Hey Cat Crew!
Ive just rolled out a major Beta Update for Replicat! This update is currently only available on the "Replicat Beta" branch. If you want to join the playtest, hop into Replicat Discord and apply for access!
This Beta version is where I experiment with fresh mechanics, cards, and curio. So expect to see some half-baked ideas and temporary art as I iterate and playtest. Your feedback is super important right now!
[img src="https://clan.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/images/45482125/b25fb213c25ae086436e51e69bc52ccb3bf3347f.png"][/img]
You can now lock shop items to save them for future visits! Just drag and drop your favorite items into the locking circle, and theyll stick around for your next trip to the shop. (But beware: their price will go up by +25% each round you keep them locked!)
These new curios interact with the item locking mechanic in fun ways:
[olist]Skeleton Key: If you lock an item for 5 rounds, its automatically added to your deck!
Music Vault: Lets you lock two shop items at the same time.
Fruitful Tree: Locked items get 10% cheaper each round theyre locked!
After a few runs, it seems like locking items makes the game a bit easier. To balance things out, once you lock an item, you cant get rid of it unless you buy it. This keeps the mechanic from being too powerful, but Im open to your suggestions!
What do you think about the new item locking system and curios? Is it too easy, too hard, or just right? Let us know in the comments or over on Discord!
Thanks for helping us make Replicat the best jazzy cat deckbuilder out there! Happy matching, and may the meows be ever in your favor!

Hey everyone! Next Fest has officially wrapped up, and what an amazing ride it's been for Replicat! The response from the community has been absolutely overwhelming, and I wanted to share some exciting milestones we hit together.
[img src="https://clan.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/images/45482125/9fe803eb44902c79b0a3919ce6c8c0587d5ae632.png"][/img]
1,500+ new wishlists - You incredible humans really showed up for our jazzy cat deckbuilder!
50+ streamers played and shared Replicat with their communities
50+ demo reviews earned us that coveted "Very Positive" rating
Invaluable feedback from players who really "got" what we're building
One of the highlights was our collaboration with The Royal Writ team! It was absolutely delightful watching players discover the connection between our games when they spotted the king card in Replicat representing The Royal Writ's main character. These kinds of indie dev partnerships make the community feel truly special.
Please make sure to check their game out! [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3333700/The_Royal_Writ/"][/dynamiclink]
The feedback you provided during Next Fest has been incredibly insightful. Based on your suggestions and observations, I'm diving back into development with a clear roadmap for improvements and exciting new content additions, more cards, curios, and gameplay refinements are coming!
I've already pushed some immediate improvements based on your feedback:
Quality of Life Improvements:
Enhanced Accessibility: Added color type information to card tooltips, making the game more accessible for colorblind players and clearer when special effect shaders are active
UI Polish: Removed the confusing "new essence notification" from the end-round screen - it now only appears in the shop where you can actually use it
Bug Squashing:
Fixed the "moves x 20" card interaction issue with certain curios that was setting moves to 0 at turn end
Content Updates:
The Royal Deck has been retired (farewell, old friend!), but our beloved king card representing The Royal Writ stays as a permanent tribute to our collaboration
To everyone who downloaded the demo, left a review, added Replicat to their wishlist, or simply shared their thoughts - thank you! Your enthusiasm for our cat-themed deckbuilder keeps the development fire burning bright.
The journey from demo to full release is going to be incredible, and I can't wait to share more updates, improvements, and surprises with you all.
Stay tuned for more development updates, and keep those wishlists coming!
Meow and out!

Hello, fellow card-flippers and cat enthusiasts!
Its an incredibly exciting week, Replicat is officially part of Steam Next Fest! This festival is a huge milestone for me as a solo developer. Seeing my funky little cat game on the big stage is a dream come true, and I couldn't have gotten here without your early support.
If you have a moment this week, I would be so grateful if youd check out the updated demo. Every single wishlist and share with a friend helps more than you can imagine. It truly makes all the difference.
[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3706490/Replicat_Demo/"][/dynamiclink]
I've been listening to your feedback and have been hard at work polishing things up for the festival. In the latest update, you'll find:
Minor Bug Fixes: I've chased down and squashed some of those pesky bugs. Mostly visual bugs.
Animation Polish: I've added some extra animations that would indicate money and move earns through cards.
Quality of Life Features: A few small but important tweaks have been added to make your runs smoother. Things like using "Escape" to toggle settings ^^

I want to make Replicat accessible to as many players as possible around the world. I'm thrilled to announce that I've added support for three new languages:
Portuguese
Brazilian Portuguese
Simplified Chinese
I hope this allows even more players to feel welcome and enjoy the game! Thanks everyone who contributed in translating the game.

One of the best parts of being an indie dev is connecting with other creators. Thats why Im so excited to announce a special collaboration for Next Fest with the lovely developer of another amazing deckbuilder, The Royal Writ!
Their game is a beautiful and charming medieval roguelike deckbuilder, and I knew I had to do something fun with them. To celebrate, weve exchanged a little piece of our worlds:
Keep your eyes peeled for a new, very distinguished card in Replicat... you might just find The King from The Royal Writ on your board!
And if you play their demo, you might spot some familiar feline friends! My cats have found their way into their game as Repka, The Tilemaker.
Please do me a huge favor and check out their demo. It's a fantastic game and deserves all the love.

