Exciting Updates to "Creatures Of War" Demo! Greetings, fellow survivors! We're thrilled to share the latest improvements to the "Creatures Of War" demo. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we've been hard at work enhancing your experience. Gameplay Enhancements We've addressed the healing item concerns by introducing purchasable healing items from the merchant at a premium cost. This addition should provide a better balance to the game's challenge. To keep you on your toes, we've implemented ambush events throughout the level. These unexpected encounters will create more intense horror scenarios, breaking up the predictability of predetermined creature placements. Visual and Audio Upgrades The demo's aesthetics and immersion have been significantly improved with adjustments to lighting and art within the level. We've also updated the main menu theme, replacing it with a creepier, more gripping song that sets the tone right from the start. Item pickups now feature color-coding for easier identification: Red for weapons Green for healing items Light red for traps and grenades This change allows for quick visual recognition of item types before pickup. User Interface Improvements We've made substantial improvements to menu interactions for both keyboard/mouse and gamepad users. You'll notice crisper interactions, improved click response times, and limited UI box persistence for a smoother navigation experience. New keyboard commands have been introduced, including the ability to use Tab to swiftly explore different menu types such as treasure, map, settings, and Bestiary tabs. Technical Improvements Dinosaur death animations have been revamped to eliminate competing animations in edge cases, particularly when using the knife. We've also made significant backend performance improvements, reducing garbage throws and script loads. This should result in a better player experience, especially on lower-end PCs. Looking Ahead Work on the other levels continues at a steady pace. We've entered the polishing phase and expect to complete the entire game within the next 6 weeks. After that, we'll focus on extensive playtesting and final polish before release. Thank you for your continued support of "Creatures Of War"! If you're enjoying the demo, please consider wishlisting the game on our Steam page. Cheers, Tim
