Dearest mortals,
We just got back from our trip to the BAFTAs last week, which was quite a surprise for a small game like ours! Seeing our little Vampire Therapist up there with excellent titles like Tales of Kenzera: Zau, Kind Words 2, Senua's Saga 2, Botany Manor, and Tetris Forever will stick with us for a while, and we met some incredible people. Our art director even got to take a picture with Astarion, but she's German so we won't share her pics here.
Although we didn't bring home the award, we brought something to share with you all!
Greetings, our dear mortals!
We had to share some exciting news with you: Vampire Therapist is officially nominated for a 2025 BAFTA in the Game Beyond Entertainment category!
This is a tremendous honor for our tiny team (one developer and three artists), but we put a ton of research, love, and sexy jokes into our game, and it's extremely gratifying to have that love returned.
This is some wind in our sails as we get into production on our second game, which we're excited to share more about soon.
Thank you for all your support in helping us get here!
Rest in peace,
The Little Bat Games Team
Fixes many text and audio bugs in the DLC. Happy therapizing, dear mortals!
Howdy, cowpokes! We've got a juicy update for you today.
Fixed a Unity bug for Mac that softlocked Drayne's 3rd session on distortion picking. All good now, enjoy!
Howdy pardners! We've got some fun stuff for ya this month.
Hey undead cowpokes! Vampire Therapist is live in the Steam Autumn Sale, so grab a copy for that friend who could use a cowboy vampire therapist's kind ear!
We're also throwin' our cowboy hats in the ring for the Steam Awards in the Outstanding Story-Rich Game category! If our story meant somethin' to you, consider voting for Vampire Therapist. It'll count more than if you vote for that big blockbuster!
See you on the Internet, little dogies!
Greetings, dear immortals! We're going on a much-needed vacation, but we've got a patch for you before we get our not-so-eternal rest.
There was an error where minigames would not load. It's fixed now, my sincere apologies! -Cyrus
Greetings, children of the night! We've got a special new patch you all today. You know how Vampire Therapist has a reputation as "that really cool and funny game with the wonky curtains?" Well, now the curtains are fixed! Why did it take this long? Well, Vampire Therapist is largely a solo project and I'm not an experienced programmer. Apparently embedding video with transparency will make most computers melt. So now we use a green screen effect to render the curtains opening and closing instead. Neat! Further patch notes:
Greetings, immortal therapists! Today, we launch the first in a series of free content updates that will give you the chance to ease the mental burdens of Andromachos, our 3000-year-old vampire. These short sessions (30-60 minutes each) are our thank you to players who have purchased and completed Vampire Therapist. We think you're awesome and want to give you something good! The first session releasing today, "The Blood of Troy," will let you explore how Andromachos became a vampire. It involves a gigantic horse. Stay tuned for more soon! Rest in peace, Little Bat Games
Hey everyone! I've had a lot of interest in the Vampire Therapist soundtrack, so I talked to the licensors and got permission to make a playlist on Spotify! You can check it out now and take the sounds of Immernacht home. Enjoy! Link to Spotify
Hey cowpokes! I'm back from Gamescom and back to work on Vampire Therapist. I'll have some exciting announcements in the next few weeks, but for now, a few bugfixes:
It's Sunday night hotfix time for Vampire Therapist! Just a minor one today as I head to Leipzig for some reference gathering for an upcoming content update. Here are the changes:
Howdy, healers of the unholy! We've got a big set of fixes for you today, so we'll call it a full on patch. Here are the changes:
Apologies everyone, but unforeseen issues occurred with Mac and Linux builds, as well as savegames. I will need to spend more time on the curtain update to get it working properly.
Uh. Hi. Me again. My new curtain implementation accidentally closed on Isabella in her second session, so I had to fix that. While I was at it, I fixed the bug where the buttons were too loud in the distortion picker. They are now properly attuned to the settings menu. Yay! Enjoy Vampire Therapist. :)
It's been a week since Vampire Therapist was launched, so what better time for a hotfix? Here are the changes for today: Re-engineers the curtain completely. It should be running much more smoothly without dropped frames. Updates the content warning to be more comprehensive and match the one on the store pages Makes save game screen look a little cleaner. Removes unneeded buttons in settings. Fixes a mismatched line in Meddy's first session. Fixes typo in Isabella's second session. Addresses historical anachronism in Meddy's file. Fixes Meddy and Sam's accidental ventriloquism act in her fourth session. Slight intro retiming. Fixes
Panoptibella's
neck in a later encounter. Makes Sam less distortion sensitive in Drayne's final session. Fixes credits typo. Fixes a sound file in Drayne's fourth session. Fixes a sound file in Isabella's third session. Thank you for your patience and help in reporting these issues!
Hotfix #2 is now live for Vampire Therapist on all platforms and stores! Thank you for your bug reports and patience. I do want you to have the best therapy experience possible. Here are the fixes today: Fixes
Lord Luridus
covering up Andy. Fixes voice boo-boo in Edmund's second session. Fixes incorrect answer in Edmund's fourth session. Fixes incorrect answer in Edmund's fifth session. Fixes "Bloodsuckin' Buckaroo" achievement. Fixes stuck curtain after Sam's fifth session. Fixes typo in Meddy's first session. Curtain performance should be much improved. That's it for this time! More technical improvements will be coming in the next few weeks before I get started on the next steps for Vampire Therapist. Happy necking, Cyrus
Hotfix #1 has just been set live! Here are the fixes: * Missing voice lines re-added during Maxi and Reinhard
neck sessions
. * Fixes scene restart during Drayne's second session (new voiceover!). * Fixes scene restart during Edmund's second session. * Fixed Crimson line after Drayne's third session. * Fixed Isabella line in Isabella's third session. * Fixes Meddy line during Meddy's third session. * Fixes Sam line in Sam's fourth session. * Fixes scene restart during Edmund's fourth session. * Fixes text error during Sam's
poetry reading
. * Fixes
Ciaran's
veins and arteries. * Tweaks Neckbiter game to ensure proper restarts. Huge thanks to all of you for catching and reporting these so thoroughly! Some of the more technical adjustments will happen next week. I'm a solo dev so it'll just take some time, but thank you for your continued patience.

We're hard at work polishing up the demo of Vampire Therapist to premiere at Steam NextFest, but in the meantime, we've arranged something very special. Andromachos is our 3000-year-old vampire therapist in residence, and he's taking questions from mortals on, well, anything. Andromachos is older than many deities, so he's seen the world change a lot in his time. With Dracula Day coming up, we got him to emerge from his coffin to answer questions from mortals about history, the challenges of being undead, and even vampire therapy.* Ask questions on X/Twitter by Tuesday, May 28, and Andromachos will respond in video format. *Vampire therapy is not the same as mortal therapy, and Andromachos is not a licensed mortal therapist. Answers are not considered professional advice.
