so completely disabling it will cut off a significant portion of story-based gameplay, so we decided to seek the alternatives. Thus, currently were offering our players a more flexible Narration mode, which lets everyone make the encounters more enjoyable and less stressful. Moreover, such control over the power of Azaries and her companions also makes it easier to check all available options in certain battles. Were planning to release the update in August, 2024. (Critical) Fixed the beginning of the fight with the Golem for Azaries-nental. Now it starts correctly. (Critical) Fixed an issue with the health bar of some enemies. (Balance) The probability of AL-12s self-repair sequence activation has been decreased from 50% to 30%. (Balance) Each time AL-12 uses self-repair sequence, its effectiveness is decreased by 30 HP. For example, the first self-repair cycle restores 70 HP, the second one restores 40 and so on. However, self-repair sequence cannot restore less than 10 HP. (Balance) Sarantales base attack value has been increased by 20%. (Balance) Swamp Swarmers base attack value has been reduced by 10%. (Balance) Swarm Swarmers base HP value has been reduced: 1700 => 1400 (Balance) The Level of Danger that triggers instant defeat is now 5, which allows for more frequent attacks. Weve been doing our best to fix all the reported bugs, glitches, typos and inconsistencies asap. Thanks to the hard work of our beta version testers, there were only few of them. Since now the current build of the game is stable and doesnt require any serious tweaking/rebalancing, wed like to share some future development plans with you. Some developers call it a roadmap, but due to the hilariously contagious practice of breaking the promises and failing the deadlines by some infamous teams, wed better avoid this term.
Large sarantales- and nental-focused content update that will conclude Chapter 1
Unfortunately, due to countless issues that include full-fledged war thats raging all over our country and its impact on multiple aspects of our life (blackouts, unavailability of some equipment, air raid alerts and so on), we didnt manage to finish and polish the second part of Chapter 1 (we mean Chapter 1 of the game, not the game itself) of two above-mentioned classes. The first large content update is planned to be released in July-August 2024. This update will deepen the differences between classes even more, thus eliminating most of the common features of the nental and sarantales routes, making them unique and self-sustained. Also, were planning on implementing some Quality of Life (QoL) changes aimed at improving the gameplay, UI and controls in general. Thus, were currently working on the clickable screen that will be displaying Azaries current attack power value. This feature will let the players see all the parameters that positively and negatively impact Azaries attack power and use this knowledge to further improve this value by changing the setup, gear, equipping/discarding cards/artifacts/using potions, etc. Also, similar menu will be available in Azaries Diary in the pages of her allies and combat buddies, displaying valuable information about their attacks, skills, abilities. This feature will also clarify the impact of Azaries relationships with the characters on their combat effectiveness.
Upcoming poll that will decide on which route we will prioritize
After the first large content update, well have to temporary prioritize one of the class routes over the other two to accelerate its development in terms of story writing, gameplay features implementation and new chapters integration. It doesnt mean that were going to completely abandon the other classes for the time being, but we think that delivering a large portion of consistent, polished and well-balanced 3-to-4 hours long one class-exclusive story is better than releasing small bits of 20-to-30 minutes of all three classes storylines. Once the prioritized route is concluded, well hold another poll to prioritize the content development and to focus on one of two remaining classes. Corresponding polls will be held on Discord, Twitter, Telegram and some other media platformed, each of them will be announced beforehand.

(General fixes and improvements) A rare bug connected with the inability to retain learnt skills and abilities when saving the game at the global or local (city) map has been fixes. *Description: when a save file is loaded, the last learnt Azaries skills are no longer marked as learnt and the skill points spent are returned. The game was saved right after distributing the skill points on the global/local map. Affected players should redistribute skill points and save the game. Developers commentaries: This rare but annoying bug affected the player when they try saving the game right after learning Azaries new skills and abilities. Due to the peculiarities of how the system calculated the number and types of interactions needed to save the current parameters of the avatar (Azaies), the game engine required some additional actions to be performed before saving the corresponding new variables. Currently, no additional actions are required each time the skill point is spent, game remembers the skills and abilities learnt. (Balance) Now Azaries total and bonus HP is calculated correctly before the golem sub-boss battle, which makes it slightly easier. (Localization(ENG)) Some names of the characters and NPCs have been corrected. (Localization(UA)) Sound/text sync has been improved. (Localization (UA)) Some typos in the dialogs have been fixed.