Ive created an exclusive new starting deck that will only be available for the duration of Steam Next Fest!
This special deck is built around The King himself and is packed with a wild, chaotic mix of cards. Its designed to show off some of the crazier combos you can pull off in Replicat and is my way of celebrating this fun collaboration and Next Fest.
This deck will vanish once Next Fest concludes, so be sure to jump in and give it a spin while you can!
Next Fest is an amazing opportunity for me to gather feedback and make Replicat the best it can be. As a solo developer, your thoughts, ideas, and bug reports are my most valuable resource. After youve had a chance to play, I would be so grateful to hear what you think!
The best place to share your feedback and hang out with other players is my Discord server. Please feel free to come say hello, share your cool builds, and help me shape the future of the game.
Thank you again for all your incredible support. It truly means the world.
Happy matching!

You can now kick back and play Replicat from start to finish with your favorite gamepad. This is an alpha versionits fully functional, but not yet perfectly polished. Well, we are getting close to a demo build. I still have some more bugs and quality of life updates I need to make. But I think the game is approaching to a state where I can release a demo and reach out to bigger youtubers. So this probably means I will take some actions around making the Playtest version private. Also in this version, you will realize I am adding some roguelike "unlocking" mechanics. So, not all of the cards and curios will be available at the beginning. And after you lose or win a run, you will earn experience and you will unlock cards and curios when you level up. In later levels, you might see some cards and curios you didn't see before. They were already in the game but because I disabled the experience system, you didn't see some of them before. I also tried to test and fix a bunch of stuff regarding saving/loading but because of the nature of the game, there are so many edge cases which are introducing bugs. Please keep me informed about the bugs and we'll make sure the demo version will be robust. After I get the demo version out and convinced that it has not too many bugs, I will focus on improving the game. Adding more cards and curios, more modifiers, some neat features like "locking a curio", seeing the collection of curios in a wider UI, etc... I'll also be creating a new channel on our discord to get started with the localization. I very much appreciate anyone who would like to translate the game to their native language. If you are interested, here's a discord invite: https://discord.gg/6HMpgT8mXC CHANGELOG:
Alright, finally an update! Sorry, I wasn't able to roll an update last week. I don't want to go into too much detail, but awful things happening in my country, slowed me down a little bit. It was really difficult to concentrate on... anything. Well, I'm here now. Fixed a bunch of bugs, listened to your feedback. Improving the game and slowly heading towards a solid demo version. Yesterday, an unexpected thing happened. The one and only Aliensrock played my game on youtube. [previewyoutube=pqCbpHJ-IKk;full][/previewyoutube] I wasn't ready for this. I'm getting overwhelmed by the amount of bug reports and feedback but I'm also super excited about it! Join our discord everyone and drop those nasty feedback on my face! See you on the next updaaate. Changelog:
Hi replicatters!
This week my time was mostly spent on marketing stuff but I was able to do some dev.
Not a big update here but fixed a few bugs and...
Added Color Blind mode.
It's not targeting different color blind types specifically atm, I will do that later.
Right now all I'm doing is I'm adding patterns behind the cards so people can distinguish them.
Here's an example of how cards look for different color blind types:
Patchlog:
BUGFIX: $$$ cards not executing extra scores like points from essence multipliers
BUGFIX: Some minor fixes on save system
IMPROVEMENT: Some minor improvements in tooltips and localizations
IMPROVEMENT: Color Blind mode!
Hi hi hi! Quite big update here. First of all game has been doing great. A few small youtubers played the game and people on discord have been reporting bugs, destroying the game. Overflowing the int!?!?! Really? I played the game 1000 times and haven't managed to do that! Of course I fixed many many bugs, but let's start with the most important update:
Hey Replicatters!
It's been a good week for me. I received lots of bug reports from the community in our discord.
Make sure to join there if you want to have a chat or drop feedback. Brainoid Discord
A few youtubers played the game and I see the number of wishlists going up, makes me happy!
I really enjoyed working on the fancy cards. They were hard to read before, now with some cool shaders, we can read what's written on them but also drag them around to see the cool holographic effects.
[previewyoutube=HXmg2IHj_bc;full][/previewyoutube]
Also, we decided to change the visuals of the bosses. They used to be blind drawings of spacey where she received some prompts from Twitch chat and drew these illustrations keeping her eyes closed.
They were really funny as an inside joke but people didn't really understand what they were so we are replacing them, they will be missed:
And we are replacing them with Origami Animals! They will fit very well with the paper-style feel of the game. Someone in our community said they liked the bosses being shiny. For now, these origami bosses won't be shiny but I will consider trying them to be shiny and maybe even call them Shinygamis if that's not gonna violate any Japanese lore lol. So here's a preview of them:
I appreciate the help everyone! I'm improving the game day by day and I still need your help to test the game. Because of its depth and the deckbuilding mechanics, there are many many edge cases which are difficult to reproduce by myself. Reach out and report bugs please <3
PATCH LOG
Hey all! Thanks a lot for testing the Playtest version and the crazy amount of bug reports. I'm chuffed to see people are enjoying the game. I've been working on fixing the bugs, even sometimes on stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/brainoidgames I finally replaced the horrible, hostile burn card sound which was playing a sad cat sound. Sorry for doing this so late. PERSONAL FUN UPDATE SECTION My neighbors were away on a holiday so their cat was with me all the time, she kept good company. She wanted to go outside but I couldn't let her go out because she is not used to coming back to my house.
