The Spire Awakens
Civilization has waited 1,000 years for the Spire to reopen its doors...Return to the Spire and face friends and foes in this sequel to the quintessential roguelike deckbuilder. How high will you ascend... and what truths lie at the top?
Deckbuilding Galore
New slayers join the fray with their own sets of cards, mechanics, and personalities. Try out more archetypes and master them at your own pace. The Spire forever awaits those who dare challenge it...An Ever-Changing Spire
The Spire isn't what it used to be. New enemies, events, and treasures await as the rooms and items you discover change each time you play... Try risky builds or play it safe as you explore countless different strategies, find yourself in peculiar scenarios, and confront the Bosses of each Act.
New Ways to Play!
That aren't yet announced...Rebuilt from the Ground Up
Slay the Spire 2 was completely rewritten from the ground up in a new game engine! We're bringing in modern features, incorporating all-new visuals, and expanding moddability.Coming to Early Access. Again!
Slay the Spire's success comes from our community! It sounds corny, but the extra mile many of you went to report issues, translate content/announcements, create long video essays, make excellent (lol) tier lists, and draw goofy or gorgeous fan art is the reason we're doing it all again. We love our job!
The Neowsletter - July 2025
\n\nThrumming Hatchet might look innocuous, but the consistency it provides is surprisingly strong. You may have noticed an older version of this card on our store page, but we are constantly iterating in development and will be refining balance up until release!\n\n
\n\nRolling Boulder is an inevitable powerhouse and one of my favorite new cards to build around. \n\n
\n\nScrawl sure looks familiar.... what is that doing here? \n\n
\n\n\n\n
\n\nThe Twig asks: Pretty much every humanoid character either has an obscured face or lacks one altogether. I interpret this as a stylistic choice, but is there an in-universe reason for this?\nCasey: There\'s not an in-universe reason for it, it\'s a stylistic choice since I feel that players feel more like the character they play when a face is obscured/masked/covered\n\nmakeshiftotaster asks: Why is the client icon for Slay the Spire 2 currently the card art for Burst? Is this just placeholder, or will this be the client icon for the early access release? If the latter, is this subtle confirmation that Burst (and Double Tap/Amplify) will be back?\nCasey: I want the icon to be green\n\n
\n\nNow let\'s see whose hypotheses we chose to highlight...\n\n
\n\nThe award for best (and seemingly only) Spire Spotting comic goes to PixelPenguin!\n\n
\n\nThe secret bonus award for referencing Demi\'s current favorite game goes to Alina, who used this as an opportunity to guess the Roaring Knight\'s true identity.\n\n
\n\nThe award for most inaccurate yet strangely accurate at the same time goes to Zwebbo!\n\n
\n\nAnd the award for most accurate overall goes to Msterblster!\n\nHere is a selection of other great submissions we received! You\'ll notice people saw spherical objects and instantly thought of orbs for Some Reason.\n\n
\nCredit from left to right: Anybodyyoudontknow, whoness, Tank, kgrmeagc, beaker, Wolfluoride, yaza33, , KSA, WildSamich, Ada, Neossir, z4nzimoon, GreatGopher, INactiveRadio, vexnator\n\nAnd now all that\'s left is to unveil the monster in question:\n\n
\n\nIt\'s a knight with flails!! A Flail Knight, even. I wonder what happens to you when you\'re inflicted with its flailing... only time will tell. That\'s all we\'ve got to cover today, so--\n\n
\n\n...Or not! It appears something just emerged from the overgrowth, but we can\'t quite make it out just yet. If you have any clues as to what this creature could be, be sure to submit them via fanmail@megacrit.com or in our Discord\'s fanart channel!\n\n
\nGrab your popcorn folks, it\'s time for another Slay the Spire Connections puzzle !\n\n

See you all next month :D
\n\nHi again everyone, it\'s time for a July update!\n\nI don\'t have any clever things to say in this intro, let\'s just get into it. This month we\'ll take a sneak peek at Colorless Cards! \n\n
The Cards Without Color
\n\nHey everyone, Anthony again with some more card previews. This time, we are showing some Colorless cards that any character can make use of. We are making a bunch of new Colorless cards, tweaking some old ones, and even changing some old cards to now be Colorless.\n\n
\n\nThrumming Hatchet might look innocuous, but the consistency it provides is surprisingly strong. You may have noticed an older version of this card on our store page, but we are constantly iterating in development and will be refining balance up until release!\n\n

\n\n\n\nQ&A with Casey & Anthony
\nMost of the questions seem to revolve around fishing for spoilers so it\'s been difficult to get content in here this month. I\'m an extreme spoiler hater so do keep that in mind when you submit stuff to fanmail@megacrit.com!\n\nTabbyCat asks: Will there be more \"written\" lore for STS2 (like a bestiary with descriptions of the enemies you fight)?\nThe Aloner asks: Hello! I recently started playing Slay the Spire, and was wondering if StS2 will have more lore/worldbuilding regarding the characters. I really liked the events in the first game.\nCasey: Ya\n\nKodiak Crew asks: Can you please show us a new card for the Necrobinder? Pleaseeeee.\nAnthony: No\nCasey: Sure ok. But only this much.\n\n
\n\nThe Twig asks: Pretty much every humanoid character either has an obscured face or lacks one altogether. \n\nDemi here! Time to resume our research into the Spire\'s mysterious flora, fauna, and fiends!\n\nAs a refresher, this was last month\'s silhouette:\n\n