Heres a list of upcoming HotA balance changes: (Balance) Lvl-up bonus now adds 30 hp to Azaries health bar (35 hp for Azaries-Sarantales) each time Azaries gains new level. (Balance) Reelsa attacks are now more effective against all enemy types; effectiveness against the omveri remains the same. (Balance) Nental: Battle dance skill now works as intended; Sharp claws skill now increases damage of all reelsa attacks; Intimidating Gaze ability has been replaced by Evasion Proficiency (Azaries has 20% chance to evade any enemy attack (including ultimates). Skill can be activated not more than 3 times per battle.); Developers commentaries: despite being an amazing assassin-like class, nental proved to be a little bit tricky to handle due to its increased damage bonus modifier against the omveri and decreased reelsa attacks effectiveness against the other enemy types, as well as reduced hp. Thus, weve tweaked nental-exclusive skills and corrected the lvl-up hp bonus modifier to make Azaries-nental more capable and easy-to-handle for the majority of players.

Heres a list of upcoming HotA balance changes: Balance: Ghersties Blazing wave skill now deals less damage to psio-creatures and the omveri, but it deals more damage to other types of enemies instead. Balance: Ghersties "Wing strike" skill (will be renamed to Cutting wing in further updates) now deals more damage. Balance: Azaries Fiery speech skill (Aegis Scholar exclusive ability) now applies x2 damage bonus modifier instead of x2,5. Balance: Ghersties friendship damage bonus modifier is now less effective. Once Ghersties affection reaches 20+, its effectiveness will reach its previous value. Balance: Narration difficulty attack bonus modifier is now 25% more effective (effect stacks for each Azaries level). Developers commentaries: Aegis Scholar (Aegisologist) class proved to be overpowered due to immense bonus damage modifier applied to Azaries allies in battle. In order to make this class more consistent and balances, we decided to decrease the attack bonus damage provided by Azaries skill Fiery speech. Also, Ghersties friendship damage bonus modifier has been decreased due to it being too effective when stacked with Fiery Speech skill damage bonus modifier (in some cases Gherstie could oneshot certain foes or deal over 400 damage).

Thus, another natural cycle keeps on rolling, so we have to get prepared for more sun and warmth. Cold and dull weather usually makes feel a bit ill, antsy and drained of energy, but the upcoming spring should fix our mood and pace of life. Despite being under the weather, our team has been working hard to bring you the top-notch freshly baked content and long-awaited updated. So, lets cut to the chase!
We keep on working hard every day to make your gaming experience on release as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, the wintertime and some events in Ukraine slowed down our progress, so we decided to postpone the release date of the game in order not to turn a blind eye on potential bugs, glitches, inconsistencies, and presence of certain outdated pieces of content in HotA. But worry not! Were releasing the game this spring! However, the release date itself has been moved to May (wait for the announce). By the way, according to the lore, Azaries adventures actually happened in spring, so lets start this wonderful journey together with our bellowed omverai!
Thus, long ours of hardcore coding, drawing, and translating have resulted into the following list of achievements:
Weve finally completed the revision of the first in-game days, which resulted in reworked animations, improved logic of the cutscenes, implementation of the newly designed animations/reactions of certain characters as well as revamped backgrounds and even more minor cosmetic changes;
Weve revised and updated Ukrainian (VA+text) and English (Text) localizations of the game.
