With v1.3, Hot Tin Roof now has some very nice baked lighting. This both makes things look a fair bit sexier and noir'ier on high end, AND makes the game a lot, lot better looking on low-end. It also also improves performance across the board, especially on high-end. There's also some... new hidden stuff to find. That we're not going to talk about yet. Even if you find it. But have fun! :D

Finally stumbled across where you add community avatars, so, hurrah! There are now avatars. Enjoy. More importantly, though, just a heads up - we're doing A Big Thing on August 3rd, so if you were eyeing that buy button, trust me. You'll want to wait until August 3rd. We'll also be pushing an update to the game (and also a big Jones On Fire update), that should greatly improve lower-end performance and appearance, and adds... some stuff. Hidden stuff. You'll see. :D

If you check out this week's Humble Weekly Bundle, you'll see you can get Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore A Fedora for a tenner. We even throw in the OST! (It's an even BETTER deal if you're into the rest of the stuff in the associated bundle, but even just Hot Tin Roof for $10 is pretty solid - so check it out!) If we happen to get picked by Valve for a Summer Sale Promo, we'll be $10 here as well, but that isn't super likely. They tend to feature deeper discounted older games. So I wouldn't hold your breath on the game getting any cheaper during this sale. ;)

Along with a host of other small changes, v1.25 totally ditches the old janky gamepad support, and adds super fancy gamepad support. Which is to say it "just works," is fully rebindable, and you can even change the button graphics between Sony and MS standards to fit whatever you've got plugged into your PC. Neat! We're also 10% off through May 3rd, to celebrate what constitutes the last major "polish" change we really wanted to get in there. Yay!

Along with a handful of fixes that aren't worth enumerating (lots of subtle small things), v1.2 adds free content to the base game. It adds Jooseppi, the mayoral candidate who fights for worker's rights, in as a character you can actually interact with. To find him, walk over to where Hi-Table Gum Factory is. Jooseppi's (ratty as heck) campaign offices are to the right of that. He needs your help. It's just a goofy little side-quest, and involves (almost) no platforming, and you'll probably have it done in 20 minutes. It, amongst other things, hopefully removes the need to grind boxes for bits for the later upgrades in the game, and gives you some other ways of affording the early upgrades. It also loops in a few of the characters I felt didn't get to say much in the base game, and gives you more ability to help them achieve their goals.

This fixes... a lot of things, but mostly it adds a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle hints, re-directors and context-adders meant to help folks not get lost.
Switches now generally have signage of some kind if they're critical, for instance, and the doors or whatever they interact with are marked with similar signage. We added a bunch of additional "reveal" cameras that fire off to show you what switches do, and arranged those cameras so that you can always see some contextual clues to tell you what door just opened.
The single biggest change is in Hi-Table. It is now (almost) impossible to leave Hi-Table, after you pick up the
