It is with a heavy heart that I have to officially announce the Ultimate Arena big update cancelled. I regret to inform you that due to a lack of commitment from two of the developers it is no longer possible to continue developing content for the game. A very difficult decision was made by me to completely halt development, since the key people who were supposed to be working on the project aren't able to do so anymore. The process of working on the big update was rocky and inconsistent and I was looking at a drawn out process which in the best case scenario would have ended with a bare-bones build consisting of only one level. Simply put, there was a lot of work to be done and precious little time to be spared. On a personal note, I am extremely disappointed in this turn of events and did everything in my power to keep the project alive despite the drawbacks. Sadly it wasn't meant to be, and I don't have the means to work on the project alone. I would like to offer my most sincere apologies to everyone who, like me, was waiting for the update to arrive. The current version of Ultimate Arena will remain of Steam and can still be played via "Host Game", so nothing has changed in that regard. Project lead Kenneth 'Zeb89' Caselli
Hello ultimarines, While we may have been somewhat quiet during the past months, we've been tirelessly working under the hood to bring you the largest update to Ultimate Arena yet. Here is a list of some of the things you can expect:

Ultimate Arena is receiving an update!
We have just launched our first PTB in order to find and fix potential issues before releasing the patch.
If you'd like to try out this build, just select "public test" from the drop down menu in the Ultimate Arena game properties on Steam.
After having done this, launch the game and select "Play debug version".
You can host a session from the "Host Game" menu and other players using the PTB will be able to join.
We'll be running a few dedicated servers of our own shortly after releasing 1.8.

Hello, Ultimate Arena players. We're sorry to have to bring some bad news: We'd like to let everyone know that we are currently unable to issue frequent updates for Ultimate Arena as we intended. This unfortunate set of circumstances has come about due to the fact that we no longer have the proper resources to finance work on the game. However, the game is certainly NOT dead and isn't going to shut down. The current build of Ultimate Arena will remain available for everyone to play and anyone will be able to start their own game server. Should the situation change in the future, we'll be the first to let you know. As it stands, we have no other option but to put the project on hold for now. --- On a personal note, I appreciate the positive feedback Ultimate Arena has received from the small but loud FPS Arena community. We love FPS Arena as much as you do, which is the main reason we decided to make this game in the first place, instead of pursuing some other more profitable game genre. In spite of all our efforts we reached a point where working on the game would put in jeopardy our day jobs, thus focing us into this decision. With only 2 people working on Ultimate Arena, we really don't have a choice. Furthermore, we're sorry to see that most FPS game have taken the same turn. Wickland, Nexuiz and Painkiller H&D just to name a few. It is apparent to us that the FPS Arena genre is no longer as popular as it once was. The game however will get updates if we ever get the chance in the future. This is the best we can promise at this point. We hope you understand the situation and we share your dissapointment.

Weapons

Gauntlet
You spawn with it. This short ranged melee blade will hack and prune anyone dumb enough to get too close up and personal.
Pistol
You spawn with it. The long range and moderate firing rate will allow you to pick off enemies at both medium and long distances, providing they don't overtake you with heavier firepower. Secondary fire uses ice charges which are able to temporary freeze opponents, bogging them down.
Shotgun
The pump action shotgun inflicts considerable damage at close range.
Double Shotgun
Slower than the pump action shotgun but twice as deadly at close range.
Assault Rifle
A special hybrid automatic rifle which peppers foes with 16mm rounds even at long range without ever having the need to reload. Lethal if you have an accurate aim.
Shredder
This unique and nasty tool fires a pair of circular blades in quick succession. You can ricochet them off walls and slice foes who are out of your line of sight.
Rocket Launcher
Blow stuff up. Solve problems.
Grenade Launcher
This particular model is able to detonate your grenades at any given moment by using secondary fire.
Laser Prism
The electric beam is able to harm targets at medium range. Your accuracy will determine the outcome of the fight.
Plasma Cannon
Designed to sweep large areas with plasma projectiles. You'll need to properly predict the enemies movement in order to get the best out of this weapon.
Gas Rifle
This thing spews foulness all over the place. Good for crowd control. The low damage is heavily compensated by the large area of effect.
Crossbow
Primary fire shoots deadly bolts at high speed. Secondary fire also consumes electricity ammo but allows higher range and damage by using electrified arrows.
