Hello, Steam Folks! It's Nine, again. ... Well, who else would it be? With Mythos, Book One going through the final approval for Steam (that means a release date is gonna be posted super soon!), I decided to wet y'all's whistles with some more juicy previews about what to expect in my weird world. Today we're going to meet the "main cast" of Mythos. Each of these characters can not only be beneficial to your investigation, but they are also all suspects! Who do you trust...? [hr][/hr]
[h2=Nelson]"Nelson"

The Main Character

The game is told from the perspective of Kylie or Kyle Nelson (aka - Ky), depending on which gender you pick (and you can change their first name). For the purposes of the story and your romance options, there is no difference in which you choose to play as. A bit of a nerd, Ky was a theatre kid back in high school, as well as a gamer. Lisa Harrison and Ky began dating as teenagers, and it seemed very likely the two were going to be married. Despite all that, Lisa very unexpectedly broke things off, and the two havent spoken since. Ky hasn't dated anybody else after breaking up with Lisa Harrison two years ago. [hr][/hr]

The Victim

After college, Lisa worked as a paralegal. She enjoyed dancing all through her childhood, and continued to pursue that as a hobby into her twenties, until her death. Being as she was dead at that point, she did not continue to dance, as that no longer fit into her lifestyle. Or would it be deathstyle? Regardless, shes dead, now. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Tara]Tara Norwood

The Best Friend

At a very young age, Tara was sent to live with her grandmother near Baltimore, which is when she met Ky. The two became best friends and mostly stayed that way ever since. Tara didnt seem to get along with Lisa, which caused her friendship with Ky to become somewhat strained. However, after the breakup, Tara was quickly back at Kys side for support through that troubling time. Despite not having lived in the country (her parents farm) for twenty years, Tara still has a rough-and-tumble farm girl attitude, and an accent that sounds rather out of place for the Baltimore area. Unlike Lisa, Tara is not dead. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Sophia]Sophia

The Brains

More of a friendly acquaintance to Ky than an actual friend, Sophia is a ridiculously knowledgeable employee at CyberDaze. Her knowledge goes well beyond the electronics she sells, seeming to know everything about everything. She also has the strange quirk of always referring to people by their whole names (first and last), as well as never using contractions. Sophia has always been eager to help out Ky whenever they crossed paths, so perhaps shell be useful in figuring out Lisas cause of death (because Lisa is dead). [hr][/hr]
[h2=B]B

The Hacker

More than just a single letter, B is the chaotic techie that seems to come and go at lightning speed. Shes quick-witted, impulsive, and usually hungry. Other than that, nobody seems to know where she came from, where she lives, or why shes so tall. She seems interested in Lisa Harrisons death, and thus has become entangled with the rest of the crew. [h2=Rain]Rain Sunbeam

The Hippie

Rain is a stereotypical hippie - quite literally. Her name, her clothing, and her demeanor all seem to be almost a parody of what a hippie would be, except for perhaps her thick Baltimore (Balmer) accent. She owns a greenhouse in Highlandtown, which most definitely does not grow weed. Lisa (the dead one) seems to have some personal connection to Rain, which may be key in solving the case. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Mara]Mara MacLachlan

The Cop

The death of Lisa Harrison (who is dead) wasnt ruled a homicide, so one would think the police wouldnt get involved. Detective MacLachlan unfortunately gets swept up into the mix for completely different reasons. Is she someone who will help the investigation or hinder it? [hr][/hr]
[h2=Monica]Monica Schwartz

The Spy

The Bureau is a mysterious agency that seems to be focused on dealing with the supernatural, and its likely that this is the organization that Monica Schwartz works for. Nothing is known about her, other than her apparent intolerant behavior and her arsenal of high-tech weapons that look straight out of science fiction. She is also alive (unlike Lisa). [hr][/hr]
[h2=Becki]Becki (With an I)

The Influencer

Another of the group that grew up with Ky, Rebecca Davenport seemed to be on bad terms with both Tara and Lisa (currently dead). Despite that, Becky (as she was known at the time) never seemed to show any particular hostility toward Ky. In the time since high school, Rebecca now goes by Becki (With an I), and has become a wildly popular influencer online - so much so that she and her mother now live in an upscale gated community outside of Baltimore. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Sylvia]Sylvia DuBois

The Socialite

Sylvia is the chairperson of a nonprofit organization known as the Fame and Nature Group, which focuses on the preservation and restoration of historical and culturally significant sites. She is affluent and well-connected, with wealthy elites often making appearances at her fundraising events. Her connection to the super-dead Lisa remains a mystery unto itself. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Aiden]Aiden Drest

The Edgelord

The excessively broody and pointlessly morose Aiden Drest is, surprisingly, always seen in the orbit of Sylvia DuBois. While the two couldnt be more opposite from each other, with Aiden being so gruff and Sylvia being so urbane, they seem to have formed an inseparable bond. While Sylvia had a strange connection to Lisa (the dead one), Aiden kept his distance from the girl. [hr][/hr]
[h2=Cecil]Cecil Turner

The Dotard

The mortal world has largely forgotten about Cecil Turner, a World War 2 veteran - but hes very important amongst supernatural circles. Cecil is the head of the organization knowns as The Convocation, an alliance of magic users headquartered in Baltimore. Perhaps due to his advanced age, Cecil seems rather scatterbrained, but generally seen as a kindly old man that probably keeps butterscotch candies in his pocket. Ostensibly, nothing mystical happens in the region that doesnt catch Cecils notice. So how does he fit in with the murder of Lisa Harrison (which resulted in her death). [hr][/hr]
[h2=Desmond]Desmond Medraut

The Curmudgeon

Along with Cecil, Desmond is also part of the leadership of the Convocation. While Cecil is the friendlier face of the group, Desmond is the grumpy one; often the enforcer. Its unclear if Desmond will be of much assistance, being as he seems to dislike pretty much everybody. Did his dislike extend to Lisa - possibly to the point where he would kill her to death? [hr][/hr]
[h2=Rami]Rami

The Rock Star

The Baltimore music scene is pretty familiar with the local band currently known as Area 42. Rami is the leader and thunderous drummer of the all-girl rock band. She has no connections to Ky, isnt part of the Convocation, isnt dead like Lisa, and certainly isnt a cop or secret agent. How did she get involved in all this? [hr][/hr]
[h2=Rin]Rin

The Groupie

If Ramis connection to the case is strange, Rins is even more so. Rin is, simply put, a groupie of Ramis. She is always seen wherever Area 42 is playing, but she also has an uncanny habit of lurking about the fringes of events in the area. She has a part to play in the mystery, for sure - but what is it? Oh, and Lisa is dead. I think I forgot to mention that. [hr][/hr] Naturally, there's quite a few side characters you'll meet along the way. An over-eager apprentice mage, a completely inconsequential waitress, a pair of friendly dogs, and a possibly friendly cat. I look forward to you meeting every one of these characters, and agonizing over which one of them to call out as a murderer. Keep the legends alive! - Nine
