Hello everyone!
So you may have noticed that we're running a pretty crazy promotion on Vertiginous Golf. For the next 24 hours, anyone with a Steam account and get the game for free, to keep and play forever. After these initial 24 hours, the game will be 50% off for the rest of the week! So grab your friends, get the game now while you can, and head to those majestic greens in the sky.
The promotion has been running for a few hours already, and the sudden influx of new players online has caused some issues for our servers. Some of you may experience issues finding your friends in the online lobby systems - we are currently working on a fix that we will roll out as soon as possible. While we thought we were prepared for a steady stream of new golfers, seems that our brand of dystopian Steampunk golf brought in more players than we originally anticipated! We thank you for your patience, and urge you all to watch out for another announcement when we've got the issue under control.
Now that we have a new set of players, we can't wait to see the high scores and records be smashed! We might even organise some kind of community cup challenge in a few weeks, so make sure you stick around the community hub.
Onward and upward, to the greens in the skies.

Hello golfers, The Steam Summer Sale is in full swing, so tell all of your friends that they can grab Vertiginous Golf now while it's 50% off, and then get to work on some multiplayer shenanigans! Today we're launching an update that makes some minor changes that should help with the difficulty of Vertiginous Golf. We've added a new "see through" effect which makes sure that the ball, club, bird and hole are always visible. This means that your view will never be blocked by obstacles which should help players out of some tight spots. We've also added a simple aiming guide that will help you line up those long shots. We expect a totally impressive YouTube montage of trick shots any day now. Both the see through effect and aiming guide can be turned off in the Options menu. Finally, we've added in some code that helps ease the ball into the hole making it slow down. We realised that people were smashing the ball when close to the hole purely by accident too often, and we hope this minor change will put an end to that. So head to the skies! Keep cool and caddy on. Steve - Community Manager ------------------------------------------------------- Changes ------------------------------- 1.2 - 12/6/2015 - Added a "See through" effect so ball, club, bird & hole are always visible - replaces auto-correct on camera (option to disable) - Added an aim guide line for lining up shots (option to disable) - Added code to make ball fall in hole a little easier - Re-arranged course menu so story is at bottom and renamed "The backstory" - Fuel now still recharges when rewind unavailable - Added new pieces to course creator - Fixed multiple bugs

Hello golfers! As we march closer towards the May 6 release date for everyone's favourite dystopian steampunk mini-golf adventure game, Vertiginous Golf, we thought now would be a good time to talk about how a narrative exists in the world of Lun-Donne. We sat down with Christian Holland, one half of the Vertiginous Golf development team, to answer the question everyone has been asking - how do you put a story into a golf game? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCy9737T5hU Not long to wait for version 1.0. Once again, we cannot thank you enough for helping us build Vertiginous Golf during the Early Access stage, and we're super excited to see the crazy courses you guys create! Steve - Community Manager.

Good afternoon golfers!
We may have been quiet on the update front, but we have certainly been working hard behind the scenes towards version 1.0 of Vertiginous Golf!
We've gathered tonnes of feedback from players taking on the Battle Arena multiplayer mode, along with making general improvements to the more traditional multiplayer modes. Now we have put our focus into player avatars, customisation, and the course editor.
The above screen shows an in-development version of the course editor. As you can see, we've tried to really simplify the process, having a handy tile system that you can build your course with. Hopefully anyone can get in there and make a course, but for those who want to dedicated whole afternoons to the process, there will be enough depth in the tools that you should be able to create courses from hell.
Just like the multiplayer, this is very much a work in progress right now. We aren't ready to reveal too much more detail, but as soon as we can, we'll get this into your hands!
Finally, we wanted to share this great video from the Mighty Games Squad who filmed a Mini-Putt Face Off on YouTube. It's great to see people having fun with the game, and we can't wait to see more from our fans!

