Fixes and Adjustments
Mods are here! With this update, you can now create mods for the game and subscribe to them via the Steam Workshop. There are already a number of example mods and some first mods made by beta testers. How to get mods
Now that the post-release dust has settled, I'm working on adding modding and workshop support to Airships: Lost Flotilla. You'll be able to add and modify existing weapons, player ships, equipment, and more. My previous game had extensive mod support, so I'm building on my experience to build on its strengths and avoid some pitfalls. For now, you can read the work in progress modding documentation here, or discuss modding the game on the Discord. And again, thank you for all your support, feedback, and kind words.
First off, thank you all for the amazing response! Im happy to share that Airships: Lost Flotilla is now rated Very Positive on Steam, with 76 reviews already. Bonus Ship: Own Airships: Conquer the Skies? Unlock the exclusive Galley ship! Bug Fixes: Fixed non-OS cursor alignment issues. OS cursor toggle now keyboard-selectable. Airships: Lost Flotilla is coming out in seven days! To make the launch a success, I have some things to ask of you:
Straight to the big news:
I've made a small update for the demo of Airships: Lost Flotilla for the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Fest on Steam.
So in annoying personal news, I have really messed up my shoulder again. This is a recurring problem that's been with me for 20 years now, but this time it's pretty bad. I've been unable to do any work for more than a month now. According to my physiotherapist, my infraspinatus and supraspinatus are messed up. Apparently, those are muscles, not dinosaurs. So, I'm doing my physiotherapy exercises and putting creams on it and generally doing all the things I can to make my shoulder improve again, but it might take a while, measured in weeks or months, before I'm really able to get back to work. This also means that Airships: Lost Flotilla is delayed. I originally planned to release it in September. Now, realistically, it's going to be early 2025. I know this is frustrating, but trust me, I'm even more frustrated than you are.
With some time having passed from the Next Fest, here's a bugfix/balancing/translation update for the Lost Flotilla demo. I'm also hard at work on the rest of the game wnd will be announcing the release date in the not too distant future. Features
Airships: Lost Flotilla is part of the Steam Next Fest so I'll show you my latest demo with the new overworld map.
I will also reveal the secret code for a new ship.
So be there and watch me get killed by pirates in my own game.

I've done a major update of Airships: Lost Flotilla in time for the Steam Next Fest, based on feedback from players and testers.
The big new thing is that there's now an overworld map. So instead of going straight into the next fight after upgrading, you instead choose where your fleet goes on its journey. Different destinations have pros and cons in terms of what enemies you fight, the rewards you get, the available upgrades, and your relationship with local factions.
For example, you can befriend cultists, gaining their Worm Blessings and unlocking the ability to take their side in later stages of your trip.
Second, I've rebalanced the weapons based on the feedback you provided. Most rebalancings are minor, but I did really rein in the suspendium cannons. They should still be good, but no longer superweapon-level good. There's likely more balancing work to be done, especially because the addition of the map just changed the way the game plays, so this will be an ongoing process.
There's also a few new goodies, such as tentacles you can install as weapons on your ships.
Finally, there's now a mysterious magical keypad in the game...
You can access that by clicking on the magical button in the top right of the main menu.
As before, the game is still very much in development, so I'm very interested in your feedback and suggestions. Do give it a play, and let me know what you think in the forums.
Thank you all for your continued interest and support for Lost Flotilla - nearly 3000 of you have now played the demo!
To help me develop the game further, could you fill out this short questionnaire on weapon balance?
I also have another small bugfix / user experience update today:
One thing that's been confusing to people is what the S key actually does in the controls. It doesn't make your ship move backwards - it's a toggle for the engines so you don't have to hold down W the whole time you want to move. I've updated the little informational graphic at the start of the game and the name of the keys in the settings to hopefully better communicate that:
And since several people have requested it, I've also added a captain with no special abilities so you can continue playing the baseline game after unlocking captains.
Finally there's two bug fixes: the game no longer crashes if you have zero escort slots, and the kraken's attack areas are now shown correctly.
Over two thousand of you have already played the demo of Airships: Lost Flotilla!
Thanks to all of you!
To celebrate this and because Airships: Lost Flotilla is part of the Endless Replayability Fest I just added the Science Vessel to the demo.
You can check out the new ship in the demo now:
