Hub World Overhaul & New Trader System


Trader Added:


You can now buy, sell, and transmute items and blueprints found or earned in the game.

Locked Item Tag:


Starter gear cannot be accidentally sold to prevent losing essential equipment.

Final Touches in Progress:


Descriptions, ability effects, and blueprint prefixes are being finalized.

Pickups Do Not Save Yet:


Until the system is fully complete, collected items will not persist between sessions.

Combat Overhaul Now Fully Controller & Fight Stick Compatible!


Fight Stick Recommended! Combat is now 100% compatible with arcade sticks, gamepads, and keyboards.


New Auto-Targeting for Projectile Weapons:


Aim is now automated based on your Crusaders distance and radius stats, locking onto the nearest enemy. All Crusaders Now Have Melee Combos & Abilities! With aiming automated, youre free to chain stylish melee attacks and combos to dominate the battlefield.

Dashing Introduced:


No invincibility frames, but dash distance varies by Crusadersome even deal damage or set up combo attacks!

RTS Crusader Abilities Now Work in Crusader Mode:


Easier to use RTS-based skills while in direct combat.

New Gameplay Mechanics & Features


Rubys Drone & Drill Ability:


Ruby can now call down a drone and drillperfect for mining ore or bullying enemies with massive knockback!

Full Knockback & Juggling System:


All actors can be knocked back, launched, pulled, and juggled if attacks continue mid-air. All Crusaders Can Now Issue RTS Commands While in Crusader Mode! No more constant switching between modes just to adjust your army.

You can now:


Move all units to your position. Send all units to attack your current target. Some factions, like the Red Faction, won't have worker units affected by these commands, while others will.

Faction Updates & New Abilities


Queen & Black Faction:


Queen can now rapidly morph eggs while in Crusader Mode, speeding up unit production.

Blue Faction:


Units can now be whacked to form Tritium Crystals as part of their faction ability. Seraph Refineries will now produce normal Cinnabar as a resource.

UI, HUD & RTS Improvements


Updated HUD for Controller Support:


New button prompts and indicators make it easier to know what to press.

Index System Added:


A new in-game Index is now available, providing lore, feature knowledge, and status effect explanations. More updates will come to expand its information. Map Selection Now More Accessible: Selecting maps is now easier with a more intuitive UI.

Blueprint Selection in Commander Mode Improved:


You can now click on blueprints directly in Commander Modeno more relying on hotkeys!

Visual & Audio Updates


Rubys New Look:


Ruby has received a full visual update, including a new outfit to improve readability.

Yaya & Clan Clan Progress:


Their dual-use mechanics are being refined. Clan Clans outfit is still being worked on, alongside refinements to other girls and faction units. Passive Weapons Tweaked & Visually Updated.

New Shadow & Lighting Tech:


Optimized lighting keeps strong visuals without sacrificing performance.

Projectile System Optimized for Lower-End PCs:


Projectiles now consume fewer system resources, improving performance.

SFX Slightly Updated:


Some sounds have been tweaked, but a full audio update is still in progress.

Tutorial Mode Disabled:


Until the new melee combat system is fully integrated. Crusader Room & Mission Mode: Still in development, but will be added once the main gameplay loop is fully polished. Rogue Faction Spawns Temporarily Disabled. Not All Visual Effects Are Finalized: Some effects are still missing in-game.

The goal is to make menus more user-friendly, visually engaging, and fully navigable with both controllers and mouse & keyboard. A lot of care has gone into refining the experience, and while theres still more work to be done, Im excited to share some of the progress so far!

Whats Changing?


Simpler, Smoother Navigation:


Redesigned menus with cleaner layouts and more intuitive flow. Easier access to key game features without unnecessary steps.

Full Controller & Keyboard/Mouse Support:


Whether youre using a gamepad or traditional controls, the menus will now feel natural and responsive. No more awkward transitionssmooth navigation for all players.