Hello golfers!
After the exciting release of our alpha online multiplayer offerings, Paul and Christian have been hard at work tweaking and making changes to the entire game as it stands thus far. These updates have been rolled into today's larger update, which should have some exciting changes for you all to explore.
First of all, we have reworked the tutorial system in an effort to convey the skills you will need to successfully navigate the intricacies of Vertiginous Golf. Instead of having one long hole that gives you a once over introduction, we have spread the tutorial out over a number of holes, each one introducing a new gameplay mechanic that you are forced to use. Even if you are a veteran of our courses, we'd love to hear your feedback on the new system.
Many of you have been asking for this feature, and I'm happy to report that the guys have implemented a previous shot power marker to the HUD! Now you can see exactly how hard you hit your previous shot in an effort to help you judge that mulligan to perfection. There are also some general tweaks to the HUD as a whole, but this is by far the biggest, and best new feature!
We have also changed the layout of some holes. We found that while the sadists among you don't mind losing 328,764,823 shots to a tricky obstacle, it can be a little offputting for those coming into the game for the first time. So now the less advantageous routes have been made a little easier, with a few barriers put up here and there to prevent some of the mishaps that happen along the way. If you want to get the best possible score however, you are going to have to trek down some of the wilder paths on each course, which should provide a nice balance between a calm, relaxing golf game and the "Dark Souls of mini-golf" references we have become known for.
COMMUNITY BATTLE NIGHT - PLAY WITH US ONLINE!
Now that we have a functioning online multiplayer offering, it's time to meet up and have some fun! We're going to be hosting a couple of community battle nights where you can play with the developers (and myself) in the epic battle mode! Considering we are all spread out across the globe, we've got three time slots available.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 11 - 8:00PM - 9:00PM PT (Vancouver)
Log in and battle Christian to the death!
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 11 - 8:00PM - 9:00PM GMT (UK)
The elusive Paul will be logging onto the servers to deal out some golfing pain!
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 12 - 8:00PM - 9:00PM AEDT (Melbourne)
Think you can beat me? Let's find out!
I've set up the time slots as events on Steam, so if you already own Vertiginous Golf, you should get a notification to remind you to log into your closest region!
Well folks, see you on the greens!

