Launching with the release of Patch 1.3 is a big change for those who want to play with friends who dont yet own their own copy of the game Guest Player Slots! When creating new lobbies, players may also share the lobby code with up to three guest players. Guest players who do not own their own copy of DEAD MANS HAND: Card Roulette Action can launch the demo on Steam or visit the games itch.io page and join in via web browser by using the lobby code. Please be advised that unless a player who owns a copy of the game hosts a lobby and shares the lobby code, only practice mode will be available to guest users. There was some confusion as to how the "Quickplay" option used to work. Previously, if there were no other players available the matchmaker would give you bots to play with. This has been split into two options in the main menu. For matchmaking against other players select the "Quickplay" option. This will search for 3 other players to play the game with using the default ruleset. The "Practice" option will immediately start a match against 3 other bots using the default ruleset. You will still receive full rewards in "Practice" mode. Patch Notes:
- Quickplay split into "Practice" and "Quickplay".
- Added missing credits for the tricks & treats event music.
- Fixed a few discolored pixels in the Lawman sprite's eyes.

Paying the Tab Patch 1.2.0 is Live!
The latest patch for DEAD MANS HAND: Card Roulette Action is rolling into town. Weve got a long list of exciting new changes to introduce, so pull up a seat and have a look-see.
New Animations & UI / UX Improvements
The biggest change coming in Patch 1.2 is an overhaul to the games presentation and interface. To help speed up the flow of gameplay, a players splash screen will now only play once per turn. We have also made significant changes to the gameplay screen, as shown below.
The goal with these changes is to make the gameplay elements easier to understand, as well as more visually pleasing to look at. Previously, players would cycle through the list of opponents when selecting their TARGET. Now, a new AIM button will bring down a lineup of the players in a new selection window. The players custom TRIGGER flair will also appear in these sequences if they have an Active card in the slot.
Additionally, players will notice new animations have been added for the SPIN and RELOAD cards. These will play as the cards are used. Finally, when aiming at their own character, new animations for the trigger pull sequence will play. Changes have also been made to the visual elements behind the characters during these scenes. We hope you will enjoy them.
Custom Cursor & Controller Support
The title now features a custom cursor shaped like the hands of the Frontier Units. This cursors appearance will reflect the color changes made to the units in the customization window. Additionally, the title now also features gamepad support with a simulated cursor controlled with user input.
Bounty Window Updates
As part of the updates to the user experience, a bounty window will now appear after a player is eliminated, asking if they would like to place a bounty on the player who eliminated them. The bounty window will also now remain active even during cutscenes, allowing players to continue interaction until their bounty is placed. As part of the 1.2 UI overhaul, the bounty board has been repositioned in the new game UI layout and will now properly remove bounties that have been claimed.
Chat & Options Window Updates
As of Patch 1.2, the in-game chat and options windows will remain interactive above cutscenes. Players may still cycle between chat messages and system messages.
FC Tabs & Increased Payouts
One of the big changes coming to the game is increased payouts for players coming out of each match. In the original release of DEAD MANS HAND, winners of a game would receive 5 FC per total player in the game, and every player received 1 FC per turn survived.
In Patch 1.2, players will now receive FC for a myriad of reasons, with the total payout tabulated at the end of the game or when they are eliminated. Some of the new ways to earn FC include:
- Choosing yourself as the TARGET
- Eliminating other players
New Cards Added
Two additional cards have been added to the game. They will appear in standard play as of Patch 1.2. LAWSUIT - TRIGGER - Receive HOLDERs hand when you are chosen as their TARGET. INHERIT - TRIGGER - Receive TARGETs hand when they are eliminated by your bullet.
New Color Palettes Added
Additional color options have been added to the customization screen.
Code Redemption Added
A new window for Code Redemption has been added to the main menu. Patrons may now enter a code in this window to receive special promotional bonuses and rewards. As a thank you for reading this update and so that you might test this new feature out, enter the code PAYOUT in the redemption window to receive 500 FC, courtesy of the HEAVEN CORPORATION. Please keep in mind that some codes may only be available for a limited time. Stay tuned for additional codes in the future.

- New game modifiers: Hydra, Speed Loader, and Randomizer.
- Ricochet has a chance to miss again and will properly display when it does.
- Avarice and Holder now activate when shot at if it wasn't a lethal shot.
- The first turn of a round is only randomized for the first round.
- Fixed hype music volume not being affected by game settings.
- Fixed infinite credit bug. (This was only a visual error, no credits were actually gained.)
- Fixed an issue where more cards were being dealt with than intended. (You should only receive a card when you become the target of an attack. Previously if a bullet bounced off of someone else and on to you, that was also dealing out a card. So if multiple Ricochet cards were in play a lot of cards were being dealt instead of just one to the original target.)