The differences between Azaries classes have been further deepened and substantiated. The new Stats Check System (SCS) opens a wide variety of ways to customize MCs behavior and unlocks multiple choices/branches during the events of main story, as well as adds unique class- and architype-exclusive events/quests/ways to act under certain circumstances;
Ukrainian VO for all characters encountered in High Circles is currently in production (the EA release will feature full VO of Prologue and High Circles (beginning of Chapter One), except for optional dialogs and side stories);
Combat system has been heavily rebalanced. Weve revised and discussed stats of the majority of enemies encountered in order to enhance the combat experience depending on the difficulty level selected;
UI has been improved and updated;
Our plans for March/to do list:
To completely revise few days of Azaries journey in order to implement the same set of improvements/animations/cutscenes to meet our new standards of in-game storytelling logic;
To finish the development of the secondary in-game modules, such as Dictionary, Jukebox crystal andMemories. Each modules will provide the player with certain non-essential in-game mechanics. For example, the Dictionary module will allow to read all the collected info regarding omveri language, terms, definitions and meaning of certain words and even the deciphered fragments of the ancient tongue. Also, System of Azaries flashbacks, which is currently in developments, will unlock and save all viewed memory fragments regardless of the current save state and route chosen. Basically, each player will be able to watch each encountered and viewed/skipped flashback again in main menu or in-game even if they start a new playthrough or delete the save folder. This system proves useful for returning players and those who admire collecting the pieces of lore and story together. However, the memories must be collecting first by progressing the main plot or meeting certain requirements;
To fully revise/finish/polish Ukrainian and English localizations of currently existing content.
To rework/improve/enhance UI/graphics in certain game situations;
More fixes, improvements, and optimizations of all aspects of the game!
Also, a few weeks before the release we will remove the playable demo from Steam due to the urgent need to update it with newly polished content and remove certain inconsistencies. Updated Demo will be available in summer.

There are several festivities in Nanraas that have similar customs and traditions. All of them are celebrated in Naaikos (spring), for its hard to find a more romantic time than the season of the awakening of nature and the first warm rays of Eorin that touch the hearts of every living creature around. The first holiday is called TioRish the great festivity of family and family life. This festival is usually celebrated by those who have already tied the knot and spent at least one chiotai in peace and harmony. Love not only your partner, but your family as a whole thats what wise omveri say about this holiday. Theres no place for selfishness and egoism in this day even the most dedicated workaholics take a brake and spend time with their loved ones, children, and the closest relatives. Moreover, all the enterprises and even government institutions give their employees an official holiday.
Parents take their hatchlings and teenlings to amusement parks, camping sites, flight stations and sandy beaches to have as much fun as they can. Also, some special events such as concerts, fire shows, figure flights are held by local authorities and members of different families-oriented organizations. However, single omveri without families and any intentions to have one in future are allowed to work during TioRish. People call them Solmaverai lonely souls. These individuals idolize their careers and put their jobs above all. Sandy, most of them are destined to spend the rest of their lives alone, without any hope to find a partner and start a family.
The second grand holiday is called TarTarish the festivity of love and friendship. All those who are in love or active seeking a partner prepare small gifts for their loved ones. This holiday is similar to the Saint Valentines Day in many ways and its patron is the Aegis of Love Lankir. Despite not being a part of the Great Triumvirate of the Aegises, Lankir is worshiped by many young omveri as the goddess of love, fertility, and family happiness. TarTarish is the ideal day for a declaration of love, love confession and even marriage proposal. The most appreciated gift in this day is the special kind of candy that is made in the shape of egg and filled with a tasty liquor. But remember: such a candy can be given to person with whom youre good friends or lovers. Otherwise, egg-shaped candy can be considered as mocking, gesture of disrespect and even sign of hostility and bulling. However, the color of such a candy has a very special mean. Thus, white color means friendship, red color is the sign of deep love and appreciation, but black color means that your partner is willing to break up with you.
Will Azaries find her true love during her adventures? Well, its all up to you! Our game features several possible romance options and each of them leads whether to a happy-ever-after ending or a total disaster, depending on Azaries choices, preferences, and participation in special events. Each character Azaries can enter relationship with has a sequence of special events and personal quests. Also, Azaries moral paradigm and attitude towards some particular character impacts her possible romance options. For example, some characters appreciate sentiments and zeal for justice, as well as a number of good deeds done in each city, while the others prefer cold-bloodedness, calculative nature and intentions to gain as much power and wealth as possible. Just remember: pay attention to your party mates and newly encountered characters. They always have something to share with you!
Another amazing feature of our game is the possibility to help some of your party mates to find love and happiness or turn their lives into the disaster. Each character that joins Azaries and her team is a personality with their own stories, desires, intentions and plans for future. From time to time, they will be interacting with each other and Azaries can help them get along well or stimulate the flames of their mutual hatred everything is up to the player! Each decision made and each dialog option selected brings certain advantages and disadvantages and always being a knight in shining armor is not always the best option.

