Slot Machines
Slot machines don't have set probabilities for specific patterns, but rather, each line of the slot machine spins a random number of times, meaning that the symbols on each line all have the same probability. Here's how we calculated and organized the probabilities (there may be mistakes in the calculations)

- Three identical glyphs (2.04%)
- 0.29% for each of the 7 different symbols
- That means the jackpot chance is 0.29
- Two identical symbols (36.73%)
- 5.24% for each of the seven symbols
- No duplicates (61.22%)
- 26.23% chance of containing a single 7
- 13.13% chance of not containing both a 7 and a Bar (explosion)

V2.0 - Construction is over and Version 2.0 is out!

9 Waves 2.0 is here!

A week ago, our game was far from perfect, and now, after a week of major surgery, we're proud to present 99 Waves 2.0!

Your support and interest has made us work really hard, and we're so grateful for all of you - for the kind words, for the detailed analysis, and for the sharp criticism.

We're going to be taking a little break from now on. There won't be any updates for a while, except for fatal error fixes and such.

The two of us have a lot of fun stuff planned and we promise you'll be back for more. And thanks to you guys, we've got the momentum to get it started.

The Cosnow Company is just getting started, and please stay tuned!

Below are the changes since version 1.8.

Platforms now have a chance to spawn "Healing Field" when they spawn! Stepping on them restores health, which is equal to a small healing field.

Added "Summon Airship" to the boss cyborg's attack pattern.

Some music has been replaced with music that will never be claimed by YouTube. Some of the previous music had a chance of being claimed when uploaded to YouTube. (If you uploaded the previous version and it was claimed, please refer to inaudio.org and include the music's information in your video description).

Fixed an issue where food dropped by enemies when they die would leave the map and be inaccessible to players.

Reduced the drop rate of food dropped by enemies.

Added dialog from the village woman.

Rewards for clearing waves 50 and 100 can now be claimed in town instead of immediately.

Reduced the amount of energy added to the legendary weapon "Divine Illumination" when leveling up.

"Mad Robot's Surgery" will no longer appear in-game while "Divine Illumination" is equipped.

If you want a fresh 2.0 start, we recommend resetting the game in Settings.

V1.8 - Green-bordered enemy

Fixed an issue where some waves would sometimes not clear even though all enemies were killed.

Added green-bordered enemies. They will appear once per wave and drop a heal pack on kill.

Shadow alter ego damage nerfed.

Bosses' HP has been increased (not applied in last patch)

Enemies' HP and damage slightly increased.

The cost of weapon upgrade has been "significantly" increased.

When using healing field, HP is now restored when jumping.

Fixed an issue with damage display that caused large damage to be displayed in exponential notation (E+).

Significantly nerfed the additional gold of two weapons that give extra money.

If you fail a challenge, you can no longer take the gold you earned from the challenge back to town.

Patch 2.0 will be uploaded today.

V1.7 - Controller patches and more

Now you can play games more comfortably with your Xbox gamepad!
Gamepad input is available in all parts of the game except the Settings window.
Now when you connect a gamepad, you will see pad buttons instead of keyboard keys in all UI displays.
* Gamepad key mappings (bindings) have not been added due to my lack of development skills.
* If you're using a controller other than an Xbox pad, such as a dualshock, you'll need to set it up in Steam - Settings - Controllers - General Controller Configuration.

Character "GobGob" readjustment:
Added a passive icon for GobGob.
Increased the energy cost of GobGob's dagger throw.
GobGob now throws a dagger when using Chain Strike or Final Strike (the same dagger that goes out with his normal attack)
Dagger duration and dagger speed increase in proportion to GobGob's level has been reduced.

You can now check each character's passive when selecting a character in Town.

The following changes have been made to slot machines in the Store Tent.
The cost of slot machine in the Store Tent has been increased.
Reduced the rewards for slot machine in the Store Tent.
Slot machine in the Store Tent deals more damage when they explode.
The cost increase of slot machine in a Store Tent is no more capped at 5x.

This stingy merchant's patch is not because we don't want players to make a lot of money, but because the behavior of tediously spinning slot machine wave after wave was enforced gameplay, which is not our intention.

Increased unique ability damage for god(playable) character.

Minor changes to enemy health and attack values that increase per wave.

The passive that increases health when standing still now increases in % of max health, making it more effective.

Enemy drop gold has been slightly lowered.

Reduced the maximum skill damage bonus from the Epic passive "Money Power" from 100% to 50%.
(Note that most passives are stackable; other passives, such as explosive platform, also increase damage when multiple ones are obtained).

Increased the health of some bosses.

Fixed an issue that caused hidden text to appear in ending under the wrong conditions.

There is currently a bug in some waves that sometimes prevents the wave from being cleared even if all enemies are killed. We've been aware of this for a while, but we're still working to find the cause. We'll try to get it fixed in 2.0 tomorrow.

V1.5 - Challenges, and new weapons

We're skipping version 1.4 because there are many changes.

We said we would only make in-game announcements until the 2.0 patch on the 19th, but there are so lots of changes that we need to document them. Sorry for that.

We've added 10 new "Challenges" of the pot lady. Complete the challenges(they are difficult) and get new weapons :)
Caution: Challenges' difficulty is being tested now. The difficulty of the challenges may be adjusted in the future.

