Hey there beautiful people! The latest major update for Armello, v1.3 Lock & Key is now live on Steam! We're incredibly proud of Lock & Key, there's a number of new features, various improvements and a tonne of bug fixes and polish, but the biggest news is our full integration of Steam Inventory into the game. So let’s talk about that.
As of v1.3, as a reward for participating in public multiplayer games (any game where you've queued to find players), players may be awarded either a Chest or Key upon completing a game and returning to the Main Menu. Chests and Keys are released in 'Collections' and each Collection features approx. ten (10) unique dice across four rarities; Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. Players can unlock Chests using Keys of the same Collection (i.e., to unlock this collection's 'Wyld Chest', you’ll need a 'Wyld Key'), and upon doing so will be rewarded with a random die from that Collection. Obviously the higher the rarity the lower the chance they’ll drop.
Should you find yourself with numerous dice of the same rarity and from the same collection, you can sacrifice five (5) of them in exchange for a random die of the next highest rarity, from that same collection. You can access the transmogrification process via the Inventory menu by selecting a die that has the tag 'Transmogrifiable'. Note: Only dice from seasonal Collections can be transmogrified.
Collections are seasonal, so new Collections will be released periodically. With each new Collection you can expect to see a new Chest and Key set, as well as ten (10) or more new dice. When a new Collection is released, it will replace the previous one. So Chests and Keys from the previous Collection will no longer drop after multiplayer games. However, you will of course still be able to purchase Chests, Keys and Dice from that Collection on the Steam Community Marketplace. Which brings us to…
Got a bunch of dice? Had two of the same dice drop in a row? Or just wanna get your hands on that Epic die asap? The Steam Community Marketplace is your friend. Dice, Chests and Keys from seasonal Collections are all fully tradable and marketable on the Steam Community Marketplace. So you can trade and sell the stuff you’ve collected, and of course buy anything you need from other Armellians. . Additionally, there’s full Marketplace integration within Armello so you can launch the Marketplace from within Armello wherever that need may arise. To grab a missing key. To sell that particular die. Etc.

In addition to this, we’ll be giving away Keys for the current Collection on the stream. And depending on its success may potentially continue this trend into the future.
