Synopsis
You and your co-worker Nanako have always had a bitter rivalry. Finally, on the order of your boss, you two have to cooperate for once. What bottled up feelings will this predicament reveal? Will it reignite your long-lost feelings for Nanako? Where did it all go wrong between you and her? And how will she eventually help you to reconnect what you've lost in touch with: that there is more to life than just being a productive workaholic?

Settings and Story
A flawed protagonist: the protagonist is not a perfect ladies' man or a knight in shining armor. He is a talented and well-dressed company star, but he is also a workaholic with insecurities and trust issues.
Grounded characters with relatable personalities, life challenges, and daily worries: not everyone has the perfect life, and by helping his colleagues with their problems, the protagonist also learns new things about himself.
An 'authentically Asian' setting: Heart City is a fictional city that's inspired by real-life places, settings and cultures. For example, the protagonist's love for eel noodles that shows his soft side.

Love interest:
Nanako Takagi, 29, is the protagonist's coworker and work rival. Talented and beautiful, she secretly has feelings for him. But what attracts her to him? And how did their rivalry start?
Colleagues:
Seon: The company's boss who tries to balance between being strict with being caring.
Gee: Upbeat and easy-going, but nervous about meeting his girlfriend's parents.
Michelle: Composed and dedicated, with an underlying fear of coming out of her shell.
Other coworkers: Hanie, Liem, intern Mami, and Sayori.
Other characters:
Isamu: Someone from Nanako's past! Smug, rich and arrogant!
Yejin: The boss' wife who can help the protagonist with his workaholism.
Emi: Gee's girlfriend who likes to talk about scary rumours!
Mei and Min: The father-and-daughter duo who run the late night food stall the protagonist likes to visit.

So what have I been up to and what can you expect in the future? After the release of Office Rivals had settled down, I decided to take a much needed break. Office Rivals took 2 years to develop, and it was quite an upgrade from my first VN (Office Rivals is my 2nd VN but the 1st to go on Steam).
What\'s Next?
Right now I\'m working on my next VN! In fact, during my 3-month break in June, July, and August, I was actually doing a lot of improvement work and experimentations, and learning new things, and making my art better!

The Heart City Stories is an anthology in a shared universe, with various recurring characters.
I will announce more details soon. In my next blogpost, I will also talk a little bit about the game\'s universe, love interests, and other characters and stories so you can have a picture on what to expect in the future! In the meantime, feel free to drop a review which is much needed for a small dev like myself, and to help Steam algorithm as well.
