Hello, Cubes pieces! And here we go for version 0.9.7, with a batch of new features, improvements, and bug fixes! The list of changes is long, very long, but that's what it takes to approach version 1.0 Faster than ever! Many optimizations have been made, whether it's on graphics effects, sound, physical effects or AIs, without degrading the final rendering (PS: It's even globally improved AND with bugs fixed!). Expect an average performance gain of at least 15 to 20% (just like that!) and between 30 and 40% improvement on the lowest 1% and 0.1% compared to the last version of the game. New map! A new map has been added, it's an island with an active volcano (guess which one?!). This new map is filled with points of interest: A lighthouse where you can camp, ancient mystical ruins, or even... a radioactive dump. I hope you will like this brand new environment, completely different from the other maps currently present! Better physics: The physics of player movement has been reworked; it will now be more logical depending on the speed bonuses or penalties according to the classes, but also depending on the boosts used. For example, from now on, inertia will be preserved during a jump, which was not the case before. At the same time, the Doppler effect will now be correctly affected according to the respective speed of each player! And, to improve immersion and the gameplay of weapons, various animations have been implemented for the camera (during movement, jumps or landings, etc...), as well as a vertical recoil effect for weapons. Expect a game with significantly more pep! Finally, the rendering of bullet impacts and shots has been improved, with enhanced physics of smoke or spark effects that will be projected more realistically. Save system improvement: The save system has been completely reworked to be more flexible and will allow adding new content (like capes, graves, emoticons, and much more) in the future! Your old save will be automatically converted while playing the game. Be careful: The conversion system will be removed in version 1.0, so think about launching the game at least once by then to keep your stats and customizations! AIs will be able to aim or not! Blind firing and aiming have been added for AIs! Previously, they continuously aimed, which gave them too significant an advantage with very (too) high shooting accuracy, especially in close combat. AIs will now have a more natural aiming behavior. I think that's quite something for this 0.9.7, which looks great and beats all the old versions hands down, so happy gaming everyone!

Linux Support: Great news for the Linux community the game is now fully accessible! Although compatibility has always been present, we're taking a major step by offering full support and making executable files easily accessible. Make sure you have these dynamic libraries up to date: libGL, SDL2 (>= 2.0.0), SDL2_image, libopenal, libsndfile, libpng, libjpeg, zlib. For purists, you can compile the game yourself with the command "make -C src install" in the game's installation directory. Improved translation system: Ive completely redesigned the translation system for more efficient and intuitive language management. Now, adding a new language is a breeze thanks to configurable files that can be edited with any text editor. These files gather all the game's texts, greatly simplifying their translation. Hello Russia! The first beneficiary of this new system: Russians! The game is now fully translated into Russian. To our friends, we say: ! Continuous linguistic additions: From now on, expect to see at least one new language added with each update. Improved map editor: The map editor has been revamped! Now accessible directly from the main menu, it allows you to load and create maps in "edit" mode more easily than ever! Once inside, more intuitive graphical interfaces replace the old system of commands and keyboard shortcuts: editing is now child's play! I plan to add more interfaces for other features in the next update for an even smoother experience. Configuration reset:Given the major changes made, your game's configuration will be reset to default on the first start-up. It's better than having 1,000 dubious bugs due to the old configuration. Broken 3D models: Some might be modified with this update if you were working on a custom map with 3D model assets. Make a backup of your map and use the commands /mmswap 47 75 and then /mmpush 47 5 in edit mode to fix that.
Hello, Cube chunks! Today I am bringing you the most significant game update since the pre-release! Also, thank you for being more and more numerous to play steamthumbsup Keep sharing the game with your friends; the servers are here to heat up! The biggest change in this version is the implementation of OpenAL Soft to manage the game's audio part, which allows adding lots of cool effects like reverb, sound occlusion, Doppler, and many others steamthumbsup [previewyoutube=_qGIWtVf2xs;full][/previewyoutube] The list of fixed bugs is getting longer, and some quite annoying bugs have been fixed, such as the inability to jump out of the water, or the (rare) possibility of not being able to pick up an item on the ground. Some graphic improvements have also been made, like enhancing the rendering of clouds, fog, grenades about to explode, and of course, the nuclear explosion. On a low-end PC, you will also notice a performance improvement with a reduction in loading times and CPU usage during the most intense games, thanks to quite a few optimizations, whether it's on the audio or physics side. This update focuses on bug fixes, better accessibility, gameplay balancing, and enhanced graphical effects! The game is now more accessible with a responsive HUD and a setting to adjust the HUD scale, compensation filters for color blindnesses, and improved color contrast for identifying allies and enemies. In terms of game balance, the explosive belt of the kamikaze and the saber of the ninja has been nerfed, as they were a bit too powerful. Here are some fixes for the game. I recommend doing the update so you can avoid problems when playing in multiplayer! I'm also investigating a (rare) server crash since version 0.9.3. Maybe it's fixed now, or maybe not!
Hello, pieces of cubes! Today is a great day because we've made a big step in the development of the game. Now, the most annoying bugs have been fixed, so it's time to add more content and make QoL updates (which will provide new bugs) until the first stable release of the game. I was very concerned about the immortal (but not able to deal damage) bots in multiplayer. This bug affected even real players. But now it's gone. So, for this 0.9.3, no new content at all but: the most annoying bugs are fixed, the game will now load faster and with a more comprehensive loading screen and I managed to reduce the used internet bandwidth by about 1/3. Developing games is not my main job, and in the coming weeks, I will have less time to do big updates, but reported bugs will still be patched regularly.
