Major Changes Coming to Fortune Avenue
Until now, it wasn't always clear what was happening in the game. While you could see all player actions, crucial information was missing. When a player completes a lap around the board, we know they earn $50,000, but when they pay taxes, we don't know how much they pay. This was a major issue. I've fixed this by adding two important pieces of information to Fortune Avenue's interface: money spent and money earned are now displayed directly in the game. It's synchronized with the animations, making it even cooler!
I've also worked on the in-game text, making it clearer and larger. Everything now displays properly, even on Steam Deck. Speaking of which, Fortune Avenue now fully supports controllers, so grab your Steam Deck and try out this little gem!
Reading through your feedback, I noticed a common comment about the game's pace. The animations were too slow and significantly slowed down gameplay. I heard you and worked hard to address this need. Fortune Avenue now offers 3 game speeds: normal, which many of you found too slow; fast, which is 1.5x faster; and very fast, which is literally 2x faster. Be careful though - at 2x speed, it really moves! I've tested it, and it works well. There were some synchronization issues to solve, but once those were fixed, the game plays very smoothly. Even the longest games now last maximum 30 minutes at 2x speed.
Easter is coming up, so to celebrate, I've added a new game board. You'll find Easter eggs, baskets, and a lush green meadow. It's a nice change from the existing scenery.
You've probably noticed other changes too. First, Fortune Avenue's main screen now has 2 buttons: one for offline play and one for online play. In the demo, you can only play online. But from April 7, 2025, the game can be played offline in solo mode. I hope you're excited about this! Another change concerns the game's price. As promised, the game will be $2.99 at launch. And it will be - I've made sure of it. But this will be for a limited time. For 14 days, the game will be 40% off, after which it will return to its original price of $4.99. If you're unsure about getting the game, you can try it now and make up your mind. Don't forget to wishlist Fortune Avenue so you don't miss the 40% launch discount! I still have plenty of work to do and features to add before the official release on April 7, 2025. So I'll get back to work. Take care, Xavier aka Binogure
