Hello everyone,
Version 0.2.0 introduces exciting updates to game mechanics and resource management. Share your feedback in the comments or on Discord, let us know what you love and what could be improved!
Highlights
Difficulty Settings: A dropdown menu now controls overall gameplay settings, replacing the day/night cycle and outlaw disable options. Choose from the following:
Easy: No raids, always daytime, stable resources.
Normal: Raids from Day 2, gradual resource decline.
Hard: Raids from Day 1, tougher raids, faster resource decline, no respawns or saves.
Hardcore: Raids from Day 1, tougher raids, one life, resource scarcity, no respawns or saves.
Example for Normal Difficulty:
Day 1: Peaceful exploration
Day 2: The bear raid begins, resources start declining a bit and aggressive NPCs begin to spawn.
Day 3+: NPC raids intensify with grenades.
Day 5+: Raids include C4, making survival even tougher
Day 6+...
A detailed explanation can be found in our wiki.
Raids now start at moonrise, with distinct music playing depending on whether a raid is triggered or it's a peaceful night. The bear attack from placing raw meat in a campfire has been removed, along with the raid triggered by defeating the red soldier near the bunker. Raids are now predictable, providing a clear rhythm and game loop.
We hope that the combination of PvP and PvE game modes, along with the variety of difficulty options, offers something for everyone.
New Vending Machine System: Vending machines are now categorized into Crafting, Food, and Ammunition, making them easier to use and navigate.
Resource Management: Adjusted loot drops, crafting materials, resource costs, and stack sizes to balance loot and prevent inventory overflow.
Weapon Upgrade: Improved firing angles make it easier to hit targets from higher or lower positions.
We are truly excited to hear your thoughts on the changes and the direction were taking with the game. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, so please share your impressions with us in the comments, on Discord, or in the Steam Forums!
The game will continue to have the three main modes: PvP (Player vs. Player), PvE (Player vs. Environment), and Deathmatch. These will stay in the game to let players choose how they want to play, whether it's teaming up, fighting other players, or competing in all-out battles.

Welcome to Ruins To Fortress, a side-scrolling multiplayer survival indie game set on an atmospheric dystopian island. Your journey begins as you hang and glide from a drone, landing on an island shrouded in mystery and inhabited by outlaws and corporate security guards, beckoning you to uncover its secrets.
In Ruins To Fortress, a full day-night cycle lasts 45 minutes. Choose between Player vs Player (PvP) or Player vs Enemy (PvE) modes. Pick your survival strategy—search for loot in containers and chests, or farm and sell your harvest at vending machines.
Build and design bases to protect your area and control the island's resources. Use a boat to navigate around enemy bases, craft tools and gear, hunt animals, and fight other players or NPCs.
You can host your own game or join dedicated servers. During the demo release, our servers can handle up to 100 players as we test the system. We’ve also added 10 languages to the menu for better accessibility.
We are a small indie game studio, exploring and innovating in ways that big AAA studios often can't, dedicated to creating great games.
