Recipes and the Kitchen
The kitchen is where you can unleash your culinary creativity, using
over 120 recipes and
more than 100 ingredients to prepare dishes that offer
24 unique buffs, each
available in 3 tiers, giving you plenty of options to enhance your gameplay.
But before we dive into the details, lets start from the beginning.
What is a Recipe?
A recipe is a consumable item that allows you to cook new dishes in the kitchen. To find recipes, youll need to defeat zombies. Elite zombies have a higher chance of dropping recipes, while normal zombies have a much lower drop rate. Additional ways to acquire recipes may be introduced in the future.
Once youve found a recipe, you can open your inventory, right-click on the item, and use it to read and learn it. After learning a recipe, it becomes available for use in the kitchen provided you have the necessary ingredients.
Recipes are family-bound, meaning that once a recipe is learned by any character, all characters in your family will be able to cook it.
Recipes come in different qualities, ranging from common to superior. However, each recipe is fixed to a specific quality. For instance, the recipe for Coffee is always common, while the recipe for Champions Delicacy can only be found in superior quality.
How do I get the Ingredients for a Recipe?
To cook a dish from a recipe, youll need specific ingredients. These ingredients are listed in the kitchen when you select the recipe to cook.
You can find them all over the world of Persist Online by:
- Defeating zombies
- Looting areas like kitchens or wardrobes
- Harvesting
- Fishing
The Kitchen
Once youve gathered all the necessary ingredients, head to your Safehouse and select the kitchen. Before you can start cooking, youll need to build the kitchen. You can then upgrade it to reduce the time required to cook a dish or expand it to cook higher-quality recipes or multiple dishes simultaneously.
Why should I cook?
Dishes provide time-limited buffs that last for 2 hours. Those buffs are paused when you enter the Safehouse or log out. All 24 buffs are available in 3 tiers, with Tier 1 being the lowest and Tier 3 the highest. The higher the quality of the recipe and therefore the dish the higher the tiers of the buffs.
For example, the Fish Tacos with Lemon Salsa consumable provides the following buffs:
- Damage Tier 2
- Evasion Rating Tier 1
This means youll deal 6% more damage and your evasion rating will be increased by 15%.

All buffs and their tiers run simultaneously. For example, if you already have the Damage Tier 1 buff active and then eat the Fish Tacos with Lemon Salsa, the Tier 1 buff remains active, and the Tier 2 buff is added as a separate, additional buff.
Additional Information
- Elite zombies can also drop already cooked dishes
- You can take most of the dishes you already created and recook them using additional ingredients to create higher-quality dishes