Howdy, yall!
Tapkeeper here along with the team at DEAD MANS HAND Saloon bringin you exciting news straight from the Wild Frontier.
First and foremost, we know you fine folks love a good wager, so were bettin youll like this news: players can now use their Frontier Credits in a number of new ways! Some of you already noticed you can place bounties on surviving players after youve been eliminated, but those divine minds at the HEAVEN CORPORATION are rollin out something new! Keep on reading to find out more.
Character Customization Coloring the Wild Frontier
Starting in the 1.1.0 Colorful Frontier update, patrons can use their hard earned Frontier Credits to purchase new colors for their frontier units! Whether its the clothes, the hair, or even the body, our good friends at the HEAVEN CORPORATION are sparing no expense to let your favorite automatons roll out in style! Ever wanted to see Saloongirl in a blue ensemble? Or maybe the Lawman needs a bit more silver in his mustache? These and more are at your command.
Of course, all patrons will have access to a handful of extra color options right away, so feel free to start gettin all dolled up for the occasion as soon as the patch drops. To usher in this new era of Wild Frontier Fashion, weve also got a new menu for character customization. Just select the CUSTOMIZE option from the main menu. From there youll be able to set your character and colors along with your name and motto. The colors you unlock along the way will be added to your drop down options, with additional colors being added as time ticks along.
New Game Type: Hydra Mode
A handful of players have expressed interest in seeing a game type where you can get your head blown off once or twice but still be in the game. We're happy to share that you've got your wish. Coming in Patch 1.1.0, we've added what we call Hydra Mode when you blow away one head, another one moves into its place.
Players will be able to activate this mode in the pre-game lobby. This mode will grant each player 3 lives. Just heed this word of warning- Hydra Mode is not to be used lightly in games featuring more than just two players. Matches last much, much longer once the Hydra Mode is in play, so prepare accordingly before you jump in.
Exclusive Rewards for Play Testers and Frontier Pioneers
Last but certainly not least, we want to give a very special thank you to those fine patrons who stepped up to the DEAD MANS HAND Saloon when she first began to open her doors. Venturing out into unknown lands is always risky, but those of you who rose to the challenge have made all the difference for us folks here in Heavenside. Thats why we want to show our appreciation with somethin special just for you. Firstly, all patrons who have registered the game to their account prior to the release of patch 1.1.0 will receive an exclusive color for their frontier units. This bonus will automatically be applied to all accounts who own the game prior to the launch of patch 1.1.0, so be sure to snag it before its too late if you want to reap the reward. That's June 27th, for those still on the fence. As an additional thank you to those who not only picked up DEAD MANS HAND after its launch but also those who participated in our testing periods, our beta testers will be receiving an additional exclusive as well in the future, so please keep an eye out for correspondence from our team in the near future.
That's all for this edition of Wild Frontier news. Once again, we offer our most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has purchased DEAD MAN'S HAND: Card Roulette Action. Dead Man’s Hand is a 2-8 player party game that combines the classic game of Russian Roulette with the unpredictable nature of card games. At the start of each round, each player draws a card. After the cards are dealt, one random player gets a turn as the Holder. During their turn as the Holder, they may use any cards they have collected to influence the flow of the game. To finish their turn, the Holder chooses a Target to shoot. If the Target survives the ordeal, they get to draw an extra card and the weapon is passed to the next player. The round ends when a bullet is fired, and the survivors go on to the next round.
Will you be a winner? Or will the next Dead Man’s Hand… be yours?
Welcome to Dead Man’s Hand Saloon. Situated on the edge of the wild frontier, our clientele come from all over to partake in our unique offerings of libations and entertainment. Of course, most are here for one reason in particular— the very game that is our namesake. Step on into our back room and see for yourself. Just be careful if you decide to play— the next Dead Man’s Hand might be yours.
Dead Man’s Hand features a deck of cards that can be used to change the flow of the game. One card is drawn by every player at the start of a new round. Players who survive being targeted also draw one card after being fired upon.
Should you shoot yourself and try to get an extra card, or should you choose someone else and try to eliminate them? Decisions like these will determine the outcome of the game. Just remember…
