I have been hard at work, adding many more features and content to Cardinal Sequence. This update greatly expands on the options and build variation available during runs. You can try out this update by downloading the Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3514780 [previewyoutube=mmntFFD4ZGw;leftthumb][/previewyoutube] I also tried myself at a devlog for this update, talking about some of the additions made. Let me know what you think.
New Shop Section
The third section of the shop is available now! Finally, booster packs are no longer limited to be found on the map only. After every round, a selection of booster packs can be purchased as an alternative to buying cards directly. In return for a small upfront credits cost, you can try your luck at finding valuable cards of a specific category.

The visuals and variety of card packs are still a work in progress.
Crits
It is now possible for cards to crit when they are scored. A critical scoring guarantees the maximum points being generated, additionally boosted by the current crit power (default of +50%). Crit chance can go beyond 100%, which means there can be the chance for the crit power to be applied sever times.

Ways to increase crit chance and power are fairly simple at the moment but will be improved and expanded on soon.
Meta-Progression Card Unlocks
Expanding on the card discovery introduced in the last major update, some cards are now locked behind some additional requirements. These cards will not appear during a run until their requirements are met.

This system will see improved communication for when cards (and decks, for that matter) get unlocked or discovered in a future update.
More Card Editions
I have added several more editions to be found, bringing up the number of editions to 6. The new ones are:
- Shifting: 50/50 chance to double or halve rank
- Fractured: x2 mult, then halves rank
- Mirrored: +4 mult when scored
- Monochrome: +50 Score

Help Icons
Help Icons can now be found at some places. Hovering over them shows a quick reminder about the core mechanics of the game. They can be hidden in the options menu.
Improved Animations
I fixed and overhauled many animations, bringing a nicer and smoother experience to the game's flow. This is still an ongoing effort and I'd love to hear of your opinion on them.
Many More Cards
The number of cards to be discovered has surpassed 80. This is certainly not the last time new cards will be added. Many old (and new) cards also received their own models.
Updated Engine
I updated the Godot engine to version 4.4, bringing with it all the improvements and fixes introduced. And, of cause, a bunch of balance adjustments, bug fixes and other minor improvements I forgot to properly write down. Due to the significant changes made, existing save data will be reset.