First of all, the early access release of the Heralds of the Avirentes is our top priority. Despite having done a ton of coding, proofreading, testing of the core game mechanics, theres still a lot to be done and polished to make the release as smooth as possible. Were glad to acknowledge that Azaries story has found new fans thanks to the playable demo on Steam and other resources. Everyone is looking for the continuation of the great adventure of our cute MC, thus were doing our best to deliver this amazing experience as soon as possible. The estimated release date of the Heralds of the Avirentes remains the same March 26th, 2024.
Weve revised the game script to add some exciting new features to the existing content, as well as to add the continuation of the Azaries story.
Weve also prepared a surprise for all fans of Nanraas! This side plotline will be announced a bit later, but we can tell you one thing for sure: it will unveil some of the mysteries of the ahnnorai the ancient race known to us as the ahnors!
We keep working on improving the localizations! (English and Ukrainian). After the EA release of the game, you will be able to help us to translate the game into more languages! The best community localizations will be added to the game! However, keep in mind: only quality works will be considered.

Despite the multiple differences, our Christmas and New Year traditions have much in common with the celebration of the Three Aegises Festivity and the Chionova. Adult omveri usually bring a pine tree to their homes and decorate it with colorful glass balls and sweets.
Since new chores and preparations for the festivities consume all the free time of the omveri, most of the enterprises offer their workers a paid vacation called The Three Aegises Fiesta. Culmination of the festival is the grand celebration in the center of every town and city round Nanraas. Every omverai gives the Aegis he/she was born under a small ceremonial pawmade present that varies from a small candy from a hatchling to a gigantic statue of the particular Aegis erected by a rich entrepreneur or politician. All the presents are left at the public shrines or family altars located inside living quarters. As the thanks for the offering, it is believed that each Aegis purifies the hearts of each omveri allowing them to enter the new cycle of Veerima with all the sins atoned and grieves washed away.
Chionova is the festival of the cycle of Veerima change that occurs every year on the 368th day. Unlike The Three Aegises Festivity, Chinova is a holiday with a fixed date. Traditionally, the oriental region of Chyme-Calantre celebrates this festival especially pompously since this is the second night of the year when it is forbidden to sleep, all the omveri try to get charged with the positive energy that is rumored to fill the world. Nevertheless, the rest of the Chionova traditions remain the same: sweets, presents, family reunions.

Some of you may say that VNDB features another release date December 12th, 2023, and you will definitely have the point. However, registering the game without a release date is literary impossible, so we had to figure out a technical RD that was plausible and reflected the true state of development at that timeframe. Weve thoroughly analyzed feedback gathered after the release of playable demo, our own time and effort required to polish the project, as well as the resources needed to implement VA and conduct proper quality check. Thus, the new release date has been decided. We tried to consider all the possible risks, including air raids, missile and drone attacks, blackouts, etc
After hours of brainstorming and discussing the roadmap of the game, weve come up with a conclusion that the post-winter period will be perfect for the early access release. The game is entering Steam Early Access on March 26th, 2024!
We would also like to remind you that HotA can already offer 30 hours of solid involving gameplay that includes main story and some quality side quests. Were currently working on save files compatibility, so you wont have to start the game anew after patches/content updates.
Also, were planning on updating the playable demo to implement the upgraded combat system.

We must admit that Halloween has always been one of our favorite holidays filled with mysteries and absolutely unique atmosphere of scary and yet fantastic atmosphere! You can hear Trick-or-treat! here and there, and the candies, lollipops and chocolates are given to the brave kids in their awesome costumes (and sometimes to adults as well!). At least, thats how the western world celebrates it. In our country were still getting used to including Halloween into the list of our favorite festivities.
Full Veerima festivity in Nanraas is of the same importance as the Day of Holy Aegises. According to the traditions, omveri decorate glowing little crystals with special runes, which can be translated as Harmony, Peace, and Love. Yellow and blue crystals are the most popular during this festival; they are used as decorations all over the habitats, for they embody the great mysteries of life and death as well as the status and hospitality of the omveri who live in every particular cave. Thus, in this day even the citizens of little towns dont want to run away from their small stuffy dwellings due to the magnificence of mysterious light produced by the crystals, which lets them feel the connection with the nature, spirits, and ancient traditions of their kind. Wise omveri say that the brighter and more harmonious the house looks, the greater blessing the Baliarnas the Aegis of Life will spell upon its owners.
