How's your portfolio doing?
Today we're pleased to release The Stonks Market, right here on Steam. It's a simple trading simulator with a funny story about a rather clueless guy who gets into all kinds of trouble through the stock market.
You'll get access to a basic trading terminal, a stimulus check, and enough time to risk it all gambling on bad plays you've barely researched. All of this while you contend with a frustrated wife, too many know-it-all advisors, and the crippling fear of losing it all in an instant. Kinda like real-life, huh?
Whether you're an avid stock bro, a crayon-eating monkey, or never touched a trading app in your life, The Stonks Market is worth a few laughs. We hope you enjoy all its wild characters and bizarre scenarios.

The game is available right now with a 25% Launch Discount:

You can also pick it up as part The Stale Meme Collection for even more savings:

Oh, and one more thing...
ALL APES TO THE MOON!

Wow. The calendar just kind of melted away, huh?
It feels like yesterday we were prepping for launch, and now we're officially 6 months past release.
To celebrate, SAM is 30% off, and ASM is 70% off until October 12.
A lot has happened in that time (both in-game, and out), but it's been a great ride so far.
There have been nearly 60 build updates for Sometimes Always Monsters, including over 600 individual changes, additions or improvements, along with around 30 significant new content additions (features, scenes, or significant characters).
Needless to say, the game has changed a lot since launch, and will continue to evolve as we casually work on it. We still love adding things, improving the experience, and expanding the world players can explore with each subsequent playthrough. Thanks to its success, we have runway to continue doing this for the foreseeable future, and appreciate all of the feedback we've been given from the community.
On top of the updates, we managed to drop some Hot DLC, release Karen: An Outrage Simulator to rave reviews (our highest rated game ever), complete two game jams with our community, start preliminary work on our next major project, and maintain a routine streaming schedule.
It's been a wild half-year, and we couldn't be happier with all that's happened. Despite the world being so turbulent, our community has been incredibly supportive of our efforts, and we can't thank y'all enough. This has been one of the most productive periods in our company's history, and we've got your motivation to thank for it.
Take care, and we'll see you at the next update!

With only a month left until Sometimes Always Monsters finally releases, we've had a few questions about pricing. We thought we'd take the opportunity to make the announcements now so that nobody feels left out or misses their chance to get the best deal.
Across all storefronts, Sometimes Always Monsters will be $19.99 USD
Were offering Steam Key pre-orders at VagabondDog.com for $14.99 USD
During the first week of release, we will be offering a more moderate discount.
Of course, even if you're already set to get the game on April 2, 2020, it would help us a lot if you wishlisted the game before launch day. It's like blessing us with your algorithmic influence!
http://store.steampowered.com/app/441440/
We're also really excited to announce that we'll be making an appearance at PAX East 2020 in Boston. Our setup will be located in the Indie Megabooth in booth #22040. Come by and say hello, grab some swag, and play the latest demo!
Finally, we've been posting some new screenshots on our Twitter. If you're just can't wait for release, hopefully some of these will help soothe the continuing agony of waiting.
Once again, we can't wait for the big day to finally arrive. April 2, 2020 is a lot closer than it seems, and we're thrilled that all of you are so excited to play the game.

Like what you've seen? Good.
We've been working really hard on it for a long time.
Consider adding Sometimes Always Monsters to your Steam Wishlist.
It'll remind you about release and discounts, as well as help us with some promotion.
Also, if you haven't already, consider Joining our Discord.
It's a pretty cool community, and we post news there regularly.
Anyway, it's back to working on the final touches and such for us. We're still an incredibly small team and this game's gotten way bigger than we ever really intended. Thanks for your support and we'll talk soon.

Greetings Vagabonds, There's a new video on the YouTube channel today. It features indie game and narrative maven, Will O'Neill. https://youtu.be/0e70i9r8hvI For those of you who aren't familiar with the man, Will O'Neill is another Toronto-born-RPG-Making-wordsmith who broke onto the scene circa PAX East 2014. He's been slinging verbs and sharpening adjectives across the industry ever since. We are very fortunate to have him join Vagabond Dog as an Associate Writer to help develop an extensive series of unique vignette sequences that help define and expand the profiles of our bus friend characters in Sometimes Always Monsters. There's been one written for every possible pairing in the game, centralized on how the characters experience each other outside the purview of your influence. Some other games Will has written for: http://store.steampowered.com/app/288040/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/350970/

Hello Vagabonds,
We know you have been waiting patiently for updates on our sequel, Sometimes Always Monsters. Many of you had begun to speculate if we'd abandoned the project, run into extreme difficulty, or just plain died.
The truth is, we have been electively quiet and hard at work on the game.
It is a much bigger endeavour than we thought when first announcing our optimistic 2016 release plan. Since failing that, we have all been working overtime so that the game may meet our internal quality standards and release to all of you as soon as possible.
Rest assured, the game is getting better each day.
However, despite all of this, you faithful deserve updates.
We know how much you miss us on the daily, but this recent absence from the community has pushed the team in exciting new directions.
So, we've partnered with an independent production company to launch our official YouTube channel.
This channel is currently featuring a short documentary and a playlist of clips from our west-coast bus tour on the way to PAX West.
We call it...
Vagabond Dog Presents: A Bus Ride to Eternity/Oblivion
You can watch it here: youtube.com/c/VagabondDog
----------------------------
Going forward we will be uploading new content of varying quality on a semi-routine schedule. Our studio has never done anything like this before, and so we will be relying on your feedback as we continue.
Completing development on Sometimes Always Monsters remains our top priority. This was the reason for us partnering with Curio Films to develop this project while our creative team continues their work.
Please, enjoy the show and set your minds at ease.
The game will be yours before long, 2020 is less than 4 years away!
All the best,
Vagabond Dog

Hey Vagabonds, We've had a lot of people e-mail, tweet, and ask us in person how we got started making Always Sometimes Monsters and the always simple to use RPG Maker system is invariably part of our answer. While RPG Maker VX Ace (and it's grandpappy XP) are incredibly easy to use, with the right dedication and some inventive thinking it can do a lot of things you'd never expect from such a neophyte-friendly tool. With that in mind, we are happy to announce that in partnership with Degica and the folks at RPG Maker Web we are launching Environments Inspired by Always Sometimes Monsters. This is a fully-featured tileset system for RPG Maker VX Ace that uses resources pulled from Always Sometimes Monsters and reformatted to work in any modern-setting project. Whether you're producing a fangame or an original work, this pack will get you on your way to building fleshed out cities, offices, hospitals, homes, and a whole lot more. If you're interested in developing games, RPG Maker is a great place to start and hopefully this new asset pack will help you on that journey. - Always Sometimes Monsters Linux [1.3 G]
Out of money and out of luck you find yourself heart broken and on the verge of collapse. Your landlord's taken the key back, you can't finish your manuscript, and your beloved is marrying someone else. With no choice but to handle whatever life throws at you, you set out on the open road on a mission to win back the love of your life. The story from there is up to you. Can your life be salvaged, or are we always sometimes monsters?
Choice
A story-driven experience focusing on relationships and emotional bonds rather than traditional RPG combat and adventuring. Indecision is your enemy and empathy is your weapon in a quest to earn one last chance to win back the love of your life.
Circumstance
Choose from characters of different gender, race, and sexual preference and live through the common experiences and unique hardships of each based on your selection. NPCs may treat you differently based on your gender, race, or sexual preference opening and closing different paths along the way.
Consequence
Each playthrough is filled with a staggering number of diverging paths that can be discovered through both overt actions and subtle choices in conversation. The journey you experience will be tailored to your personal ethical compass as your decisions both conscious and subconscious change your fate.
