NPC Relations System & General Improvements

In celebration of Halloween, the new Cat update just dropped and is now live! In addition to having cats as pets, there is now an entirely new Autumn biome! Pumpkin Woods is also taking part in the upcoming Steam Scream Fest 3 from October 28th to November 4th, so this update was focused on giving new players a smoother experience at the start.

We're excited to announce the release date of the first ever Pumpkin Woods Playtest! Starting October 1st till Halloween, you will be able to play as much as you want! While you wait, learn more about the 4 biomes included in this version:
The Woods
The gateway to the region is a calm and bucolic forest with scattered pine trees and vast open areas. Being the safest and most well known biome, it's the favorite place by the local inhabitants to set up traditional Halloween decorations.
Pumpkin Woods
This infamous forest with giant pumpkins is strictly avoided by most folks due to the ever growing presence of wolves and harmful plants. The sunlight is blocked by ancient overgrown trees while crows eerily warn those who venture in these dark woods.
Enchanted Forest
Also known as Fairywood, these secluded and pristine areas are nothing short of magical. Known to possess mystical creatures and otherworldly flora, it has mostly been left untouched due to old legends about those who never return.
Mining Town
Following the discovery of large precious gems, settlers from far away lands rushed to this mostly barren region. Its golden days are long gone, and these now isolated settlements are more akin to ghost towns.
Important information about Playtest 1.0!
Here's what you can already do:

- Build your cozy witch home
- Meet folks and their shops
- No time restrictions
Some limitations of this current version:
- First playtest so it may contain critical bugs
- You won't be able to fly on a broom

Hello everyone! Pumpkin Woods has been in active development for almost 2 years, though we've been awfully silent during most of this time. That's all about to change as we are ready to show the game to the world and thus have prepared a couple surprises for you during the next 30 days.
First, September 13th will (finally) be the release date of the official Pumpkin Woods Announcement Trailer, featuring gameplay footage from our latest development build. But more importantly, in October we will allow players in the first ever Playtest Demo, conveniently just in time for Halloween!
