Another week, and another rough edge to round off!
Hot on the tail of last week's patch, 1.16.2 aims to buff up and sparkle the current release of Super Video Golf!
No crash fixes this time (there weren't any crashes ) just usability improvements. Most notably player merf has been offering valuable feedback on the league tables which accompany the new career mode, so I've been hard at work making them more meaningful at the end of a round. Foremost the mostly irrelevant gold and silver shield icons are gone, replaced now with a new series of icons which show you who moved in the league, and in which direction.
It has also been pointed out that the end of round trophy on the scoreboard was somewhat superfluous in Career games, as you as the player weren't competing directly with another player on the green. This, then, has been replaced with a more useful message stating how well you played that round, and any effect which it had on the current league. It also adds more fireworks
A few other players have also pointed out a couple of faux pas on my behalf - I accidentally disabled mouse input with the new Swingput system introduced in the last patch, and CPU players just couldn't cope with the Press & Hold power input mechanic when it was active. Both of these issues have now been addressed!
Here's the full change list:
- Restored mouse input when Swingput is active
- Fixed CPU players getting confused when input mode is set to Press & Hold
- Added minimap zoom with L3/F6 on Driving Range
- Added scrolling mouse wheel now pages through ball/hair selection in profile editor
- Added scrolling mouse wheel now scrolls through league browser pages
- Added league browser now indicates any change in player position
- Added Career rounds now summarise the active league instead of displaying a trophy (thanks to merf for all the feedback)

Super Video Golf can be played either as couch co-op with up to 8 players using 1-4 compatible controllers or the PC keyboard, or online with up to 8 computers connecting to a single game. Super Video Golf can also be played as a combination of both allowing up to 16 players in a single round!
Players can customise their characters with a range of designs, hair styles and balls to choose from, with more available in the Steam Workshop. Computer controlled players can be added to a game either to fill out a team roster, to practice against - or simply to pit against other CPU players while you watch and relax. CPU players feature adaptive skill, so as the player's level increases, so does the challenge!
Solo features of Super Video Golf include Monthly Challenges which start at the beginning of each month, as well as a club league where personal progress is pitted against CPU players. The league consists of 24 round seasons, with awards given for top 3 placement and CPU players whose difficulty increases to match the player, season by season.
The clubhouse also hosts all the player's personal stats, such as time spent on each course, the player's score history and any awards received from completing monthly challenges and winning the league.
Every month a new set of leaderboards are created so players can compete around the world to win trophies for placing anywhere in the top 3. Player stats are tracked and broken down by year, month or week and can be viewed from within the clubhouse.
Steam Workshop support means that it is easy to find new customisation options such as new balls or head wear, and even upload your own creations to share.
Super Video Golf supports a wide array of resolutions, from as low as 640 x 480, all the way up to the latest UHD ultra wide displays. Full controller support means that big picture mode is fully supported, ideal for couch co-op play.