Hello golfers! We know it's been a little quiet on the greens these past few months, but today we can prove the wait has been worthwhile. After countless hours of development and testing, we would like to present the Vertiginous Golf Online Multiplayer Update!
http://youtu.be/floYZgCH324
Vertiginous Golf has never been your average golf game and the developers wanted to keep that a recurring theme when it came to online. As a result we have strange and wonderful modes waiting for you all.
Arena mode - players need to sink their ball into holes spread across the spiraling course to "control" them. Picking up coloured eggs will unlock special attacks that can be performed by controlling your hummingbird, allowing you to attack your foes and defend your turf. It takes a few turns to get the hang of, but it's a crazy amount of fun.
Race mode - there are a few race courses in the game where you will be trying to navigate the course as quickly as possible. Once again you collect eggs to unlock fuel for your Influence Bug and weapons to mess with your competition. You can also turn weapons off in this mode if you want the feeling of a pure race, but where's the fun in that? :stuckouttongue:
Classic mode - this is essentially the same as the offline multiplayer where you simply play a game of golf. There are a few handy twists available; first of all you can turn weapons on or off which spices things up and you all take your shots at the same time which means you’re not sitting there waiting for your friends to make a move.
We're going to let you guys experiment with the new game modes, but as always we want all of your feedback. In the next few weeks we will be organising a series of community play sessions where you can face off against Paul, Christian and the Surprise Attack Games team to see who is the best golfer across the skies! Until then, enjoy! - Steve
Hello Golfers. You may have noticed that we have been a little quiet here for the past month. Paul and Christian have been slaving away on their unique vision for the online multiplayer. I'm happy to report that we have just had our first internal test of the crazy new mode and there will be opportunities for you guys to help us with further testing in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
Today I want to talk to you about narrative. One of the best aspects of Vertiginous Golf is the rich world we have developed. While the major story beats are being handled internally, we thought that crowd sourcing the supplementary content from fans would be really rad so today we're throwing out our first community narrative initiative.
We're asking fans who wish to participate to write some front page material for the VG newspaper! You can write your articles about anything you think would belong in the crazy, steampunk world of Vertiginous Golf, as long as they are within the following guidelines:
Hello golfers! A quick update this week, one that focuses on the Race hole type which we really would love some feedback. Unfortunately the YouTube gods don't want me to upload the flyover video this week, but the latest update on Steam will get you set up on the starting line. Paul and Christian have made significant changes to the first prototype of the first Race hole, so we have reset the leaderboards as a result. They are also debuting a brand new Race hole for you all to explore, and we'd love for you to provide us some feedback in the Race feedback discussion. Changlong is below, and we'll post that video as soon as the YouTube issues are soted. - Steve
Hello golfers! Another week has passed, and after the success of the first VG Cup, Paul and Christian have delivered another content-filled update!
YouTube flyover of new holes
Update 0.52 adds the final 3 holes of the Mini Green course. Golfers will be forced to contend with winding paths, filled with conveyor belts, not to mention some truly cruel free-stroke hole placement. If you manage to get to the final green, you'll often have to adjust your strategy to deal with the various bumps and hills surrounding the hole.
It's fun, but as someone who overly relies on the Influenza bug, which is not included in the Mini-Putt courses, my scores were astronomical at first. After a few rounds with it however, I settled into the groove and now I think I can compete with the rest of you.
Changelog is below, leaderboards have been reset, and we'll be back next week with another update. Don't foget to stop by the various discussions we have on the hub! - Steve
Happy Monday golfers! Just a quick wrap-up post to announce the winners of the very first Vertiginous Golf Cup! Thanks to all those who logged scores on the community voted Median course over the weekend!
Unfortunately however, there can only be three winners of the tournament, so without further adeu, here they are!
Can the winners please email our community contact with your postal addresses, and we'll get the prize packs out to you post haste! We'll speak to you all on Friday with another VG Update - Steve
Hello golfers! This week Paul and Christian have been creating holes like madmen, and as a result we have five new Mini-Putt holes for you guys to test out! Check out the latest course flyover to get a sense of what awaits you.
Update 0.51 Course Flyover on YouTube
Taking the concept a little further than the last Mini-Putt offering, golfers will find themselves already inside a bigger, bolder green room with nothing but their putter and rewind. From there you will have to navigate the dips and hills of the five challenging greens that await you in this update. It's a lot of fun, and it will hopefully offer an entirely new kind of challenge.
We have had a few reports that some gamepad users can no longer control the menu selection, having to reach for their keyboards and mice to start the game. If you are experiencing this issue, please give us your Operating System, Gamepad information (model and wether it's wired or wireless) in this bug thread. Upon further inspection, some of the developers aren't having the issue, and some of us are, so we are currently trying to track and elimiate the issue.
Onto more important things however, the very first Vertiginous Golf Cup has officially started! Over the next three days, the top three ranking players on the finished Median course will receive some sweet swag and be crowned the VG champions. Jump into the registration thread to participate and track the progress!
Finally, we just kicked off a retro gaming discussion of awesome thread where the Vertiginous Golf team has been sharing their collections and memories. If you're an enthusiast, or you just want to share some of your favourite retro gaming moments, jump in!
Good luck over the weekend folks! It's going to be fun! - Steve

[img=http://engagementengine.s3.amazonaws.com/community/articles/normal/update-0-50-completes-the-median-course-mm.jpg] Well folks, the first community voted update is complete! Version 0.50 rolls out the final two Median holes to deliver the first 9 hole course based on community votes! It's been an interesting month or so as we have released the new updates, gathered your feedback, and then push out the next update. Thanks to everyone for being so involved! Without further adieu, here's the course flyover for holes 8 and 9! YouTube Flyover 0.50 Hole 8 offers up a sea of red conveyor belts that will require some real precision to navigate successfully, before landing in a sprawling green room that has its own challenges. Hole 9 is a myriad of loops and belts that eventually throw you into a mountainous green room that is picturesque, yet deadly. As always the leaderboards have been reset, so now its your chance to log in some high scores. Early next week we will begin preparations for the first online Vertiginous Golf Cup, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that information. We have some sweet swag to send out for the top three golfers, so it should be a bit of friendly competition to get people playing over the course of a weekend.