You can now see item and skill descriptions in "Key Arrange." (no longer need to use the mouse to see the description when playing with a gamepad).

8 weapons have been removed. Owners of these weapons will receive 30,000 gold.
The following weapons have been removed
(Common) Tuning Fork of Hex
(Common) Old Wooden Wand
(Common) Jeweled Rapier
(Common) Sage's Staff
(Rare) Tranquility of Winter
(Rare) Terror's Tooth
(Rare) Electro-Master's Galvanic Sword
(Epic) Doomknight's Demonic Blade

Some weapons have been changed or nerfed.

8 new "Preset Weapons" have been added.

Preset weapons can be obtained from Challenge rewards, from clearing 50 or 100 waves, or from hidden chest. Preset weapons are not stat-boosting weapons like regular weapons, and cannot be sold or upgraded. They allow you to play the game with a set set of stats when you start both "from scratch" and "from wave 6 onwards". Recommended for those who want more variety in their gameplay!

Fixed loud sound on mass weapon gacha 50 and 100.

Passives for max stats will no longer appear in reward chests and store.

Weapon upgrades count now appear together in the in-game weapon icon.

Chain Slash can now be flipped while casting.

Final Attack buff:
Added a red effect.
Added penetration +1.
Now heals for 10% of damage dealt starting at level 5.
At level 20, you can now change direction mid-strike.

Armory now also shows the number of weapons you have.

Money and items now last longer, and the blinking time has been increased.

Fixed an issue that sometimes left ice or fire effects on the map.

Fixed some issues with saves.

Fixed the Revenant King's moonwalk and reduced his speed by 12% while levitating.

Fixed the issue that the alter ego chases enemies in the air but can't attack.

Passives that restore HP per hit now restore HP proportional to your damage. Crave more blood!

Slightly increased the amount of gold dropped by enemies.

Shadow Ninja will now briefly become invincible after using his unique ability Roll.

Reduced the delay between summoning and firing the Thousand Blades Portal.

Reduced the item's continuous use time limit from 0.5 seconds to 0.1 seconds.

Those who successfully open a hidden chest will also have a re-locked chest to unlock the new weapon.

There are many other minor changes that we didn't get to write down.

Please reconsider purchasing this game now.

This game is not a game right now, I released it without serious consideration, and there are a lot of bugs, balance issues, etc. We have one week, until February 19, to fix these issues and make significant improvements to the game. We've gotten an unexpected amount of attention, but the game is not a game. I'm not going to run away from that attention, but just know that for that one week, it may not be what you expect.

If you've already purchased the game, get a refund, and if you're already past the refund period, consider holding off on playing it until February 19th. If you can't get a refund and you don't like the game and feel cheated, please contact me (Cosnow) on Discord on the Steam page.

For those of you who have already told us that you enjoy the game and are having fun with it, we really appreciate it. But as a game that we're selling for money, we think there's still a lot we can do to improve it, and we're going to work hard on that.

In a week, on February 19th, the game will be reborn as something we can be proud of. We'll announce any patches or adjustments in an in-game announcement till the 19th so that this announcement stays at the top of the list. We're going to throw everything we've got at this undeserved attention. Here's the roadmap.

2/12 - Fix save/load issues, bug fixes
2/13 - Variable enemy health/attack power system - if player max health is low, enemy attack power goes down, if player max health is high, enemy health goes up (difficulty itself remains the same)
2/14 - New border enemies added, scaffolding updated
2/15 - Full Xbox pad support, DualShock support (unconfirmed)
2/16 - Added challenges, big change of weapon system
2/17 - Slot machine adjustment (we want to make gacha fun, but we'll improve the tedious wait at the gacha)
2/18 - Boss fights more intense. Added a new form for the cyborg boss (This was originally envisioned before release, but we released without it, sorry).
2/19 - Version 2.0 uploaded

The order of update content may be interchanged.

Added a skill cast animation to the character "GobGob" so he can now cast all skills (previously 4)!

Also made GobGob's frustrating normal attack faster.

Controller controls have been improved - skills and items no longer use at the same time, and we're working on issues with keyboard button UI in the smithy and others when connected to controller.

This is a 3-day plan.

24. 2. 11 - Fix controller responsiveness, change character "GobGob" to use all skills instead of only 4 currently. Balance adjustments. Treasure chest opens faster.

24. 2. 12 - Add a system where if you clear 50, you can always continue from 51, even if you turn off the game. Add 50, 100 continuous Gacha.

24. 2. 13 - Fix various unfriendly UI issues and add achievements.

After that - new skills, weapons, etc.

About full controller support

We apologize for the delay in full controller support. Although 99 Waves is playable with Xbox controller, we recognize that key mapping is not possible and controls are inconvenient in many ways. We were hoping to complete full controller support by today, but it looks like we'll need a little more time. We are sorry for that, as we know many people are waiting it. If you want to equip multiple weapons, you'll now need to purchase weapon slots at the smithy.

We made this decision not because we're stingy with gold (we're not), but because we felt that having five weapons at the start of the game would take away from the fun.

Hello! 0.9.8 Update is here!

Fixed some minor bugs.

Now you can recover hp/energy when you gain max hp/energy, in proportion to cur / max ratio!

Now "Glided Longsword" gives you Skill Up! So if you want to play in the middle wave and also want some skills, get that weapon in tavern right now, and upgrade more at smithy!