Hatchlings and teenlings adore this festivity for endless sweets and gifts they receive from the adults. Oriental omveri believe that the more kentecks you spend on your family and loved ones, the more taimchei energy the energy of happiness and prosperity will fill every corner of the world to make the next year better than the previous one. However, only the presents and sweets that are truly desired by kids and relatives will add more taimchei, not just any random purchased thing, so it is advised to ask them about their wishes beforehand.
From the very morning omveri start cooking delicious treats and making sweet drinks for their families and friends. Its forbidden to fill this sacred day with hard labor, business affairs and noise of daily routine. Also, no one should argue or start quarrels, or theyll call upon themselves the rage of the Amoran the Aegis of Water this magnificent deity is rumored to rest in Full Veerima Day.
The night of the Full Veerima festival is also filled with lights and joy. All the Nanraas keeps celebrating it with their friends and families. The main dish on every table is the pumpkin filled with tasty, delicious mush. Each member of the family must eat at least one portion of the dish, or theyll awaken the black energy of muuaru the energy of misfortune, diseases, and death.
After the family dinner, costumed hatchlings and teenlings usually go Trick-or-treating! asking the omveri in their native villages, towns, and cities for sweet treats instead of pranking them and their families for greed and inhospitality. The brighter and more awkward the costume is, the higher is the chance of getting ultra rare and tasty candies! Funny outfits and makeup make everyone laugh, thus generating more taimchei and expunging the muuaru negative energy. Everyone should go to bed with the first rays of Eorin not to let the dark forces possess their bodies and souls.

Moreover, weve put our heart and soul into this wonderful game. However, the development process is not an easy stuff, especially if youre willing to bring something unique and of a high quality for every gamer to judge. Thus, we decided to start the Exploring Nanraas series of developers diaries to let you get acquainted with this wonderful fictional world, its flora, fauna, and sentient species as well as with its rich history and lore. Also, some local phenomena and gameplay mechanics will be properly introduced and explained.
Introduction of Azaries
Azaries Amnera the main character of the game is the best candidate to get to know better first, dont you think? This charming omverai with elegant gold hair and deep glowing purple eyes will be your avatar in the world of Nanraas. Two major periods of her life are depicted in the game: early childhood and prime of her youth. This isnt a spoiler, because even the game poster depicts both iterations of Azaries.
Azaries is an average female child of the omveri race. She lives in a small provincial town of High Circles. She is pretty educated for her age; however, she doesnt have many friends due to her conservative upbringing and peculiar interests. Instead of hitting the floor at the parties and poisoning her body with gallons of alcohol, Azaries prefers reading ancient long-forgotten books in some cozy hideouts, like the one in the Aquelles forest. Those few friends Azaries has got were carefully chosen and will remain loyal to her no matter what. Moreover, silver omverai appreciates honesty and despises lies. She is known in High Circles as one of the most good-natured and sincerest persons always ready to give a paw to anyone who is in need of her help.