More Personality & Style:


Added unique animations, colors, and UI effects to make menus pop! Menus now feel more alive and engaging, making navigation a part of the experience rather than just a necessity.

Whats Next?


This update isnt live yetIm still fine-tuning things to ensure the best experience possible. As I continue refining the menus, Ill be sharing more updates on cool new improvements, so stay tuned!

TheHub Update Preivew

Thanks for the current support and feedback! As always, Im toiling away and wanted to share some previews of the next update. The focus is on cleaning up the menu screen and hub world of the game. Ive made major steps and improvements to the lighting in that world. Here are some screenshots!




My goal is to nail the anime aesthetic while standing out among other anime-inspired games. Im also focusing on making sure the lighting highlights the best features of each girl in the scene, drawing the player's eye naturally. Theres still a lot of work to do, but Im determined to keep going!

Faction Overviews


Red Terran Republic



A human-like faction that employs automatic building and traditional ore gathering. Unique Mechanic: Worker units must enter structures to build specific units.

Blue Protolith



Mineral-based lifeforms that harness ore itself as a resource. Unique Mechanic: Can only construct buildings on or near ore fields, making expansion crucial to dominate.

Green Nekoto



A diverse group of beast-like aliens organized by clans. Unique Mechanic: Cannot gather ore directly but use slavery to collect resources and sacrifice slaves to train new units.

White Khonsu



A faction of short, small stardust aliens led by a divine goddess. Unique Mechanic: Structures are summoned by the goddess using stardust, but ore is only gained by destroying enemy buildings and attacking units.

Black Vulkin



Hive-minded parasite aliens under the control of their queen. Unique Mechanic: Workers can morph into various forms to gather ore, construct structures, or build new units.

Greetings, Commanders! Were excited to bring you a fresh wave of updates, including new combat mechanics, faction-specific features, and essential fixes. Lets dive into whats new: New Features Knock-Up Effect Introduced a new Knock-Up mechanic to combat. Players can now sustain defeated units in the air for extended combos and visual flair. Structures are also affected by the knock-up mechanic, adding a new layer of strategic gameplay and destruction. Faction Color Status System Added a new status effect system tied to faction colors. Each faction now applies unique mechanics during combat: Red Faction Status Effect: All attacks now apply a stacking red aura effect. At 100 stacks, the status effect triggers, resetting the stacks. Effect Trigger: Causes an explosive fire AoE, dealing 17 damage to all units and structures within the radius. AI Improvements Tweaked AI behavior for enhanced tracking and aggression. Expect AI opponents to respond more intelligently and with increased combat pressure. Bug Fixes Event Spawn Bug Fixed an issue where event triggers would duplicate unexpectedly. Events now properly remove themselves immediately upon activation, ensuring smoother progression. Development Cycle Update We are shifting from a weekly update cycle to a monthly update schedule as we hit several major milestones in development. Micro-updates will still be deployed as needed to address minor bugs and fixes.

Photo Mode & Gallery


: Capture stunning shots of your battles and base builds using the new Photo Mode. Save and revisit your favorite moments in the Gallery to relive epic gameplay highlights.

Sandbox Mode:


The newly added Sandbox Mode lets you experiment freely with factions, units, and mechanics. Perfect for learning the games controls, testing strategies, or just having fun with game features. Fixes & Improvements

AI Population Bug Fixed:


AI no longer gets stuck from turrets accidentally costing population, allowing them to spawn units as intended. Crusader Attack Speed Glitch Resolved: Fixed an issue where attack speed was so fast it skipped the timer, preventing attacks. The minimum interval is now capped at 0.01. Improved Movement Refinements: Selected units now rotate correctly without the "jumping" effect when moved quickly.

Health Bar Hit Effects:


New hit effects make it easier to identify when a unit or structure has taken damage.

Impact Effects for Projectiles:


Enhanced visuals for projectile impacts to improve clarity in combat.

