Point By Hole
In the Point By Hole game mode you are to move the sides of the paddle up and down to roll the ball in the glowing lit hole to score points. But be careful if you are to roll the ball accidently into a black unlit hole it will cost you a life. if you lose too many lives the game will be over.Climb
In the Climb Game mode you will be trying to guide the ball away from every hole. If you touch any hole it will make you lose a life and if you lose too many lives it will be game over. However every hole is moving in either a up, down, left, or right direction making it a challenging experience to dodge every hole thrown your way. Your only goal in this mode is to survive as long as you can and get the best time.High Score Board
This game features a online or local high score board for all game modes. On the online board try your hand at being the best in the world at one of the game modes or even all of them! On the local board you can play against others who use your PC and you can have a friendly competition with people around you you know.Announcement:
Recently the hosting provider I have been using for my website has no longer been in service meaning for a while now the game has lost access to online scores. However I have found a new hosting provider and my website and the scores for the game are back up. The only issue is for the scores I had decently old backups of them and some score boards are out of date. The only one I am aware of that has been effected was the endless mode I know there were some higher ones in there then there are now so I am very sorry to the people who were at one point at the top of the board hopefully you can get back up there!
Another thing to talk about is now the game is using the Unity 6 Engine. I just wanted to say this because all I really did was convert the project from a very old version of unity to Unity 6. I tested the basic functions of the game and it seemed to work fine but I did not have the time to thoroughly test the game so I am asking the community to please report any issues you see and I will try to fix them as fast as I can. The reason for upgrading to Unity 6 was mostly because the old version of unity it was using had a security vulnerability and the mobile port for android was not being accepted by google.
Other than above nothing is really new in this update other than slight bug fixes. Once again I\'m sorry for the inconvenience of the scores and not really being able to test the game too much on the new unity version. Thanks for understanding.
Additions
Climb Point game mode has been added under the sub game modes for Climb.
[/*]When invincible after losing a live the ball will flicker indicating it is invincible and then stop when it is not.
[/*]
Fixes and Optimizations
Fixed a bug with music not playing when using the 3 second delay timer
[/*]Climb modes should now be more optimized for people with bigger screens. (holes would not despawn until hitting the edge or end of your screen so people with bigger displays had more resources used rather than people with smaller displays.)

Additions
-Endless mode is now available. You can also earn the same achievements from Speedball and Classic in the new mode so that the achievements are not completely impossible to get where they were insanely difficult to get in these modes especially classic.
-Added a new achievement for 100 points.
Fixes
-Fixed a bug for phantom hole game mode where if the lit hole changed during the fading cycle it would mess with other holes visibilities.
-Performance for sideswiped and mayhem have been improved.
-Controller detection is now more improved along with menus that are now more reactive with the controllers.
Changes
-removed credits tab
-music is changed back to what it previously was. (I also did not really like the rap music but it was a favor for a friend who I have not seen in a while. Besides I paid for the music I previously used so may as well use it.)
-the climb game modes are now more difficult. The speed of the holes now increase over time. Due to this change I have had to delete all the previous scores for those game modes on the online board to make it fair.
Additions
-added a new game mode called "SpeedBall" where you have to put the ball in the glowing hole while making the ball go as fast as possible into that hole to get more points-added more compatibility with wired and Bluetooth controllers
-added more volume settings in settings menu
-added 8 more achievements for phantom modes and new mode + one for getting all achievements
Fixes
-fixed a bug with the pause and game over menu buttons not workingThis is probably the last update for a while as I am now off of my break and will have way less free time to work on the game. The little free time I have will be mostly targeted at fixing bugs if I even have time to do that.
Also, Not sure if I ever mentioned this but this game is also on Google Play so if you have an android device you can play it on the go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SKS.KeepItSteady&hl=en_US
-Fixed Horizontal Master Achievement from not triggering
-Code Optimizations
Sorry for the slow update, I was aware of the achievement issue for a while now (Thanks to the community!) but was not able to find the time to do it till now. I will try to make more updates featuring more content as soon as I can but for now since I am on a winter break I will try to focus mainly on fixing as many bugs as I can find and that the community reports.
-Added Phantom Game mode where objects in the level will flicker
-Optimized game
-Optimized online score board
-Some game modes have name changes
-Fixed Score overlapping
-Fixed game modes timers to show a real number of time unlike the previous way (3min, 2min, etc)
-Added a credits tab
-Changed some of UI
-Logo is now animated
-New game soundtrack featuring YUNGMATTY & ZAY
New Game modes are added and now split into sub game modes. The classic Keep It Steady game mode that was available in the begging is now called the Point By Hole game mode (Crappy name I know. Didn't know what else to call it.) and the new game mode is called Climb.
The Climb game mode has currently only 4 sub game modes each with their own twist. In this game mode you will be avoiding all holes however they are falling from the top, bottom, left, and right side of the screen depending on the sub game mode you chose.
The PBH Game mode currently only has the original mode the game came with. I may add more but right now nothing is planned.
There is more achievements added now for the new game modes.
There probably wont be anymore updates for a while. (Other than bug fixes probably.)
-Fixed scoring system. This way each player will have their 3 highest scores shown if they are high enough to get on the board.
Expect a few more improvements later on including new game modes.
This post is just to celebrate the release of Keep It Steady on Steam!
6 Months ago I started working on this game (which really isn't that long ago) for my dad who likes playing arcade and retro games. This game was originally inspired by a old mechanical arcade machine game called Ice Cold Beer that my dad used to like playing.
My dad thought this game was really cool and told me it would be interesting to see it made into a video game, so that's what I did. After a few weeks I made a sort of functioning version of Keep It Steady and over a few months later I had fixed, improved, and added various features to the game until finally releasing it on Google Play and than Steam.
Today the game has controller support, online and local high score systems, and much more other features. In the future I will try to continue adding more and more features to the game making it better and better for existing and future players!