One day Azaries world has been turned upside down and her life has changed forever. She found a strange looking crystal in the forest. Her expertise allowed her to state that it was an ancient artifact created decades ago in the era of Reunification Wars. That epoch of darkness is known for the Great Ruin it had brought to the lands of Nanraas, as well as for the excessive use of countless extremely advanced and dangerous technologies which the race of omveri banned shortly after the truce was established. The majority of the omveri cant active and wield the artifacts of the past, but the crystal has awakened in Azaries paws and unleashed its tremendous power upon her foes. The mysterious person who had been watching our heroin from the shows was pleasantly surprised and planned her next move
Creating Azaries
Believe me or not, but Ive been an average furry artist. I didnt have a clear goal of creating a game or a universe of my own. Thus, Ive just been drawing dragon-like character for my own pleasure. The firs concept of Azaries was created back in 2013. Azaries from 2013 has amost nothing in common with the current cheerful main character of the game except for some basic features, such as the general color scheme, purple eyes, horns and spikes. Year 2016 brought some drastic changes of my drawing style, which impacted the looks of Azaries to the very core. (2). More detailed scales, blond hair, specific form of the scull and horns all these features have changed the very image of this character forever. After graduating from the university, Ive finally worked out the more or less consistent concept of the future game. In 2018, Azaries received the final update of her appearance. (3) Thus, five years of trial-and-error made Azaries a truly unique recognizable character ready to explore the brand-new world of Nanraas! Azaries appearance is indivisible connected with her character traits and the main story of the game. For example, her eyes are of an extremely rare purple color. This color is so rare among the omveri that some even call it The Curse of the Ancients. However, Azaries has never paid attention to this curious fact, until Well, youve got to find it out yourself soon enough! Well only give you a hint: this feature of her looks is not just cool design, but an important element of the lore and game mechanics. Azaries amazing blond hair and determined gaze complete the vivid picture of a true leader. Moreover, omveri with the silver and white scales are believed to contain the great potential deep inside. However, it requires considerable zeal and effort to be unlocked. It's all up to you: you can make Azaries the great hero or the great villain!
In the beginning of her story, Azaries has a certain setup of character traits, which reflects the authors vision of her personality so-called story canon. However, the game features real RPG-elements, which extend beyond the simple leveling-and-upgrading system like in the majority of modern linear games that claim themselves to be called RPGs. The player choses Azaries actions and/or dialog branches in the crucial points of her adventure. Each option can potentially impact her personality, party mates, main story, substories and the world of Nanraas itself. For example, killing your foes and lying to NPCs and allies will enrage some of Azaries companions and certain character causing conflicts, extra battles and even death of some of her companions. Nevertheless, the other characters will definitely like such violence and pure chaos providing Azaries with useful items, combat assistance and even joining her during substories. Each playthrough is unique and filled with exciting discoveries and numerous ways to accomplish your goals. Each decision made will change Azaries karma towards one of the following archetypes: Kindness, Balance, or Aggression. Each of them provides certain bonuses and handicaps. For example, Azaries of a Kind archetype will receive reputation and persuasion bonuses, discounts t shops and access to peaceful ways of solving some conflicts, nonetheless, she wont be able to exploit perks of the Aggressive archetype, such as intimidation, brute force, and sheer violence. Greetings, brave explorers of Nanraas! Not a long time ago the playable demo of our demo was released, but were still receiving valuable feedback and suggestions from our community! Weve been so inspired by your interest in our project and tons of great ideas youve been sharing with us on our discord channel, so were back at improving the demo and some of the best pieces of advice will even make it into the main game! First of all, wed like to thank you for your time and effort your invaluable feedback can hardly be overestimated. Weve already fixed all known bugs and improved the overall quality of the demo. Moreover, some more exciting changes are on their way! This update includes the following changes/fixes/content updates: 1) Ukrainian localization has been updated. All known typos/inconsistencies have been fixed. Also, weve improved the VO sync in some dialogs. 2) Balance improvements. Some players found it confusing that in the description of some attacks/skills certain numbers (example: Attack A does 40 damage) do not match the actual damage dealt to the foes (real damage dealt is 6-7). First of all, these are the base bare values of attacks/skills which are yet to be used by the game in certain formulas with the set of other values (attack types, base attack multiplier, targets defense, def type and so on), thus Azaries wont deal 40 pure damage points to the majority of the enemies. We agree that it may sound confusing, so weve decided to change the basics of displaying the possible damage of offensive and defensive skills and abilities to make it clearer and more evident. At the moment, were discussing the possible variants. In future updates, this issue will be fixed. 3) UI tweaks and small bugs fixes. Once the demo meets our highest standards (it is now, but therere no limits to perfection) well implement the most important changes to the main game and even introduce the new mechanics suggested by our dear players! Due to the nature of some changes implemented into the demo, we kindly ask you to reinstall the game or use the check game files feature in order to manually update the game. Heralds of the Avirentes is a unique visual novel experience, which brings you into the “Crystal punk” fantasy setting, where the world of Nanraas exists in the parallel universe, unseen to mere humans. It is inhabited by the race of sentient dragon-like beings – the om’veri.