UI Input Icons for Gamepad:


Added partial gamepad support with new UI input icons in the settings menu. Note: Not all menus and inputs are functional yet. Missing features include selling units and swapping formations, which will be addressed in future updates.

This patch focuses on delivering dynamic new features, improving unit mechanics, and refining gameplay balanceall while continuing to enhance the overall player experience. Lets take a look at the latest additions and improvements:

New Features & Updates


Turret System Overhaul:


New turret model and functionality. Turrets now act as Tier 2 units when upgraded by inserting a Pilot Legionator, unlocking their secondary fire capabilities. If a piloted turret is destroyed, the Pilot Legionator will eject and spawn outside. Voice Lines for Units: All units now feature unique voice lines, adding personality and immersion to the battlefield.

Red Faction Updates:


All basic faction units for the Red Faction are now fully implemented. Visual overhauls for Red Faction structures, Reaver units, and Juggernauts to better reflect their faction identity.

Dynamic Radar Update:


Radar now integrates tier-specific information for units and structures, reflecting the new mechanics for Tier 2 units. Supports the new base-focused system, allowing Red Faction structures to act as units themselves. Gameplay Improvements Ping Notifications:

New map notifications to alert players when:


An enemy is spotted. A building is under attack. A structure is completed. These alerts are accompanied by corresponding audio comms for added clarity. Unit Sight & Attack Radius Separation: Units now have distinct stats for sight and attack radius. This allows melee units to see farther without extending their attack range, ensuring balanced and intentional gameplay mechanics. Objective Flexibility: Objectives no longer require a Crusader specifically to trigger themany of your units can now activate objectives, offering greater strategic freedom for RTS-focused players.

Quality of Life & HUD Enhancements


New HUD Buttons:


A settings button icon and toggle between Command Mode and Crusader Mode have been added to the main gameplay HUD to help new players navigate. Future updates will expand these buttons to display Crusader abilities and contextual tips. Improved Gameplay Flow: The new mechanics eliminate the need for traditional upgrade systems or separate Tier 2 buildings, opting for dynamic and faction-specific upgrades instead. Each faction will offer a unique playstyle.

Performance & Pricing Updates


Early Access Price Increase: As we continue to expand the game, the Early Access price has been raised to $10 USD. It will incrementally increase with major milestones until reaching the planned final price of $21 USD at full feature completion.

i'm thrilled to bring you the latest update for Starmetal Crusaders! This patch introduces a mix of exciting new features, visual updates, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements that enhance both gameplay and performance. Lets dive into the details:

Fixes & Improvements


ToolTips Visibility in Commander Mode:


Most ToolTips in the game UI are now properly visible, providing clearer information.

Visual Update Fix:


Resolved various graphical inconsistencies for a smoother visual experience. Enemy Invincibility Bug Fixed: Random invincibility on enemies has been addressed, ensuring proper combat balance.

Timer Synchronization:


The game timer is now in sync with overall gameplay mechanics.

Space Bar & Settings Menu Visual Clutter Removed:


This issue has been cleaned up, and the interface now swaps back to Crusader Mode seamlessly when pausing.

Main Menu Update:


The old demo screen has been replaced with the basic startup map

Health Bar Visibility:


Health bars now remain hidden until damage is taken or when in Commander Mode.

Knockback Adjustments on Death:


The knockback mechanic has been refined for smoother gameplay outcomes.

Bunker Overhaul:

Raw Procedural map generation replacing the old temp map, with a new temp asset layouts as this feature is very Raw and new, many things might look weird or out of place, for now the map will not have its Generation parameters exposed to Item system yet, as that still needs to be prep up more befor the connection is made.

Changes to AI aggression


Ai should be less aggressive than before giving players more breathing room between action

AI Building placements


AI should now only be allowed to place buildings closer to their starting positions , and much reduce radius of sight reach for placement

NewRadarMiniMapVisuals


New Experimental MiniMap Visuals has been added. the mini map back ground now reflects the generated map, use may vary.
