Update 11: New Character Creator


Dear tinkerers,


we have a BIG ONE for you this time. In our 11th Early Access content update, we're finally bringing the Character Creator aka Mech Hangar to you, as well as another major character rework. Rogue Voltage is 20% off for IndieArk's Publisher Sale and IndieX games festival. This is the lowest discount all year so tell all your nerdy friends!

THE MECH HANGAR:


The Mech Hangar is now available in camp, and we're sure you're going to have a lot of fun with it. It becomes available for downpayment once you beat the game and have all the camp structures unlocked.
Inside you have a blaster and 4 empty module sockets to build the mech's starting layout. But beware: Once placed, modules can't be taken away again, only destroyed.
Start a run with the Time Travel Mech character and they will come with the rack loadout you designed.
Go build a crazy combo. You're very much invited to share your creations in the Discord-Community! I'm looking forward what broken stuff you come up with.

CHARACTER REWORKS:


The Nomad and Sol got fused into one character. They used to work amazing together, but weren't too flexible individually.

The Nomad


The Nomad now has the lightning weapon that Sol used to have (with a snazzy new look). Now you have to construct lightning rods to protect yourself from ... yourself.

Sol


Sol has an ALL NEW rack! She now fights by constructing Auto-Turrets that deal 1 damage per turn. Create as many turrets as you can in order to stack up on damage, but remember to keep them charged or they will implode! (Strong combo: Using them as a target for the Crust Generator before they go anyway)

Plasma Bot


I didn't like two mechas in the game, so the former Plasma Mech was changed to be a cute little Plasma Bot now. Nothing changed on the rack, still a very powerful char and fan-favorite.

UI/UX


  • The mouse cursor now changes when dragging modules and wiring. I think this adds a lot.
  • New badges on the character selection screen reward you for having runs won on different difficulties.
  • I added some missing character animation frames

WHAT ELSE:


  • Defusing the time bomb now triggers the accumulation sensor
  • There is a "Storage Charger" module available in the vending machine in camp
  • "Storm Cells" are now regular drops in the uncommon slot
  • Fixed a bug while combusting plasma when having 0 or negative plasma.

UPCOMING FEATURES:


  • New modules and drop-table reworks
  • Run-modifying passive modules and curses for the daily runs
  • In the near future: A new ice biome

  • Construct your abilities from specialized modules. Some generate energy, some modify or store it and others turn it into effects. Build powerful structures to zap your enemies or conserve charge in batteries for moments of need.




    Every combat turn poses tactical challenges where to direct your energy: Into your blaster module to harm the monsters? Into a decelerator to control the timeline? Should you crack a healing potion? Or do you store it in a battery and prepare an even more ambitious move next turn?





    In this shattered world, cause and effect are out of joint. Master the art of Gravitonics to move turns forward or backward in time: Dodge volcano eruptions and lightning strikes, slip before your enemies or throw them into a devastating Grav-Spike.




    Your adventure leads you through a variety of biomes where tricky groups of enemies try to ruin your day. Compose and patch up your racks wisely to deal with procedurally generated and progressively dangerous threats.
