For a game of the scale of Banana Man: The Space Monkeys, there is no strategic advantage in staying on a major platform like Steam or Epic Games. I turned to Steam because a lot of fellow game developers are doing it but I had any idea of the the cumbersome process it was before doing it by myself. My game will never attain the visibility of a large-scale game, and from a technical perspective, I can achieve what I need (a means to communicate with you and provide game updates) by utilizing the features of itch.io + his application and by doing by myself the communication.
On the contrary, Steam has become quite stringent in its content distribution. I encountered issues with the use of Midjourney, for instance, and I was compelled to modify the game's description twice to satisfy Steam's quality criteria. However, I haven't received any tangible benefits in return for these efforts. It's a losing situation for me. Every time I learn about a new technology, I become preoccupied with the possibility that Steam might not approve of it. This situation isn't conducive to my creative freedom. I'm not at liberty to develop as I require.
You can find the game on https://aqueuse.itch.io/banana-man-the-space-monkeys and be aware of any update by using the itchio application or simply by following the game. I will also enhance the start screen of the game to let you know if there is updates available.
Bye bye Steam, hello again Itchio :)

Hello, I would have loved to give you access to the game since 23/06, but unfortunately, I've encountered a series of issues with the game's release on Steam (problems with the use of Midjourney, oversight in early access settings, game description confusion). I am working hard to find solutions and communicate with Steam, and it will eventually be resolved. At least, I hope with all my heart. Until that happens, I will continue to update the demo to reflect the progress of the game. It will be exactly the same as the full game and will remain free. If the issue is not resolved within a month, I will leave Steam and focus my efforts on itch.io and other distribution platforms. I don't want bureaucracy to have repercussions on YOU or me <3

Dear players, Banana Man: The Space Monkeys will soon have its official release on Steam \o/ There may be a few extra days of delay after June 23 for Steam to validate the game, but it will be available shortly regardless :) What will happen next? If you plan to play it, you will be able to download the game, (try to) play it, and give me feedback on Discord (recommended method) or directly on Steam. During the first week after the game's release, I will be on vacation, but I will be reachable at any time on Discord, which I will carefully read between swims After that, the game will enter a maturation phase until mid-August to lead it to Version 1.0

The first version of the game will be released in 20 days, and the construction system comes into play with many improvements and enhancements ahead! The beginning of the game is also evolving, as the banana gun has been destroyed and scattered in one of the micro-gardens of the command room. It will need to be reassembled in order to start. This measure has been taken to protect ourselves from pirates like Miss Chiquita, who have an insatiable appetite for bananas! In the long run, the interface of the banana gun will play a significant role in advancing the game's storyline and guiding us to restore the station and repair our ship. Hello, I have worked on the banana dryer. Unfortunately you will need to wait that your bloody game dev work on the banana canon to start using it. This will be a big adventure and will add a LOT of fun to the game ^^ Additionally, I'm working on a bugfix to prevent banana man to fall though the ground. Please, if you experience it, send a message here : https://discord.gg/Fm3b8NKq (it's the discord of Banana Man ^^ )

- The physics of the game has been totally reworked to make of banana man a TRUE game based on physics
- The building system has been simplified and accelerated to allow for faster iterations in building
- We have removed the build station and the foundry, but don't worry! Two new stations will be introduced soon:
- the Banana Peel Dryer (convert your banana peels into fabric)
- the Blueprint Workshop (create blueprints from custom building elements that you draw).
- The usability of interactive elements has been improved. You can now easily identify interactive elements and show/hide debris, banana trees, and monkeys through the options/accessibility menu.
- The game's physics performance has been boosted

Banana Man: The Space Monkeys is a third person 3D plateformer builder game entirely built around the character of Banana Man, an asset graciously provided by Banana Yellow Games Studio, a video game studio based in Costa Rica and US.
Defend the station against pirates, clean it, rebuild all the facilities and more important, catch bananas and makes the monkeys happy.
As soon as I saw Banana Man, I had an irresistible urge to make a game with him. His charisma and absurdity appeal to me immensely. So, I challenged myself to create a game for/around him. His universe, part science fiction, part jungle, is filled with banana-eating monkeys and robots. The gameplay style is a crash-test and construction game, and the graphical style is very low poly prototype. Everything comes from him!
The game is currently very young (I started its development in mid-August 2022), but I hope you will enjoy the few hours you spend cleaning up the jungle and trying to catch bananas. Over the months, many updates will follow to improve the quality of the game (especially the character's movements), fix bugs, and add content (including many activities in the central area of the game, as well as 7 maps, as many monkeys, ammunition and platforms with various behaviors, many items to craft and place in the world, etc. - see the Ours Agile website).
If you want to join the game's discord to stay informed of progress, meet other players, or discuss the game, don't hesitate. You will find a link to the discord on the Ours Agile website.
Thank you, and thanks to the viewers who come to see the game's development on Twitch and contribute their two cents.
Banana Man salutes you!
