Creatures Of War went live on Wednesday evening and with the launch a few bugs were encountered, a few balance issues were noticed, and adjustments were needed. With that being said here are some of the fixes that will be implemented when downloading version 1.01.
- The shotgun [HEARTSTOPPER] has had its reload speed increased by .15 seconds.
- Black Widow HP reduced by 20, they will now be 1 shot by all pistols.
- Dilophosaurus HP reduced by 20%. They will not be the bullet sponges they once were.
- Cutscene addition to make shooting down the stalactites in the caves more obvious.
- Late game boss HP reduction, for those who are not far into the game, I do not want to give away spoilers.
- Late game boss persistency enacted. Certain bosses were respawning upon death, this should no longer occur.
- Various combat rooms were awkward to fight in, those rooms have been adjusted.
- Various fall through the level bugs have been adjusted.
- Player fast skipping and blacking out the screen forever bug has been fixed.
- The bug where the triceratops kills you and you die while loading the caves putting the player into a zombie state has been resolved.
- Various Grapple Points have been moved for more consistent landing locations.
- Various collider adjustments to ensure the player does not get stuck.
- Adjustments to grenades and traps, they now will work under more conditions, previously they were operating ineffectively in water locations.
- Various ambush adjustments, creatures were spawning and de-activating, more consistency should be noticed across the board.

Hello fellow survivalists, Creatures A war is going to be launching in less than two weeks! As of right now a new demo was just released! This will be our final demo update. This update includes a new gore system, balance tweaks, backend fixes, skipping adjustments, additional save slots, and more. The new gore system detects the type of circumstance that killed the player and then applies proper skin and animation adjustments at runtime to determine the type of death that should occur to the player. Feel free to let the "Triceratops" kill you a few times to see some of the new animations at work! In addition to the new gore system the team has been hard at work balancing, polishing, adjusting, and doing whatever it takes to get "Creatures Of War" ready for launch. Some of the more interesting bits to share with you all includes the boss fight adjustments I have been making personally. The Spinosaurus boss fight for example had a bridge that could be "camped on" quite easily to avoid having to fight the creature where he could use his full arsenal of attacks. I realized how easy it was to abuse this fight and came up with the idea to have the geysers in the room to produce steam that would damage the player over time if they remained on the bridge. This then forces the player to use the zipline nearby to relocate to the floor where the Spinosaurus is located, and thus the fight ensues, face to face. Simple gameplay adjustments such as the previous example have been added all over the game to make "Creatures of War" a more fun and enjoyable playthrough experience for every to take in on October 23rd. For now the team will be tirelessly working until the finish line. While there is still a lot of work left to be done, I believe it is possible to get everything strung together in time for release. The creatures of war demo is a few weeks away from completion. We have been polishing the interactions between the player and the merchant to make purchasing, selling, and upgrading weapons / items as seamless as possible. The level itself has been balanced many times to make sure that we are not going to run into any difficulty spikes that would be deemed unfair by the player. In the last few weeks the demo has undergone a major lighting change. At first rooms were unlit and looked rather bland, with the new lighting adjustments, rooms that were once uninspiring now instill fear and wonder. Take a look for yourself at the adjustments that were made.
The demo will be the first major marketing push for Creatures Of War since the announcement of Creatures of War. Any and all feedback from the demo will be greatly appreciated. If you were wondering why the forums have been so quiet, well the team and I have been hard at work polishing the core features. These pillars have finally gotten to the point where I thought a gameplay trailer would properly capture the essence of Creatures Of War. In each new clip the player is wielding a different weapon. We focused on giving the player a lot of different weapons to choose from to allow you to survive in the style that best suits your playstyle. That is why we showcased the sniper head shots, the cryogrenade freezing the Velociraptor, and the sub-machine guns. We also showed a lot different creatures because we wanted to showcase how diverse the enemies can be. In one of the clips you are fighting a mighty Spinosaurus 10X the size of you, in another sequence you are shooting a compy that is 1/5 your size with a shotgun. Yet whether the enemy you are encountering is big or small, in the right circumstances, anything can overwhelm you. At a later date we will create another trailer that will focus on the survival horror elements of the game. Resource management, sad survivor stories discovered through audio and text logs, and spooky areas that lead you into tense hair raising situations. Let me know what you think of the trailer!
