News time! Eastern Front, RWR2, Logo, etc
Last Summer, we announced that we are working on RWR2 yet we didn't reveal much since the announcement post and its introduction video. We're changing that for the future as some of you guys are getting really impatient as seen in the video below rwrsoldier rwrsoldier rwrsoldier rwrsoldier We created social media channels dedicated to the (yet early) development of RWR2. You can find a channel on the X platform called @rwr2dev as well as on Tiktok called @osumiagames. As we are just a team of two, we won't spend too much time on the production of fancy video content yet we hope that some regular random and simple screenshots and videos, bloopers and funny visual bugs will be better than just taking another hiatus from posting anything while we move forward with RWR2. "Is Eastern Front still coming out? When will it release? Is it dead?" We have been addressed by these and similar questions. So far our answers have boiled down to, "it will be released but we can't tell yet when", and we haven't discussed or revealed anything about the state of the DLC. To clarify for anyone who does not know, the DLC is being worked on exclusively by only us four DLC developers: Tremozl, TheSoldier, 577 and Unit G17. We all have full time jobs and we work on the DLC in our free time. The base game's developers, Pasik and JackMayol, have no part in the DLC development, they are busy working on the upcoming RWR2 - check out the trailer if you haven't yet!
With that out of the way, let's discuss the state of the Eastern Front DLC. We already have a functional Soviet faction with well tailored soldier models, new calls and a sizable arsenal. Speaking of which, this DLC will introduce over 40 new weapons, not counting weapon variants. Both the German and Soviet factions feature weapons from the early and late stage of the war. When it comes to vehicles, the Soviets will have the largest motor pool of any faction at release. The Germans have also receive a few new toys as well, totaling over 20 new vehicles combined.
As with the previous DLC titles, our greatest roadblock is level work. Adding to the challenge is the time-consuming endeavor of several city levels featuring large numbers of damaged or destroyed buildings. In order to make them look authentic and to maintain the quality we have presented so far, we are working with several new level objects at a scale that we haven't achieved before. As such we are still not confident enough yet to set a release date, but we will keep you updated on our progress in future posts!

RWRStats.com or "RWRS" has been a popular website written by Epoc to track your stats, see who's on the servers, if your friends are online and allowing you to see all the profiles you created and delete them if necessary for both Vanilla as WW2. The login didn't work for a few months but good news, it had been fixed by now, thanks Epoc for the fix!
Here's a quote from him for those of you who want to go a bit more into details:
Steam allows its users to log-in to third-party sites (like rwrstats.com) using a protocol named "OpenID 2.0", which goal is to prevent users to share any sensitive credentials with such sites. That's great, however this protocol is very old and superseded by another (OpenID Connect) since a long time. As a developer, I'm lazy. I was using what we call a "library" allowing to use this protocol, without writing much code by myself. That library however stopped working months ago for an unknown reason, so I had to implement the protocol by myself to solve the issue.

Don't forget to join the community on the Running with Rifles Discord and we'd be more than happy if you could let us know if you like the game and the WW2 DLCs by leaving a review on Steam, as it helps us a lot! Thank you and keep on Running, your Osumia Games

While this Steam post is mainly an informational post, we also added minor fixes for WW2 like listed in the changelog below: Changelog (WW2):

RUNNING WITH RIFLES is a top-down tactical shooter with open-world RPG elements.
In RWR, you join the ranks of an army as a common soldier, just like the thousands around you.
The open world approach lets you define your own path and story in the campaign. Push back the enemy with your comrades or go deep behind enemy lines to sabotage their efforts and loot valuable items.
As you gain experience, you are promoted with higher command over soldiers and equipment. Call in artillery fire missions or paratrooper reinforcements when the situation gets tight! Use your squad to man armed boats, tanks and APC's, or, become the expert lone wolf you always aspired to be - it's up to you!
