Were starting out strong with an opportunity for you to get involved in deciding on a new key art for our new Steam capsule! The game has evolved quite a bit since the first key art and even though it still slaps, we felt that its time for a breath of fresh air. These are the three sketches our 2D artist Astor has come up with:

The old/current key art shows Slice (on the left) and Zer0 (on the right) who were the first two characters added to the game. Zer0 is the main protagonist in the story behind Resistance 204X.\n\nIn the first sketch we kept close to the story of Resistance 204X and exchanged Slice with Zer0\'s main opponent Sargon7.\n\nThe second and third sketch show all 10 characters that we plan on having in the game, to potentially have the key art be a bit more dynamic and representative of what to expect from the game.

Testing our new rushdown character!
Last week Julio and our intern Finn tested the upcoming fighter Paint in the office. Using only his kicks for attacking, he allows for very fun and fast gameplay, with a focus on mobility and opportunities for long combos. Dont worry, he is gonna get a proper texture soon. \n

or need me to refresh your memory: Resistance 204X is a fast-paced 2D fighting game that takes a twist on the traditional fighting game formula and puts it into a blending machine with Nidhogg and Footsies. 2024 has been an exciting year for Resistance 204X, with both online and offline festival appearances! Heres a recap of our journey so far:
Remote Play Together Fest
In February, we were thrilled to be selected by Steam for their Remote Play Together Fest. During this online festival, we streamed player reactions as they dove into the world of Resistance 204X and had a blast!
GGBavaria
Also in February, we were honored to be featured at GGBavaria Fest 2024 in Munich, a hub for gaming enthusiasts, e-sports fans, indie game lovers, anime aficionados, and nerd culture in general. The energy was incredible, with cosplayers and attendees glued to our game. The feedback was so valuable that we immediately started making enhancements for our next showcase.
CAGGTUS Indie Showcase
In April, Resistance 204X was selected by FusionPlay for the CAGGTUS Indie Showcase in Leipzig, Germany. This was our opportunity to test the new enhancements we had been working on after GGBavaria, and it paid off! The response was fantastic, leading to our nomination for the Find Your Next Game Indie Award .
We also pitched the game to a panel of experts and received incredible feedback, further refining our vision.
Guadalindie Festival
In May, we took Resistance 204X to the Guadalindie Festival in Mlaga, Spain. It was an unforgettable experience where we pitched the game to publishers and showcased it to a highly enthusiastic audience.Our game was also featured on the Best Indie Games at Guadalindie 2024 list and mentioned in the Indie Bandits Podcast .
Beat Em Hub Indie Special
Later in May, we were selected to host a live tournament at Beat Em Hubs Indie Special in Berlin, Germany. The Resistance 204X exclusive tournament was a highlight of the event, filled with intense, exciting matches that left participants and spectators alike buzzing with excitement.
Games Baked In Germany Steam Fest
In June, Resistance 204X was selected by the Verband der deutschen Games-Branche for the Games Baked In Germany Steam Fest, showcasing the best of German game development.
Steams Fighting Games Fest
And in July, we were once again featured by Steam, this time in their Fighting Games Fest, bringing even more players into the Resistance 204X community.
