Ultimate Arena is receiving an update!
We have just launched our first PTB in order to find and fix potential issues before releasing the patch.
If you'd like to try out this build, just select "public test" from the drop down menu in the Ultimate Arena game properties on Steam.
After having done this, launch the game and select "Play debug version".
You can host a session from the "Host Game" menu and other players using the PTB will be able to join.
We'll be running a few dedicated servers of our own shortly after releasing 1.8.
Here's the changelog so far:
- Updated game engine.
- Added new map: TDM - Factory.
- Added underwater combat.
- Added performance awards (Multi-kills, Accuracy and Perfects).
- Added color picker in the settings for Ultimarine characters.
- Added playable warmup mode. You can now explore maps before other players join the session.
- Added player taunt action (default is "U" key).
- Added notification for players who join/leave the current session.
- Added third person animation for Gas Rifle secondary fire.
- Added max spectators setting to "Host Game" menu.
- Added working "Join as spectator" checkbox in "Join Game" menu.
- Added tooltips while hovering over scoreboard icons.
- Armor now absorbs damage, protecting health.
- Slightly increased player acceleration.
- Fixed an issue which caused player positions to desync when connecting to a match in progress.
- Fixed FPS counter resetting when opening the scoreboard.
- Fixed Plasma Cannon projectile collision issue which caused plasma balls to collide as soon as fired.
- Fixed Gas Rifle primary fire sometimes causing harm to player when not intended.
- Fixed spectator not being able to move as Host on personal sessions.
- Fixed specator mode sometimes causing game to crash.
- Adjusted post processing to reduce excessive light glare effects.
- Changed Ultimate Damage powerup effect on player weapons.
- Minor changes and improvements to UI, particles and gameplay.
