Steam Deck/Linux CompatibilityIf you use a Steam Deck or just Linux in general, you'll be happy to know that Linux support is a priority for Dimenshift.
In fact, not only has Dimenshift had Linux support since the beginning, the majority of development for it was done on Linux! Therefore, Dimenshift has a native Linux build.
Also, I've always felt that platformers are usually much more comfortable with gamepads than with keyboards. So controller support has been a priority throughout development, too.
Between these two facts, it just makes sense to make sure that the game works on the Steam Deck. So, Dimenshift already supports the Steam Deck!
In fact, much of the general playtesting was done on my personal Steam Deck, and I have to say that it's probably my favorite way to play the game.
So, while Valve may take a bit to get around to testing Dimenshift on the Deck (Dimenshift isn't exactly a big and well-known game, so it's understandably not a priority), I've done everything I can to make sure it will be verified when they get around to it. And it's already a great experience on the Deck.
I look forward to people enjoying the game on Linux and the Steam Deck!
Thanks!
[ 2024-04-27 16:02:28 CET ] [ Original post ] While investigating strange occurrences on a now-desolate planet, you fall through a portal that takes you to a strange place.
Welcome to "The Disparate,"
a space outside of our Universe, where the physical laws don't quite seem to work right. A space where direction is meaningless.
As you try to escape this maze-like dimension, use the Dimenshift Device to "shift" through walls and evade the "Machines". Explore a strange place that doesn't quite make sense. Discover secrets, and maybe uncover the mysterious origins of this place.
What lies deeper in the Disparate?
Is it danger? Power? Fiction? Reality?...
...Hope?No, probably not that one.
Features:
- A maze of levels requiring exploration to successfully navigate. Enjoy going in circles and feeling lost and confused!
- Unique, challenging, and puzzling platforming mechanics. Shift through walls, re-orient yourself, and pay close attention...
- Lots of secrets, including logs left by a scientist working on a mysterious project. Might these reveal the origins of this strange place?
- 3D auto-runner bonus levels. Can you reach the end of each of them?
- Strange and original music emanating from this dimension, adding to the mysterious atmosphere...
